When it comes to creating a special gift for grandma, the most important thing is to let your kids have fun and let their creativity run free.
Here are tons of options to spark the creativity with your littles to create something really special for grandma.
Best Grandma Ever Free Printable Coloring Page/Card
Mother’s day coloring cards for grandma and mom – get a matching set and have your kids color them for both you and your mom!
Coloring pages are great as it keeps your kids entertained and then also a fun way to have a little keepsake for you and grandma too!
Get your free Mother’s Day card for mom and grandma. You can download and print as many as you need for all the mother figures in your life!
You can either leave it as a coloring page or cut it into a card that you can add to a gift!
My daughters LOVE to color. They truly sit at the table and color for hours and it is such a fun activity that they enjoy doing together.

I love Grandma because… Flower Card:
Have your kids tell grandma all the reasons why they love her in a card form! This is the perfect way to show grandma how much you appreciate her!
All of these mother’s day card ideas are super easy and no template required! I just eyeballed the flower pieces and cut them out. (My oldest was able to cut them out herself after I drew an outline for her.) My toddler helped glue them down (use a glue stick for their little hands – I love the jumbo glue sticks) to the construction paper.
These flower cards are just darling! It’s the perfect card to tell grandma how much you appreciate her!
Create a flower using cut out shapes of colored paper, and then have your kids write (or you assist) in writing a reason on each petal of the flower for grandma to read.
It’s also a great project for a young kid who is practicing their writing!
For a gift idea, you could wrap up a frame and after she sees the card she can pop it right in to display!
Don’t just use this for mother’s day, it would be a great idea for a birthday cards too.
Reasons I love my grandma free printable
All of these homemade card ideas are easy to do but if you and your kids aren’t feeling too crafty, here’s a great free printable that your kids can color and fill out and send to grandma!
Tip: If grandma lives far away and you want to send her something fast and easy, take a photo of it and send it to grandma digitally!
Handprint Flower Pot Card Idea:
Another great handprint card idea! This handprint flower pot would make a great card for grandma.
Just trace your child’s hand on a colored piece of construction paper to create the flower stem shape. Then, cutout small flower shapes to attach to the top of each finger as the flower buds! We added little gem stickers to give it some sparkle!
The pot can be glued just on the top to feature a secret message for grandma underneath it. You could also make it fun by making the pot a little bit bigger and tucking in a gift card in the secret flap!
My girls had so much fun creating these flower pots and it is a really great craft idea for all ages.
Handprint Heart Card Idea for Grandma:
I absolutely love DIY gifts and handprint crafts for Mother’s Day and this adorable heart shaped handprint card for grandma is a great idea for little ones.
You will just need to make a heart shape or template for them to add their handprints into and then you or your kids can write a sweet message around the border of the heart.
This beautiful card is sure to be a keepsake that grandma will cherish forever, and I always love comparing how the handprint sizes change over the years.
Heart Pop Up Card Idea:
My mom always loves to receive photos of my daughters for gifts, so when I saw this pop up heart card idea that featured pictures inside I thought it was genius. I thought this was a really unique idea and would be a great one for older kids to get creative with and create on their own.
Cupcake Flower Card Idea:
We all have paper cupcake liners laying around…put them to use to create the most adorable flower card for grandma! My girls would have so much fun stacking the liners up to create their very own flower designs. This idea of course would work for anyone – not just grandma – but I know my daughters grandmothers both love flowers and would really appreciate this pretty 3D card!
This would also be really pretty framed as a gift for grandma. Or you can have your little ones write a special note to grandma on the inside of the card. The options are endless but this is sure to be a special gift that any grandma would love.

I always love hearing my girls answers on worksheets like these that they do in school, they always have such interesting answers and I truly love looking back on them over the years. I know my mom and mother in law would love to hear my girls answers to these questions and see their drawings of them on the bottom! This is a fun, interactive card that leaves lots of room for creativity and is educational too with practicing writing and descriptive skills.
