The older I get, the more I focus on skincare and making sure that I’m using products that are beneficial to my skin. When Olay approached me about the Olay 28 Day Challenge to prove that using Olay can leave me with visibly healthy skin, I was intrigued. I’m definitely up for any challenge, and I wanted to share the progress and the results that I’ve seen. The challenge was simple, for 28 days, I would use the Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream and Olay Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream every morning and night. By the first few days of using these products I was already excited by the results!

And here I am after! The difference that I can see in my skin is definitely noticeable. Not only are the fine lines and wrinkles around my eyes a lot softer, my skin itself just feels so much better.

I wanted to share some shots with makeup on (below) as I don’t tend to go out without makeup. What I love is that these products really help create an even and smooth base so that I’m not having to wear a lot of makeup to cover up wrinkles or dark under eye circles.

I have always had dry skin which always get a bit worse in the winter. Both the Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream and the Ultimate Eye Cream have been great at bringing the moisture back into my skin and I feel like I have to pull out my moisturizer in the middle of the day.

The Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream reduced the appearance of fine lines starting on day 1 and firmed skin in 5 days. I really am loving the difference in my skin texture and how it feels plumper and more hydrated.

I am the biggest fan of eye cream. I truly believe that eye cream helps with the wrinkles around your eyes and I use it religiously. I love that the Ultimate Eye Cream reduced the appearance of crow’s feet around my eyes. This time of the year, I’m getting no sleep at all. Running a clothing line/ecommerce store it is our busiest time of the year, so I definitely get puffy eyes and dark circles. Since I’ve been using this eye cream, you can’t tell at all! I also love that it’s a little tinted so I can wear it underneath my regular foundation and it blends in beautifully so I don’t have to use anything else under my eyes!

Updating my wedding rings with Shane Company

My husband and I recently celebrated our 9 year anniversary and almost every anniversary he gives me jewelry. I usually just give him an idea of what kind of jewelry I would like (like rings or earrings) and he takes care of the rest! He really puts a lot of thought into picking out each piece just like he did with my engagement ring. I truly love the thought behind each of them. The jewelry he has given me over the years always carries way more sentiment and memories than any other gift that he has gotten me.

MY ANNIVERSARY PRESENT

Last year, we updated my engagement ring to a new setting and this year I requested a new wedding band. I still wanted to wear my band, but I just wanted an update to my wedding set. We were engaged for about a year and we’ve been married 9, so I’ve been wearing the same rings for 10 years. As someone who loves fashion and changing my style/outfits, I felt like it was time to update my wedding rings. Of course there’s so much sentimental value behind my wedding set which is why I waited quite awhile before updating my rings.

HALO DIAMOND ROSE GOLD BAND

This year, he brought our daughter to help him choose the gift and I adore the thought of the two of them together looking through rings and picking out which one they thought would be perfect for me. I’m absolutely obsessed with the band that he chose. My engagement set is platinum but knowing how much I love rose gold, he went with a rose gold band with diamonds and it could not be any more perfect. I love the halo set diamonds too, he truly could not have picked out a better ring for me.

What I really love about the ring, is that I can mix and match with my current set and change up the rings to go with what I’m wearing that day. I don’t always wear my engagement ring especially if I’m headed to yoga or an activity with my daughter where I need to be hands on. I love that I can wear this band and it looks great with our without my engagement ring. I also just wear it on my right hand so I am loving the versatility and how I can wear it with all my outfits!

I love to wear the new band with my original band which is a simple diamond band. I think they go perfectly together and wearing them both represents the past 9 years that we’ve been married paired with our life together now with our daughter and what the future holds for us. A new band is such a great way to update your wedding set. I love to mix metals and I think the rose gold with the platinum look so pretty together. It is a bit unexpected but a great way to update and modernize your wedding rings.

We were headed out to our anniversary dinner and I loved pairing the ring with the black lace dress as it just looked so classic and elegant together. One of my favorite things in the world is to take photos with my daughter (and my husband too, but he’s usually the one behind the camera) She also loves to dress up and take photos with mommy so it’s always a fun time when we take pictures.

We got my new engagement ring setting at Shane Company last year and I was thrilled to get to work with them this year. I love the service there and they truly have an amazing selection of all types of jewelry. I’ve already got my eye on a few things and have sent some ideas to my husband in case he needs some ideas for my Christmas gift!

The holiday season is always such a crazy time with not only so much to do at work but also so many events and errands to take care of. My calendar is completely full these days and so I’m always looking out for the best pieces that can transition from different occasions so easily. I love a piece that can easily be worn for so many events, especially from work to an after work event.

I’m in love with the texture and the print of this Anne Klein blazer. It’s almost a metallic which makes it so holiday appropriate but also makes it feel so luxe. Anne Klein is such a great brand for pieces like this that look so much more expensive than they really are.

What to wear to work during the holiday season

Every year I’ve had to run from work to dinner or events so I always find that I’m reaching for pieces that look great day to night. Here’s a few other tips of what to look for:

Make a statement with just one piece: Just like this outfit, the blazer is the stand out piece but you can also find things like a great pair of shoes, a jacket or even jewelry that you can keep as the focus of the outfit.
Find pieces that you will be comfortable in for hours at at time. I can’t always go home to change in between work to events so I want to make sure whatever I’m wearing, I can stand to wear for a really long time.
Layering is always key. This blazer can also be work with a sweater underneath for more warmth but I also like that it’s slim enough to layer my warm winter jacket over it as well.
Keep the rest of your outfit basic: These black pants and pumps are something that I always have multiples of in my wardrobe so it’s easy to pull together an outfit once I’ve found a statement piece like the blazer. You can do the same thing with a black sheath dress or sweater and slim black trousers.

