Shopping + Haul!

Acquired a few new things in the past month and wanted to do a little haul post to share with you guys.  Thought I’d share a few detail shots before you see them in my lookbooks!

I adore this striped shirt, and how cute are the puff sleeves.  This will definitely be a staple in my fall wardrobe.

I recently discovered that Amazon has some amazing deals on clothing.  I had no idea as I usually buy necessities or techie stuff on Amazon and have never really checked out their fashion section until recently.  I love this Amanda Uprichard dress that was $211 and I got it for $56!  (It’s now marked down to $49)  It’s a gorgeous dress on and love the pleating and the print.  I can wear it now but will definitely wearing it with black tights and boots for the fall.  I got this in Petite and it fits perfectly.

I did some sale shopping at J Crew (see below for more details) and picked up this sweatshirt that I can tell you will be a new favorite.  I’m going for two trends at once with this leopard print peter pan collar shirt but I love it, it’s just the right touch of leopard print!

I came across these at Nordstrom and I knew I had to get them before even trying them on!  The color is so pretty and I do love me some bright shoes so I know I’ll get lots of wear from these.  Oh and I was super impressed with the quality of these for the price.  I may have to get another color!  I stayed true to size for these pumps.  They actually are slightly big in the toe box but work fine when I put in foot petals
.

Rachel Roy Gardner Pump – Piperlime has them in a few different colors.  I LOVE the sequin ones!

A few J Crew dressing rooms pics.  They put some cute fall stuff on sale so I had to try them on.  The pink silk shirt is a great staple.  After I put it on, I realized that I have something similar so I didn’t get it but I loved the color and the fit.  And you know that I already got this sweatshirt.  I’m usually not one for words on my clothing but thought it was a cute design.

Obviously, loving the black and white with the neon! 🙂  I got the neon yellow shorts as they are one of the colors that I don’t have and they were on sale for $29.99.  And the very popular Blythe Blouse came in the same color and was on sale for $59.99 so got that one too.  Both the printed pieces were on sale but I didn’t end up getting either.

These were my favorites of their new fall stuff.  Love the cute peter pan collar sweater except it was so itchy!  Definitely need to wear another layer underneath.  The pink cords are so fun and they run true to size.  Didn’t get either of these either but will keep checking to see if they go on sale.

Lots of cute fall stuff in stores now, I do love fall shopping!

Pop Sugar Must Have August box

Got my Pop Sugar Must Have box and compared to last month it was quite different so wanted to share a quick review with you guys.

Here’s most of the contents.  My inital reaction was that it was packed!   The box it came in was huge and filled to the brim.

The most notable item that I liked was the govino Wine Glasses.  They look just like real wine glasses but they are shatterproof, reusable and recyclable!  I need the shatterproof as you do not even know how many wine glasses I’ve broken. Sometimes I just look at them and they break!  I’ve never seen these before so am glad that I was introduced to them.  Will be great to use them for when we have guests over and you don’t have to worry about anyone shattering a glass.
Read more for the rest of my review (it’s kinda long)

The thing that I was most meh about was the food (a bag of granola and pretzel chips) I mean, I know it’s just filler to make it seem like there’s more in the box but I’d still prefer not to get food items.  I don’t know, I’m picky about food and don’t really need a box like this to be sending me snacks. Also, the PopPhysique DVD is potentially good but considering I have absolutely no space to do any kind of working out, I’ll never use it until we move somewhere bigger.  I prefer to get my workout on at the gym anyhow.  Maybe I can convince my gym to install a TV and DVD player for me?  LOL.
Moving on, here’s the stuff I did like. First, the Baggu Reusable Bag.  As I’ve mentioned before, I’m a reusuable bag hoarder.  I love those things so am always happy to get another one.  I like these ones better where they fold up into something small so they are easy to keep in my purse.  I always have at least one with me.
The Tatcha Blotting Papers are pretty amazing.  They do an awesome job of soaking up all the oil on my face.  I’ll for sure be keeping this in my bag.  I’ve seen these before but have never bought them.  I’m totally sold though.
The Sprout Skincare Exfoliator and Cleanser is really neat because the ingredients are truly all natural.  Like the exfoliator is made with just almonds, oats and sea salt.  It’s definitely not as harsh on your skin but I don’t think it works any better than my favorite exfoliator only because I love the consistent exfoliating beads and this one just doesn’t get that.  The Cleanser, is also a little mild for me.  I like to really cleanse my face to get rid of makeup and anything else at the end of the day but with this cleanser your supposed to put on a cotton pad and clean your face with it that way which I just don’t feel like that will do a whole lot of cleaning. (I prefer a cleanser used with my clarisonic to get my make up off).  I’ve been using it more as a toner instead which I think it works great in that sense.  I love the natural aspect of this line and although these two didn’t impress me a whole lot (but I’ll still use them) I did see that they make a makeup remover which I may try.

