Easy Mother’s Day Craft to do with your toddler

Crafting with toddlers is always an adventure but watching them create something is just the best! I love the process of making things together, so I’m always trying to think of easy crafts to do with toddlers.

I’m a very sentimental mom who keeps all the artwork my girls create. I wanted to have something that I could remember both the girls by at their current ages (2 and 7). These handprint bouquets are so easy to make and both kids had a great time making them.

My oldest could trace and cut out on her own which made her very happy to have her own creative freedom. My youngest was happy to get her hand traced and pick out the colors of paper to use!

Being a busy mom, getting out of the house to buy materials is not always at the top of my list so I was so happy to order from Walmart and get everything that I needed for this project!

With my Walmart+ membership, I was able to get Walmart+ free shipping, no order minimum required (excludes freight & Marketplace items)!

I order everything from Walmart, from groceries and household essentials and it’s great that I can also get things for our craft projects shipped for free!

It’s also nice that I can even place an order from my local store! I get to choose the delivery window time so I get my items whenever I need. Plus I also get free delivery from our store ($35 minimum. Restrictions apply)!

How to make a handprint bouquet for Mother’s Day

Materials for the project:

And make sure to have lots of snack on hand! It was so great to be able to place one order on Walmart and get everything so I didn’t have to worry about running out to get any last minute items.

This Mother’s day craft is simple, easy and I love that it involves your kids hands which is always so fun if you do a hand craft each year to see how much their little hands have grown.

Instructions:

  • Grab a few colors of construction paper to be the “flowers”
  • Have your child put their hand on the paper and trace their handprint
  • Trace the handprint on all the colors or use one as a template to cut out the rest
  • Cut out strips from green paper to create the stems
  • Glue the green strips to a piece of white paper – make sure to layer them so it looks like a flower bouquet
  • Glue the hand “flowers” to the tops of the stems
  • Cut a piece of ribbon and create a bow
  • Glue the bow to the stems

Write their names on the bottom or the back of the paper so you’ll remember when they make them! My oldest daughter wrote a note to me which I just love!

This is a great gift not just for mother’s day, you can give one to grandma and teachers, etc… It’s a fun project that the kids will love to do with you!

The Walmart+ membership has been so great when I know that I will need things in a few days. I place my order and it’s at my door before I know it! But I also stop in to Walmart when I need and I love that with Walmart+ I also get more benefits when I shop in store like using the mobile scan & go where I can check out with my phone! It helps me run in and out of the store with ease and I can get back to my busy schedule!

Walmart+ is definitely something I rely on a lot and highly recommend trying it out for yourself! You can even get a 15 day free trial if you sign up here!