I can’t believe Thanksgiving is THIS WEEK! It seems like whenever this time of year rolls around, we’ll be welcoming the New Year super soon! 5 Tech Gifts Every Mom Needs

I was excited to attend the Techlicious and Consumer Technology Association Lunch a few weeks ago and got to learn about some great tech products! I wanted to share my top favorite tech gifts for moms. Personally, I prefer when people buy me tech items as gifts as I rarely go out and buy them myself. I shop for clothes, makeup and shoes constantly but when it comes to tech stuff, I’ll be honest, I just don’t know where to start. I always rely on recommendations from others. But that’s why I loved attending this lunch to learn about the products that both Techlicious and CTA hand picked to share with us.

5 Tech Gifts Every Mom Needs

AfterShokz Trek Titanium Headphones

If you are someone that uses headphones to listen to music, you must check out the AfterShokz Trek Titanium. We got to take a goodie bag home from the lunch and this was one of the products they gifted us. I tried it out and now I use it a ton! They are seriously some of the best wireless headphones I’ve used. I love that they are not typical earbuds that you have to stick in your ear. They sit kind of on the edge so they never fall off, they are sweat resistant and the sound quality is amazing! They come in 4 colors (I chose pink, of course!) You can even pair them to your phone to take calls. How cool right?

I like giving gifts that people will use and as a mom who uses her phone constantly to make calls, watch videos, listen to podcasts, music for working out etc… these are SO useful.

Canon PowerShot G9 X Mark II

I think all of us rely on our camera phone for most photos but as a former wedding photographer I’ve still got all my equipment that I like to use to take photos. As much as I love the iPhone camera, nothing beats a photo that comes out of my DSLR. But as a mom, carrying around a huge camera is pretty much the most impractical thing so I have been carrying around a point and shoot. Mine is a few years old, so I’ve been wanting an upgrade. When I saw the Canon PowerShot G9 X Mark II, it was the perfect size, lightweight and the photos and videos it takes are beautiful! It also has built in wifi and bluetooth which means you can send photos directly to your phone without having to connect it to your computer.

I love having the extra camera as I run out of room on my phone all the time and instead of sitting there deleting photos, I can just take photos on the camera and then transfer the photos I love to my phone. Oh and another fun thing? You can use your phone as a remote! So you can set it up to take photos somewhere else and then use your phone to take the picture. Yay for everyone being in the family photo and no awkward running back and forth!

Ecovacs DEEBOT R95

OK so I never got on the robot vacuum bandwagon but after seeing the Ecovacs DEEBOT R95, I really want one! Our house is a mixture of carpet and hardwood and we have two dachshunds that shed a ton so this little vacuum is just what we need. I love how it can map out your floorplan to know exactly where to vacuum. It also connects with our Amazon Echo or we can control it on our phones which makes cleaning super easy!

iHome iSP100

This was another product they gifted us at the lunch so I went home and tried it out and it was one of those products that I said “why didn’t I get one of these sooner?” It’s such a basic thing but so smart! The iHome iSP100 is a smart plug which means whatever you plug into it, you can control with either your phone (using their app) or when you pair it to your Amazon Alexa you can just talk to it to tell it what to do! This one is actually great for outdoor lights. I mean, so smart right? All you do is hit a button on your app and your outdoor lights are on!

We do have ours connected to our Amazon Echo so we just say “Alexa, turn on the lights” and voila, the lights are on! I love it! It’s great because it’s a small “chore” that we can give our daughter to do and she loves asking Alexa to turn the lights on or off.

Amazon Echo Plus

If you are a long time reader, you know I’m obsessed with the Amazon Echo. I’ve written about it several times and the 5 reasons why every mom needs the Amazon Echo is one of my most popular posts so I know a ton of you love your Echo as well! We got our Echo when it first came out and now there is a new version out, the Amazon Echo Plus and of course I want it! You can connect it to a bunch of other “smart” devices like lights, plugs, locks and just control all of those things with your Echo.

For our family we mostly use it for music. I listen to music and podcasts more than I watch TV so it’s something that I use a lot. We also try not to let our daughter watch too much TV so we often play kids music on the Echo and sing along to it or just have dance parties! But beyond the music we also use it to turn on/off lights (see above), ask about the weather, set timers and so much more! We’ve just found it to be so handy and I can’t imagine our house without it.

If you don’t have one of these little phone grip/holders, let me just tell you that you NEED one! Especially if you take lots of photos as it helps you stabilize your phone or if you look at your phone in bed and have had your phone fall on your face (admit it, it’s happened to you too!) 🙂 You can easily hold your phone in your hand and it won’t move or fall out. It really helps if you have small hands and an iphone plus type phone where it’s a bit too large to fit in your hand.

“TREAT YOURSELF” GIFTS FOR THE BUSY WOMEN IN YOUR LIFE

My daughter and I are obsessed with bath bombs. For her, mostly the ones that turn your bath water into crazy colors but for me, I love the ones that can help me relax! These ones have really great essential oils that make your bath smell great and are great for your skin. Also you get 6 of them for $16 which is an amazing price for how great these are!

BATH BOMBS GIFT SET

How pretty is this credit card holder? I love the color and the pearl accents! Also the keychain/lanyard is such a great feature! I love having something that I can just grab and run out the door. Sometimes when I walk to the grocery store, I really don’t want to be carrying a big bag when I know that I’ll have groceries to carry back so this is the perfect solution. The back even has a clear ID slot! It’s pricier than the other items on this list but for under $100, it’s well worth the price.

OK so this is less on the useful side but it’s so pretty that I had to share! It’s something that I wouldn’t buy for myself but if I got it as a gift, I would love it! I love having pretty items to keep on my vanity and this is definitely something that I would keep out. It’s under $10 so it’s a great stocking stuffer or secret santa gift!