And not pictured above is the Alora Diffuser
which I had already put on our shelf (next to our very cute Rocking Bird!) and I have to say, I’m impressed with this diffuser.  We live in a loft with very high ceilings so fragrances usually get lost in this space but this diffuser does a great job of getting the fragrance out.  I’ve used several diffusers and this one is definitely the best one for our space so I’ll be checking out the other fragrances once this one is done.

So overall, a pretty good box!  There were a few other things in there that I didn’t think were worth mentioning but you can see the entire box over at the Popsugar website.  For the price, you definitely get a lot more than what you paid for.  For me, these boxes are just fun to get because I feel like I’m getting a surprise every month.  If you want to subscribe to the box, click here! (my referral link is attached)  I just got a coupon code for you guys too!  Use code REFER5 and get $5 off your first box!

Popsugar is not sponsoring me to do any of these reviews, I just want to share them since I’m always curious as to what is in these subscription boxes and thought it might be helpful if there are readers that are thinking about subscribing.

Shopping with me: Nordstrom & J Crew

Had some time to go shopping last week so wanted to share some of my dressing room pics and finds.

I stopped by the Prada boutique at Nordstrom and loved seeing the new colors/styles for fall.  You may have already seen this pic on instagram but this is a much better view of the bags.

I’ve been debating about the Saffiano Lux Tote for awhile now and even
though I ended up getting the YSL Chyc, I always come back to look at
this bag.  I don’t have any navy bags but I think I may have changed my
mind from a beige Prada to either this navy blue or even the purple.  I’ve been looking at blue bags lately (have my eye on this new Proenza) and spotted the Balenciaga Hip in this pretty blue.

I have been on the hunt for a faux leather skirt and spotted this one online so I went to Nordstrom to try it on.  It’s really cute on although the faux leather is very “faux” but considering the price point, I’m okay with that.  While I was there, I spotted this blazer and cute button down that I had to try on.  The button down has faux leather lapel and cuffs which is really cute!  The jacket comes in quite a few colors and prints.  I love the cuffed sleeves as that’s how I always wear my blazers.  It’s unlined but other than that the material is a nice silky feeling and it fits nicely in the shoulders.
Lush Print Blazer (wearing XS) | Faux Leather Skirt (wearing size Small)

Faux Leather Trim Shirt (size XS on the left and size Small on the right)

if you are wondering this was a different day than the rest of the pics.  The purple pants I’m wearing are Madewell Colorpop jeans

J Crew had a few cute things on sale and as you can see, I was apparently only attracted to the striped items!

Multistripe long-sleeve boatneck tee  – (wearing XS) This top was super soft.  I almost would wear this to bed!  The burgundy stripes are perfect for fall and the price ($34.99) for J Crew was pretty good.  I would’ve preferred the smaller size since it kind of pooled around my waist and didn’t make it very attractive but it wasn’t available in store.
Rugby-stripe boatneck top – (wearing XXS) This top is less stretchy than the top on the left so it was a bit tighter around the bust for me.  I have to be careful when I buy J Crew tops because their non stretchy tops are always quite small in the bust and I’m bigger in that department so often times I get the pulling in the chest that’s quite unattractive. The rest of the fit though, was great and love the color combo.

Jules dress in stripe silk twill – (wearing size 0)  One warning about this dress, the shoulders have absolutely no give so I actually tried on the 00 and got stuck!!  It wasn’t that it was too small for me, it fit fine.  But you know how you have to lift your arms up to get the dress over your head and so my shoulders would hinder it from going above my head!  The top part of the dress is just very constricting.  I was in the dressing room thinking that either I was going to have to call the SA over to come help me pull it over my head or just buy it and act like I wanted to wear it out of the store.  LOL!  Anyway, I did finally get it off so I tried on the 0 because I had to see if it would work better.  It was just slightly too wide on me (but would be okay with alterations) but with the trauma of getting stuck in the other one, I left it behind. 🙂
Colorblock Stripe Top – (wearing size 0) I didn’t love the bagginess of the top (wide stripes + bagginess is not good) even on the model you can tell it’s not the greatest fit so I think even if I sized down, I’m not sure I would like it. I can kind of understand why it went on sale so quickly.

So yeah, not the best shopping trip other than the blazer and the faux leather skirt which I love.  Hopefully J Crew will have better fits next time!

Popsugar Must Have Review

So I mentioned last month that I subscribed to the Popsugar Must Have box. I received it last week and wanted to do a quick review for those of you that were curious about it.  They were pretty vague about what was going to be in it, unlike the other boxes that are popular now that just focus on cosmetics, nail polish, etc… they were pretty general about what they were going to include so I was intrigued.
First, the fun packaging!  I’m a sucker for anything pink and white so I was excited to see the box 🙂

The contents minus two KIND bars that I gave to my husband (I’m not a fan of nuts)

Body Scrub and Body Lotion by Body Drench | nail polishes by RGB | Lip Products by Ilia | Reusable Bag
Read more for the rest of my review…

