Lookbook: Wreath of Gold

We decided to do something different with this lookbook as it just won’t stop raining here and taking pictures outside is impossible. I do love how the pictures turned out. We don’t have the luxury of having a blank wall to take pictures so we got creative and although you can’t really see the entire outfit, you can see bits and pieces of our place 🙂

Thank you SO much to Mafia for sending me this gorgeous pendant. It is a bit bigger of a piece than I usually wear but with a pretty casual outfit it really made my outfit stand out a bit more. I do have to mention that the chain it came with was super long and on a shorty like me it didn’t really look that great so I got the pliers out and modified the chain to fit me and I adore it at this length. Sometimes you have to do alterations on jewelry just as you do with clothing. Jewelry pliers (get a kit like this – perfect for small hands!) have come in handy in so many jewelry fixes as well as adding my own twist to certain pieces or even fixing/adding to vintage pieces that I find.

I got mine a few months ago (you can see it better here) but you know I love my Madewell tees and this one is on sale for $22. Have you seen their new arrivals? I’m totally getting the Striped Tribute Tee and the California coast pencil-stripe tee. Don’t they both look so perfect for the summer? I got these jeans awhile back and I really like that they are a gray color as they are always my go to pant when I don’t feel like wearing my regular jeans. They are on sale at Piperlime and the black is on sale for $72! Also get 2% cashback from ebates.

I used to be obsessed with Diesel jeans! I had so many pairs. I just spotted these Super Slim Jeggings, I love the color and their on sale. Or check these gray cargo pants

out! They look kinda silly on the model but I think they might be cuter in person and they are on sale for $30 and 2% cashback.

Oooh, look how cute these Seychelles booties. They look similar to my booties AND they are over 50% off at Endless + 7.5% cashback! I bought these foldover booties in gray early in the winter but never wore them. They are super cute but I think I’m going to sell them so look out for them in my next blog sale.

Lookbook: Rosey

I very rarely wear a lot of logo-ed type stuff and I actually look more at the style/design than any logos so if I love the style of something but it has logos on it, unless it detracts from it, I have no problem at all with the logos. There is a line of being “tacky” with logos or just wearing something because you like the design. Anyway, moving on…I was given this scarf as a gift from a friend (thank you! I love it!) and I wanted to wear it and really, I just loved the color scheme of the dark gray and red. It’s such a pretty pairing.

I’m wearing a silk J Crew blouse underneath the scarf that you can’t really see but I love it a lot. The silly thing was that I cooked breakfast in it the other day and I got a big spot of oil on it. WAH! I was so sad. I haven’t had much luck with silk + stains, I really hope the dry cleaners can get it out.

Love this! So pretty, I would wear this with everything.

Everyone needs a white blazer, they are so versatile! I also really like this tuxedo blazer. A little bit different but how pretty is this lace jacket?

I love to wear silk blouses under my blazers especially for work. Tucked into black pants it’s always an easy go-to outfit. This navy one would be great too or this one is perfect and it looks a lot more expensive than the price!

Prada Booties

You know I love my booties, not only are they totally cute and go with everything, they are really comfy too! I used to not be a bootie kind of girl but I’ve discovered that the lower ankle booties work better on my shorty legs (they don’t cut my legs off like the true ankle booties). You could also go for a classic black pair like these Pour La Victoire bootie. Or these DVF lace up booties are SO cute. (and 50% off!)

Alexander McQueen Skull-Print Chiffon Scarf

I love to add a bit of color with scarves and you can’t go wrong with the classic Alexander McQueen skull scarf. This rose print scarf from Madewell is also really pretty. I can go either way with scarves, expensive or cheap I don’t care as long as I like the pattern. This pink scarf is really cute and only $9.99!

It’s been awhile since I’ve put on a skirt. Now that I work from home, I still like to get dressed up but I just wear whatever the heck that I want and while I used to wear skirts all the time to the office, sitting at home in a skirt just seems, I don’t know, a bit odd. I think it’s also because since I don’t work in a normal corporate setting, I don’t have to sit in front of the computer all day long (where sitting in tights is not too bad) instead, I’m in and out and running around all day long and doing it in tights in this freezing weather just isn’t ideal. However, I do adore these polka dot tights and haven’t worn them yet this season so brought them out to play!

Straight hair for today! Are you surprised? It is a rare day when I don’t curl it. BTW, thanks for the awesome feedback about my curling with a flat iron tutorial. I’m so glad that quite a few of you were able to try it out and find it to be quite easy! Check out the adorable @StephBartolome version! Adore it with the poof!

