Shoedazzle Christa Review

Last weekend, my friend Carolyn of Hey Pretty Thing invited me to a brunch she was hosting with Shoedazzle. They sent me a pair of shoes to wear to the brunch. They let me choose the style, so it wasn’t a surprise, but the big surprise was that when they arrived, I fell in love! I admit, I’m a bit of a shoe snob. I do own a good amount of designer shoes and that’s mainly because I find that they just tend to be more comfortable and in my opinion worth the price tag. I’ve worn and kept most of my designer shoes way longer than any of my non designer brands so the investment is worth it in the long run. However I haven’t seen a design like these before and I’ve been mildly obsessed with tassels on bags and shoes lately so I chose these and I just had to share as they are now one of my favorite pair of shoes!

What I wore to the brunch, which I had such a great time and got to hang out with some blogger friends and met some new blog friends!

These retail for $49.95 but while I was on the site I joined the “VIP” club and they were offering 75% off a pair of shoes… so definitely worth checking out if you are interested! Quality wise – they are inline with most man-made material shoes that I’ve come across. I really love the gray and the pink combo and the tassels are such a great detail. The tassels can be annoying though, if you don’t tie them tight, they will come undone and suddenly you are kicking around a bunch of tassels. Comfort wise – these are 5 inch heels so keep that in mind. I’m used to heels so I’m fine in them but for somebody who’s not as used to heels, I’d probably advise to stay away as they really are quite high and there is not much padding in the footbed. Brunch was in Capitol Hill and if you are familiar with that Seattle neighborhood, you will know that parking is impossible around there. I found a spot 3 blocks away and walked to the restaurant and was fine in them. I probably could not walk a full hour in them but to and from a restaurant is perfect. They don’t make a size 5 in any of their shoes – which is annoying – why start at 5.5? But I am wearing the 5.5 and they fit fine. Since the heels are so high, your foot does end up falling forward while you walk but because I could tie them tight on my foot, they didn’t feel too big or fall off.

p.s. I wasn’t asked to write this post – I really just wanted to share my cute shoes as I have never thought of shoedazzle as a good place to buy shoes but I have now changed my mind!

False Lashes or Mascara?

There are some days that I just don’t feel like getting dressed up and putting on makeup but those days are pretty rare. I find that even though I work from home often or on the days that I’m with my daughter and work (which is an impossible thing to do but I try to make it happen) I find myself being more productive and wanting to do more when I’m dressed and have my make up on. And even though I love doing my makeup, I still always have this debate about going with false lashes or just stick with mascara. Well after I got my first pair of ESQIDO false lashes I am now completely addicted and have to have them on whenever I put my make up on. They truly are the best lashes and it’s so funny how many comments I get whenever I have them on. People stop me just to ask me what mascara I’m wearing and one of my friends after seeing them on me, immediately got on her phone and ordered herself a pair!

I’d
say that if you haven’t tried out false lashes yet, go buy a pair of
drugstore lashes to practice on but get these Esqido lashes once you’ve
mastered it. And anybody that has already mastered wearing false
lashes, if you don’t have a pair of these you are seriously missing out!
These mink lashes blend so well into your real lashes, look so fabulous
on and are super comfortable. They just make your eyes pop and on some days I don’t do much else
but put on a little eyeliner and these lashes, that’s really all I need!
My husband will comment on how nice my makeup looks when I don’t
really do all that much except for pop these bad boys on.

I got two more pairs as I really loved the unforgettable style and
wanted to make sure I had a back up (see my first review here) and I also tried out Miss Dolly which has a bit more volume and length. I love both but if you are wanting a more natural look, go for the Unforgettable. I will be using Miss Dolly for date nights and nights out with my girls!

I just spotted that they are offering 5% off with the code ELLE so now is a good time to buy as I haven’t noticed a discount before. As for the order process, the site is super easy to use, you get free shipping for orders over $25 and it took only a few days to get to me for both orders. I haven’t done a return but I noticed that they have a great return policy with returns/refunds within 60 days for unused products and even if you have used it they will let you do a one time exchange! I think that’s great as I’ve found that some lash shapes don’t really suit my eye and make me look more Las Vegas Showgirl than I’d like so that’s awesome that they will let you exchange for another pair.

I’m not a homebody. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy my time at home but during the day and on the weekends, I’d rather be out and about than be at home, unlike my husband who prefers to stay at home and just relax. Nothing wrong with that of course but I just like to be out whenever I can. He’s learned to love it though and he goes out with us whenever he can so we can all spend some quality time together. Our daughter has taken on my quality of
needing to be out at all times. She gets super fussy if she doesn’t
leave the house for the day. And so on the weekdays
while my husband is at work, she’s out with me or our nanny and on the
weekends we are out all the time.

Being that I’m out with my daughter a lot, I wanted to find a diaper bag that I
wouldn’t mind carrying around everywhere. I also don’t use the diaper
bag as a purse, which I know some moms do. I prefer to carry my own bag
so that usually means I’m carrying around two bags and a baby. I
didn’t like the traditional diaper bags. I found that they were too bulky and just didn’t find any that
fit my style. I also felt like they all came with too many pockets and doodads that I didn’t need/want. I just wanted a simple tote. I was carrying my LV
Neverfull for awhile but then it made me nervous as I would leave the
diaper bag in the car sometimes and I didn’t want somebody to think that
I left my purse in there and they would break into my car for it. So I
went looking for a less obvious but still pretty bag when Adora reached
out and asked me if I wanted to try out one of their bags. I
immediately said yes as I loved the look of the sleek black tote and that it had nice long handles so that you could wear it on your
shoulders pretty easily.

The bag is made in Italy of Italian leather and I can tell you it really is a high quality leather. It’s been a few months since I’ve used it and I can honestly say that it is one of the best totes I’ve ever owned. Being that it’s taken quite a beating from being thrown around in the car, stroller, at restaurants, playgrounds and so much more it still looks perfectly new. I use this diaper bag organizer inside the tote and the two make a perfect combo. The organizer has a zipper so I don’t have to worry about anything falling out of the tote. Even with the organizer inside I still have plenty of room to carry other things inside when I just want to quickly throw things into it. There’s also a removable pouch on the inside, where if I needed to, could keep my credit cards and license in if I didn’t want to bring a purse with me.

The shoulder straps actually stay on your shoulders and it’s a nice sturdy bag that keeps the structure. It’s a big bag but not overwhelmingly big. Nobody looks at it and thinks it’s a diaper bag so they are always surprised when I tell them that’s what I use it as. Of course it’s a tote so you can use it as anything you want and I think it would be a great travel bag or work bag as well. You could easily fit a laptop and so much more in there.

As you can see my little one was running around in the background of my photos so I couldn’t get too many photos as my husband and I were trying to keep an eye on her but I had a chance to sneak a few in with her 🙂 This little sweetheart is my world – she just makes me so happy!

A big thank you to Adora for sending me the bag. Even if they didn’t send it to me I still would have bought it myself, I really do love it! Oh and the best part? My husband is happy with it too! He often has to carry the bag when I have my hands full with her and he has never once complained about having to carry this bag. I’ve gotten a few questions about what I carry as my diaper bag so I hope this helps and I’ll cover what I carry inside the diaper bag on another post!
