Lookbook: Wings

First of all, thank you so much for all the birthday wishes, here, on email and over twitter!  I had such a great birthday weekend and it’s extending into this week too because we all enjoy extended birthdays right? 🙂

I’m all about lace for the fall so was delighted when Threadsense sent over this top.  It’s cute on it’s own, but I wanted to dress it up for the fall.  I never buy sweaters from Forever 21 because I always find that they get so misshapen even after one wear which I think happened to this sweater.  I only wore it once and hated how it looked on me but I think I kept it around because I liked the color.  I remember reading on Love Maegan that she had cut up a v-neck sweater down the middle to make it into a cardigan and decided that is exactly what this sweater needed.

Madewell Legging Jeans

I love love these jeans.  They are most definitely my newest favorite and plan on getting another pair in a different color.  I got mine at Madewell, but I just saw that Shopbop has them on sale for $66.50!  I didn’t even know that Shopbop sold Madewell.  Anyway, I linked to the shopbop ones if you want to check them out!

Love the new top! It's so fun. And I'm totally interested in these Madewell jean leggings, but I noticed the inseam is 32". I'm only 5'1"! Do you usually hem your skinny jeans/denim leggings or do you just fold and/or scrunch them up??

Vivian – oh sorry! only the "anvil wash" is $66.50, I didn't notice that the black was still $95. Thanks for pointing that out.

Nancy – I get all my jeans hemmed. I never mention it because I'm so used to it. I buy pants and they immediately go to my alterations lady! So yes, they are hemmed. However, I think that since these are a stretchy material, they would work fine folded underneath as well.

Isn't Madewell a JCrew brand? I just got their jeggings and I really like them, but the waist is a little lower than I like. Where does the waist of the Madewell pair sit?

Also saw the Steve Madden has a similar shoe at Nordstrom last week, but only $89. I'm hoping they look good and are comfortable – I'm way cheaper with my shoe purchases!
