October is a perfect time for a Disneyland vacation, with special events like Halloween Time and the Oogie Boogie Bash adding an extra layer of magic.

My family and I went to Disneyland last October and had the best time ever!

Whether you’re headed to the original Disneyland Resort in Southern California, exploring Disneyland Paris, or venturing to Disney World in Florida, this is a great time to visit.

Planning Your Disneyland Trip

Before we dive into the outfit ideas, let’s talk about some important aspects of planning your Disneyland trip in October.

Hotel Room and Packing List

Choose a hotel room close to the park to save time and energy, especially if you plan on going back and forth during your stay.

As you pack, consider the average temperatures for the month. It can still be warm during the day, but chilly mornings and evenings might require layers.

Don’t forget essentials like sunscreen, a first aid kit, and a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated.

Park Tickets and Wait Times

Purchase your park tickets in advance to avoid long lines at the entrance.

You can check wait times for attractions using the Disneyland app, helping you plan your day efficiently.

Early Mornings and Park Days

Take advantage of early mornings when the parks are less crowded, and lines for popular rides are shorter.

It’s a good idea to plan your park days, keeping in mind special events and entertainment schedules.

Mom tip: Break up your day! We had a four year old in tow and didn’t want her to get too tired in the middle of the day.

We started out with an early morning in the park and then went back to the hotel to rest and eat and then went back out in the late afternoon so we could stay at Disneyland in the evening! It actually helped out all of us, not just the little one.

Halloween Time at Disneyland

One of the most magical times to visit Disneyland is during Halloween Time.

The park transforms into a spooktacular wonderland, with festive decorations, special events, and attraction overlays.

All the characters get dressed up in fun costumes! So it’s fun to capture photos with them in their halloween costumes.

From late September to October 31st, you’ll find Halloween-themed entertainment and experiences throughout the park.

Oogie Boogie Bash

For a truly unforgettable Halloween experience, don’t miss the Oogie Boogie Bash at Disney California Adventure Park.

This separately ticketed event offers exclusive entertainment, treat trails, character encounters, and a frightfully fun parade.

Dressing up in costumes is encouraged, allowing your family to fully immerse themselves in the Halloween spirit.

Halloween Party Tickets

If you’re visiting Disneyland during Halloween season, consider purchasing tickets to the Oogie Boogie Bash or Mickey’s Halloween Party (if available).

These special events offer unique experiences, such as trick-or-treating in the park, character meet and greets in Halloween costumes, and themed entertainment.

Disneyland Park: Classic Magic on Main Street

For Disneyland Park, classic Disney-inspired outfits are always a great option.

Mickey and Minnie Mouse-themed clothing or color-coordinated family ensembles are perfect for capturing the magic of the park.

Bring along a day pack with your essentials, and don’t forget your autograph book to collect signatures from your favorite characters!

Disney California Adventure Park: Embrace the West Coast Vibes

Disney California Adventure Park offers a more laid-back and West Coast vibe.

Light layers, like a long-sleeved tee or a denim jacket, work well for the changeable weather.

Comfortable flip flops or sandals are a good option for strolling along the boardwalk and enjoying the attractions.

Best Times of the Year to Visit Disneyland

October is a fantastic month to visit Disneyland, especially during Halloween Time.

The end of October is still considered a good time to visit, as the crowds start to taper off after the peak season.

The weather is generally milder, making it more comfortable for exploring the parks.

If you prefer warmer months, visiting during the summer months can be a great option, but be prepared for higher temperatures and bigger crowds.

Comfy Chic: Two piece Set

A matching two piece set is a great option for a day filled with excitement and adventure at Disneyland Park.

If you have little princesses in your family, they’ll love dressing up as their favorite Disney royals.

Don’t forget to pack an autograph book so they can collect signatures from all the Disney characters they meet.

Classic Cool: Mickey and Minnie Mouse

You can never go wrong with classic Mickey and Minnie Mouse outfits for your kids.

A red polka-dot dress for your daughter with Minnie ears and a Mickey Mouse tee paired with red shorts for your son will make them the coolest kids in the park.