My inital reaction was just “oh”.  Slightly unimpressed but still happy by the contents.   The cost of the box is $35 so I did expect for the products to be nicer (and not samples) so I was happy about that.  I had never heard of two brands (Body Drench & Ilia) so I just didn’t know if they were good or not.
I’m impartial to the body lotion and scrub.  The body lotion does smell good but it’s not anything that I would’ve picked out.  I have yet to use the body scrub as I already have a brand that I love but will test it out after mine is done.  I have a huge stack of reusuable bags (Seattle has a ban on plastic/paper bags) but I can always use another one because you need them even when you shop at Nordstrom! This one is pretty roomy and sturdy so great for the grocery store.  And I know my husband is excited to carry a Popsugar bag out of the grocery store. hahaha 😉
So at this point, I was feeling a bit ‘meh’ about the box.  What changed my mind was after I used the Ilia lip conditioner and lipstick.  The lip conditioner looks bright red but when it goes on your lips it’s a very sheer and pretty color.  The nude lipstick is also really great on.  Both go on smoothly, the lip conditioner definitely moisturizes my lips and the lipstick doesn’t dry out my lips.  They work great layered together too!  I’ve worn them consistently through the past week and they both get a thumbs up from me.  They retail for $24 each so that in itself already pays for the bag.

I’m a total nail polish addict so I of course didn’t mind adding more polish to my collection.  I’ve heard of RGB but have never bought it before.  Mostly because I’ve never seen it at a store around here so I’ve never been able to test it out. I have been wanting a good mint color and so happy that I got this one.  This color is perfection. I love love it and the polish itself is fabulous.  It goes on smoothly, not too drippy or thick.   I have yet to try the nude but come fall, I’m sure I’ll be wearing it a lot paired with other colors.  These retail for $16 each so definitely well worth the price of the box.

Here’s my instagrammed picture of the color on my nails.  It’s more closer to the green than the blue (you gotta love instagram filters but it definitely changes the colors).  **Follow me on Instagram: TiffanyIsh**

So in the end, after using the products I do think that the cost of the box is great for what you get inside.  Obviously the downside is that you don’t get to pick your colors or anything like that and you get brands that you’ve never heard of but the good thing about that, is trying out the brands that you many never have tried before.  I’m signed up for this month’s box too so I’ll do a review on that once I get it!  If you want to try out the box, sign up here (my referral link is attached)  Did anybody else get the box?  What are your thoughts?

Neon Love

I am on such a neon kick, I can’t help but want to pick up everything that is bright, bright, bright! And because accessories are the easiest to wear (and more fun, I think) I’ve gotten a few things that I’ve been adding to my outfits non stop.

I do love the neon accessories but I want to add a few pieces to my wardrobe as well so have been shopping around and here are a few of my picks.

Random Updates

I was in China all last week so I’ve been a bit MIA since practically every website is blocked there (even Pinterest! my ultimate online addiction).  Anyway, I’m so glad to be back in the cool Seattle weather as China was blazing hot and they aren’t ones for AC over there so even inside it was HOT HOT HOT.

I got super lucky on the trip over as they bumped me up to business class and let me tell you, that 14 hour flight was awesome being able to lie down all the way!  I had to send a photo to my husband of all the leg room that I had.

And I love the fancy meal presentation too 🙂  If only I could fly business class all the time!

Read more for more randomness 🙂

It was so awesome to come back to see our necklace featured on WhoWhatWear.com as that is one of my favorite websites!  And thank you to the readers who emailed me to let me know about it, you guys are the best!  The Highlighter Necklace is nearly sold out so get one now before they are completely gone! 🙂  The bracelet version and the pink version is still available!

I love sharing pictures and seeing everyone else’s pictures, which I tend to do on my facebook page, but seeing as almost everyone I know is on instagram, I finally joined!  My username is tiffanyish, I tried to follow everyone on my facebook/twitter but let me know if you are on so I can follow you too!

my first instagram!

Did a little shopping when I got back and was happy to see that Madewell was still having a sale and on top of it, all sale items were an extra 30% off!  Here are the things that I tried on and the 3 sale items came out to be about $110 total!

Left:
Soft Silk Boyshirt – not on sale but love the color.  I have quite a few of their boyshirts and love the fit of them.  See the gray on me here.
Sidestep Skirt – it’s cheaper online but I got it for $34.99 from $68 so still a good deal!

Right:
Market Popover – not on sale online, I got it for $34.99.
Skinny Skinny Ankle Colorpop Jeans – a bunch of colors on sale but I don’t have any dark purple so I had to snap these up since I love my red ones.  These are way cheaper in store, I got them for $41.99!

I’ve got lots going on the next few weeks but hoping to get some time to finally enjoy the nice Seattle weather.  Lots of new styles coming to our jewelry line too which I’m super excited to share with you guys.  We are learning lots as we go with our new business and I truly appreciate all the support you guys have given us from the beginning.  Next month will be our ONE YEAR anniversary!  I can’t even believe it, it’s been such an incredible experience and watching it grow has been amazing and just makes me so happy to finally be doing something that I truly love and am so passionate about.
