My husband and I recently celebrated our 9 year anniversary and almost every anniversary he gives me jewelry. I usually just give him an idea of what kind of jewelry I would like (like rings or earrings) and he takes care of the rest! He really puts a lot of thought into picking out each piece just like he did with my engagement ring. I truly love the thought behind each of them. The jewelry he has given me over the years always carries way more sentiment and memories than any other gift that he has gotten me.

MY ANNIVERSARY PRESENT

Last year, we updated my engagement ring to a new setting and this year I requested a new wedding band. I still wanted to wear my band, but I just wanted an update to my wedding set. We were engaged for about a year and we’ve been married 9, so I’ve been wearing the same rings for 10 years. As someone who loves fashion and changing my style/outfits, I felt like it was time to update my wedding rings. Of course there’s so much sentimental value behind my wedding set which is why I waited quite awhile before updating my rings.

HALO DIAMOND ROSE GOLD BAND

This year, he brought our daughter to help him choose the gift and I adore the thought of the two of them together looking through rings and picking out which one they thought would be perfect for me. I’m absolutely obsessed with the band that he chose. My engagement set is platinum but knowing how much I love rose gold, he went with a rose gold band with diamonds and it could not be any more perfect. I love the halo set diamonds too, he truly could not have picked out a better ring for me.

What I really love about the ring, is that I can mix and match with my current set and change up the rings to go with what I’m wearing that day. I don’t always wear my engagement ring especially if I’m headed to yoga or an activity with my daughter where I need to be hands on. I love that I can wear this band and it looks great with our without my engagement ring. I also just wear it on my right hand so I am loving the versatility and how I can wear it with all my outfits!

I love to wear the new band with my original band which is a simple diamond band. I think they go perfectly together and wearing them both represents the past 9 years that we’ve been married paired with our life together now with our daughter and what the future holds for us. A new band is such a great way to update your wedding set. I love to mix metals and I think the rose gold with the platinum look so pretty together. It is a bit unexpected but a great way to update and modernize your wedding rings.

We were headed out to our anniversary dinner and I loved pairing the ring with the black lace dress as it just looked so classic and elegant together. One of my favorite things in the world is to take photos with my daughter (and my husband too, but he’s usually the one behind the camera) She also loves to dress up and take photos with mommy so it’s always a fun time when we take pictures.

We got my new engagement ring setting at Shane Company last year and I was thrilled to get to work with them this year. The holiday season is always such a crazy time with not only so much to do at work but also so many events and errands to take care of. My calendar is completely full these days and so I’m always looking out for the best pieces that can transition from different occasions so easily. I love a piece that can easily be worn for so many events, especially from work to an after work event.

I’m in love with the texture and the print of this Anne Klein blazer. It’s almost a metallic which makes it so holiday appropriate but also makes it feel so luxe. Anne Klein is such a great brand for pieces like this that look so much more expensive than they really are.

What to wear to work during the holiday season

Every year I’ve had to run from work to dinner or events so I always find that I’m reaching for pieces that look great day to night. Here’s a few other tips of what to look for:

Make a statement with just one piece: Just like this outfit, the blazer is the stand out piece but you can also find things like a great pair of shoes, a jacket or even jewelry that you can keep as the focus of the outfit.
Find pieces that you will be comfortable in for hours at at time. I can’t always go home to change in between work to events so I want to make sure whatever I’m wearing, I can stand to wear for a really long time.
Layering is always key. This blazer can also be work with a sweater underneath for more warmth but I also like that it’s slim enough to layer my warm winter jacket over it as well.
Keep the rest of your outfit basic: These black pants and pumps are something that I always have multiples of in my wardrobe so it’s easy to pull together an outfit once I’ve found a statement piece like the blazer. You can do the same thing with a black sheath dress or sweater and slim black trousers.

SIZING TO FIT

Most often, clothing related to sports like tees, jerseys, sweatshirts all tend to run big so I like to size down to ensure that I get a more fitted and feminine look which is more my style. I’m actually wearing a kid’s XL jersey here and found that it was a great fit, especially tucked into my jeans.

ADD SOME FUN SHOES TO YOUR LOOK!

It would be cute to find shoes in the color of your team but I don’t really know if I have any other reason to buy blue or green shoes which is why I love the rose gold sneakers that I chose to wear with this outfit. It’s still casual and goes along with the sporty outfit but it’s also fun and girly and just my style! You don’t have to wear sneakers, you can even go with cute boots or flats. I find that you can always add personality to your outfit with your shoes!

And of course, have fun with your look! I love football fans and how loyal they are to their teams. I love seeing the crazy fun fashions at football games so feel free to add your own twist!