When I was in NYC I stopped by the Eryn Brinie store and bought practically everything there. I love that label and everything fits me perfectly. Unfortanately the cardigan that I bought is sold out, I love the little puff sleeves. This Open Back Cardigan looks great and even this chunky cardigan would look cute with this outfit.

Lookbook: Prada booties!

My new Prada loves that you saw in my last post. I just adore these booties! I also bought these in purple and they’ve been siting in the box. I can’t decide if I want to keep them but I can’t bear to return them either! They were on sale but they were still a bit expensive so I don’t know if I need two since I also bought many other pairs of shoes. Maybe I need to take a poll and you guys can help me decide if I should keep them. hahaha! I’ve so been into cozy sweaters lately, but how could you not with the crazy cold weather we’ve been having? I haven’t been to or bought anything from Forever 21 in a really long time because I go through phases of loving it or hating it (and I was in the hating it phase) but I finally went in one day when we were in the area (there’s no F21 where I live- so I don’t go to the store very often anyway). And I knew I didn’t want to spend a lot of time in there but the first thing I saw was this cozy sweater so I grabbed it, paid and left. That’s the best way for me to shop in store or else if I’m in there too long my eyes start going crazy (because of the mess and the sheer amount of stuff) and my ears start hurting (because of all the “teenage girl speak”) so in and out is my game plan whenever I step foot in that store!

Oh and the “M” I’m holding was an ornament/gift tag that I made for everyone in my family for Christmas! I bought all the supplies at Jo-Ann’s and I spent 3 days glittering those dang letters! But it was worth it, everyone loved them! I’m silly though because I didn’t buy a “T” for myself so I don’t have one 🙁 Oh well, I don’t feel like glittering again! And husband is glad that it’s over because our whole place was covered in glitter for a week after that project!

(you can see it better on me in this lookbook) I also really like this plaid shirt, I love the color! And I’m sure you all know how much I love Madewell so I’m eyeing this one that’s on sale.

Vince Denim Corduroy Skinny Pants

I absolutely love my Madewell legging cords. I had to buy them in black and navy blue because they are my new favorite pants EVAR. But they are sold out online, maybe you can snag some at the store though! Still there are a lot of cute skinny cords, like these that are on sale for $59. Or these ones are really similar and a great price as well!

Prada Studded Booties

I can’t find mine online so they are probably all sold out. More reason for me to keep the purple ones too right? I always get questions about how I score size 5 shoes, especially on sale, and I have my SA at Nordstrom to thank for that. I’ve been buying shoes from him for a few years now and every sale season he calls me right when he gets the list of what shoes will go on sale and then holds all the 5’s for me until I come in and try them all on and let him know which ones I want. He also calls around to find my size for shoes that I want but he doesn’t have them at his store. In one word he is AWESOME and is a size 5 + designer shoe whore’s dream come true. I wouldn’t have half my shoes without his help (and my husband also says that I’ve probably paid for his kid’s college tuition with all the commission he makes. LOL!) I like Big Bows…

You know that I love sharing my new shoe purchases with you all and you’re probably used to seeing my 4 inch stilettos but had to show off these little bow flats as they deserved a post of their own!

I found these at the Prada store when I was in New York last month. I didn’t think I had a chance of finding them in my size as I had seen them first at Saks but the size they had was a half size too big. When I asked for them at the Prada store I got the “oh, that’s quite small, I don’t think we have that size, let me go check.” Never a good sign when the sales person already tells you that they don’t have that size. But, luck was on my side and he brought out my coveted size 5!

The big bows are too cute aren’t they? (Oh and do you like our new living room rug?)

I love that the bows are bigger than the front of my feet. I’ve been wearing these with everything. They have become my replacements for my Tory Burch Revas. Although I own 3 paris of Revas, they all have become so worn down with all of the walking that I’ve been doing in them so I was due for a new pair of flats. (I wear them whenever I travel and when I travel I do a lot of walking.) But I do have to say that the Revas are more comfortable than these flats. These ones kind of pinch on the side but nothing too bad, I can still wear them for hours and not complain about my feet hurting.

I can only find them online at Neiman Marcus right now, but like I said, I saw them at Saks too. Saks had a pretty blush/nude color too but they were out of my size. I hope they put them online soon as I’ll probably be ordering that color too!
