I’m so happy it’s spring and have been looking forward to getting some new clothes for me and the girls. I’m loving the spring fashion collections from Walmart and found so many cute things for everyone in our family!

You know me and my love for mommy and daughter matching outfits. I found so many options at Walmart! I’m not as much a fan of twinning as much as matching so I like to stick with similar colors and styles. My off the shoulder dress is super comfy and lightweight and Layla’s cold shoulder dress is a bit like mommy’s but age appropriate for her.

Layla does not go anywhere without at least 3 toys by her side. In an effort so that mommy does not have to end up carrying everything or something gets lost, I started having her carry a bag or backpack wherever we go. How cute is this mini backpack that is perfect for her size and the best part, it holds everything she needs!

There were so many great option for shoes for Layla, but knowing how much she loves bows and glitter, I had to get her these adorable sparkly bow sneakers. She adores them and has been wearing them to school every day!

Being that I’m still breastfeeding and trying to lose the baby weight, I’m always looking out for clothes that I’ll be comfortable in. This dress is perfect for both those needs, and I feel great in it. For chillier days, I’ll be adding a denim jacket over it and it will be a great dress to pack and take on our vacation to Hawaii!

Isn’t this hat so fun? I’m a huge fan of hats for the summer and love all the cute options I found at Walmart. I’m a sucker for pom poms! The wedges are also a great buy, I love how comfy they are, and they go with everything! For a shorty like me, nude wedges are always a win in my book. They make me taller and help elongate the legs which is definitely something I need!

I love being able to find such cute and trendy pieces at Walmart, you can’t beat the prices and the quality is great! I’ve been doing lots of browsing and adding some more pieces to my cart.

I do a lot of printing for my business and also for my 5-year-old. We’re always printing out coloring pages, sticker/rewards charts and craft projects. Planning our pregnancy: How we got pregnant

I found out I was pregnant just about a year ago and it was the best news ever! It took my husband and I a while to decide on having another baby and then changing up more things in our lives like a career change for me, figuring out if we wanted to move to a bigger house and a few more things. So once I knew that we were ready, I wanted to have the best tools available to help the process. My age also had something to do with it as I had my first baby in my 30s and here we are 5 years later trying to have our 2nd. After years of being told that having a baby late in your 30s would get harder, I went in with the expectations that it would take a bit more time.

The best tool we used to get pregnant

One of the tools that we used to help was the First Response™ Ovulation Test Kit that helped pinpoint the days that I was most fertile and most likely to conceive and I truly believe it was one of the best tools that we used in our journey of making our 2nd baby!

How to maximize your fertility in 2019:

I wanted to talk to an expert to get some tips for any of you that may also be on the journey of making a baby so here are some top tips from Yale University’s Clinical Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Mary Jane Minkin, M.D for trying to conceive:

Predict your most fertile days:

Accurately predicting your most fertile days is easy. In general, you ovulate about 14 days before you get your period. So, if you have a 28-day cycle you are probably ovulating around day 14-15 (counting the first day of your period as day 1). If you have a 35-day cycle, you are probably ovulating around day 21. However, to give you the most definitive information, the First Response™ Ovulation Test Kit will tell you when your LH surge happens so you know when to have sex to maximize your chances of conception.

The lube you use can affect your ability to conceive:

Lubricants can be tricky-because obviously, knowing that you have to have sex at a certain time can be stressful and take away from spontaneity (and natural lubrication of your own!). So many women do find themselves a bit dry in these situations, and a lubricant can be very helpful. However, many lubricants impair sperm motility or damage sperm vitality. She also recommended a few things to help get pregnant like making sure you are close to your ideal body weight as you can –both being underweight and overweight can contribute to infertility. Stop smoking and also make sure to take a vitamin enriched with folate.

How to be confident with your pregnancy test result

As I’m sure with most women who are trying to conceive, I tracked my periods each month to make sure I knew the timeframe of a missed period. Being a shoe girl, I’m always looking for cute shoes and I found so many pairs that I love! These nude heels are perfect for so many outfits and I’ve been wearing them a ton. And yes, I’m a mom of two but I still love to wear my heels! My tips: always keep a pair of sneakers in your car that you can change into when you are with your kids and need them, but otherwise, you can still rock your heels any time!

I’m lucky to live in a climate where it doesn’t get super cold in the winter so I love tops like this that I can layer with cardigans and coats. I try not to dress too warmly as I find that once I head inside I get so hot as everyone has their heat cranked up! Here I added a cozy sherpa coat to keep me warm while I’m outside. Don’t rule out pretty blouses like this for winter as you can still definitely make it work!

Thrift store style: Fall finds to look for while thrifting

Thrifting at Value Village has been so fun for me this pregnancy. I love that I’m able to find pieces that can fit my growing belly, which at 36 weeks, my belly is pretty much the biggest that it’s ever been! I shopped there in the spring for my first trimester, got some cute summer outfits for my 2nd trimester and now I’m shopping for fall for my third trimester!

I really wanted to get some cute sweaters for fall, especially ones where I could wear with all my current maternity clothes as I really do not want to buy much more clothes for the remaining few weeks of my pregnancy. I was excited to find some really cute finds that would work for now and post pregnancy.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN THRIFT SHOPPING

A few things that you want to keep an eye out for when thrifting:

Quality: This isn’t just about brand names but look at the material and what the clothing is made out of. Look closely at buttons and seams to make sure that they are all attached and finished well.
Trends: For fall, you’ll want to look out for anything that’s chunky knit, cozy material, patterns like plaids, florals or stripes
Brand Names: Of course it’s not always an essential but looking at the tags usually gives you an idea of what kind of quality you should expect from the clothing and getting a well known brand may end up with pieces that last longer.

Keeping my tips in mind, here’s what I found…

MY VALUE VILLAGE FINDS

Check out how cute this fuzzy cardigan is! And it’s so soft! I scored it for under $5!

I always love a thin cardigan to toss over any outfits so this one is right up my alley.

This one was one of my more “expensive” finds but at $15 it was such a great find! It’s a department store brand and is such great quality. Love the little bejeweled buttons and the tweed look.

Plaid is always so cute for fall and I just loved this cozy cardigan!

After much debate, I decided to get pieces that I could mix and match easily with the clothes in my closet. I went home with a pink tee, the white cozy cardigan, the tweed looking cardigan and a striped dress. I wanted to share how easy it was to create cute fall on trend looks with these thrift store finds!

CUTE FALL MIX AND MATCH OUTFITS

I used the striped dress (that I got for $7) and paired it with a big cozy cardigan, plaid scarf and fringe booties. Such an easy but fun fall look for any occasion.

I then took the same dress and added the fuzzy cardigan (which made this outfit less than $15!) and my neutral booties that go with everything. I added a pop of color with the orange clutch to give it more of a fall feel.

And for my last easy to wear outfit, I took the same cardigan and will be wearing it with the pink tee and a few pieces that we all have in our closet, jeans and ankle booties! I added the scarf for a little bit more warmth and I think it’s looking like the perfect outfit for a crisp fall day.
