Layla’s 7th birthday was quite different this year as we usually celebrate with a big group of her friends. Since we couldn’t do that this year, I wanted to make it fun and special so set out to create the best DIY Rainbow birthday party that I could! Kids of all ages have so much energy but toddlers seem to have the most! It can be hard to entertain them at home and I’ve found that heading outside can keep them quite busy. My daughter loves animals so any toys that includes animals is a huge plus in our house.  I recently surprised her with these Li’l Woodzeez toys and she was so excited to get them!  She’s been playing with them a ton every day so I wanted to share as I think it’s such a great toy for kids and the price point is amazing for what you get! We moved into our new house about 5 months ago and it’s been quite the process of decorating, getting in new furniture and changing some things around but I’m happy to finally share some more of our home, starting with Edie’s nursery! PINK AND GRAY BABY GIRL NURSERY I wanted something simple and pretty that was still “girly” but not over the top cutesy.  I’m really happy with what we ended up with!  It’s not done yet as I still haven’t been able to find the right rug to fit the room (I’ve bought and returned too many rugs to count) so if you have any suggestions, let me know!  I’m also still looking for curtains for the room.  Why is it the last finishing touches are the hardest to pick? Our darling baby girl #2 arrived on October 16th and we all are so in love!  Edessa Rose arrived at 39 weeks (to my relief as I was so ready to have her out of my belly!) at 6lbs, 2oz and 20 inches.  I’ve been so much better this time around to take time for myself and for baby so that we could adjust to a schedule (somewhat) and deal with some feeding/latching issues.  It’s been the most wonderful 2.5 weeks and I am loving every moment. Even though I’ve been taking photos like crazy, I haven’t been sharing too much to my social media.  I really just want to enjoy this time without having to think about taking photos for instagram.  Which is also why it’s taken 2.5 weeks to post these to my blog! But I’m so excited to introduce Edie to my blog and of course big sister who has been loving her new role and adores her baby sister. My daughter’s playroom was something I knew I needed to find storage solutions for that were easy enough for her to use in order to help clean up and also that look cute and hide the clutter. I wanted to share some simple ideas to organize your kids toys as well as a peek inside of our playroom and how we keep it organized. IKEA SHELVES AND POLKA DOT STORAGE This shelf from Ikea was the perfect solution to hold a lot of toys and I loved the simple look of it too. We used two sets of these shelves and placed them horizontally. We displayed some of her favorite items and cute artwork on the top to add some fun details and the prettiest oval rug right in front to play on.