It’s already getting a bit cold here in Seattle and even though I know I’m in for many gray days ahead of me, I’m looking forward to cooler temps, booties, scarves and leather jackets! I’ve partnered with Macy’s to share some of my favorite pieces from the Anna Sui x INC collab! I’ve always loved Anna Sui. Her designs are always so beautifully detailed and was excited to see this collaboration as I also adore INC with their great quality pieces at very reasonable prices.

This (faux) leather jacket is hands down the best piece in the entire collection. The embroidery and the stud details are SO perfect and I know I will be wearing this so much during the fall. The best part about a jacket like this is that you can keep the rest of your outfit pretty basic. I did however add this tiered sleeve top so when I took the jacket off I still had a fun detail to my top.

I mean, just look at that detail! I just adore everything about this jacket.

I love the mix of the faux leather with all the different textures in this line. This plaid shirt has such cute details with the ruffle in front and bell sleeves with more ruffles! I love that she took a plaid shirt and added a bit of a girly twist with all those ruffles.

OUTFIT #2: PLAID SHIRT \\ FAUX LEATHER LEGGINGS \\ SLIP ON SNEAKERS \\ FRINGE BAG

The details of the bag are so cute too! The fringe and the chain make it edgy but still so wearable. I love how the whole line has so many little details that make every piece really unique and gives your outfit so much personality.

It wouldn’t be me without mentioning the shoes! I LOVE the star details on them. Even when I’m wearing the most casual outfit, wearing anything with these shoes makes it that much better! I own quite a few of INC slip on sneakers and they are my go-to weekend shoes when I know I’ll be running around with my daughter a ton. Not only are they so comfortable but they come in the cutest designs too.

I wasn’t able to photograph this on, but how cute is this denim jacket! I love the star theme throughout the collection, and it’s not just star print it’s STAR BLING! Love all the embellishments on the jacket and this for sure is going to be a staple this fall. The shoes too are so darling and the chunky heels make them so comfy to wear! I’m all about the mules this season.

4 easy ways to update your jewelry for fall

I’m not in a rush for summer to be over, but I can’t deny that I love when fall comes around! My most favorite time of the year is actually the transition of summer to fall where the weather is still beautiful here but not as hot and I can start combining my favorite summer tops with jeans and booties. My jewelry also goes through a transition into less bright, bold colors and statement pieces, to delicate and more classic pieces. I’ve partnered with LAGOS to share with you one of my favorite pieces that I’ve been pairing with everything! And keep reading for my tips on how to update your jewelry for fall.

This Black Caviar Bracelet is such a classic piece and I’m finding that it goes with literally everything I own. It’s got a nice weight to it but it’s also not too heavy that it gets annoying on the wrist and you end up taking it off when you are typing on the computer at your desk.

A few easy tips for transitioning your jewelry wardrobe for fall.

Stick with classic pieces with minimal embellishments – with all the layering and putting on/taking off jackets it’s such a pain when your jewelry gets caught. I try to layer one to 3 bracelets and do a small stud for my earrings to keep the risk of things getting caught to a minimum.
Say yes to mixing metals: I am all about mixing metals but what I do to keep it looking cluttered, I take cues from the rest of my outfit to see what the piece will most likely complement. For this outfit the studs on my shoes are gold, but the black and the silver of the bracelet went well with the red top and white jeans which is what your eye will go to naturally anyway. But the added component of the gold with the silver makes the outfit interesting and fun.
Use your jewelry as the focal point of your outfit – During the fall, I often find myself in a simple sweater and jeans or like below, a tee, jeans and a moto jacket. You don’t need to add a lot but jewelry can really help give your outfit a bit of your own personality with even the most basic of outfits.

And lastly, the art of the stack is so important. Again, you don’t have to stick with the same metal colors, in fact bracelet stacking is one of my favorite places to mix metals. Like the pic below, include different elements and textures but at the same time, find a common ground with all the pieces. Allow the largest piece to give you an idea of where you’d like the focus to be on.

For my outfit, I obviously have a lot going on with the shoes and my bag. I wanted the bracelet to complement them and not compete. It really is such a simple piece but something that I believe every woman should have in her closet. I also love that it’s not just your traditional gold or silver bracelet. The black beads give it an updated and modern feel.

I love updating all aspects of my wardrobe for the season’s change.

I’m sure I’m not alone in the fact that the moment I get home from a long day of being out all day, the first thing I do is take off my bra. Seriously, it’s like the best feeling in the world to be free of it when you’ve been wearing it all day. I, however, hate going braless. It’s just not comfortable to me so I have a huge collection of comfy bralettes that I wear at home. I have loved them even before it became trendy to wear them! But I’m glad that it’s become trendy as there are just so many cute styles out now. Since I own so many, I now use any excuse to wear a bralette rather than a regular uncomfortable underwire bra. Sure the support isn’t as great and depending on the outfit and situation, you’ll definitely need a regular bra but I have to say on the days where I’m working from home and running errands all day or out with my daughter, bralettes are such a good option.
