A little office look for my new favorite top. I am such a sucker for bow tops and striped tops so the combination was made for me! These pictures are pretty indicative of the weather we are having and the one good thing is that when it’s not raining here, it’s perfect lighting because it’s just one giant softbox. When I was in Chicago it was so hot, I just couldn’t stand it. As much as I complain about the weather here, I really appreciate the cool weather after being in hot, humid weather for a week!
I’m a total classic pump kind of girl. Even though you’d think they’d all be the same, they are all different to me in some way. I fell in love with these the moment that I saw them and they are just perfect to me.
I got mine at Nordstrom and unfortunately they aren’t sold online (I don’t think any Chanel merchandise is except for cosmetics, vintage jewelry and vintage bags) but I was there this weekend and they still had them AND they now have them in several colors! I love these two and they also had them in white with black cap toes.
They were definitely a splurge and I spent a full week contemplating if I should keep them or not but I was thoroughly convinced after one of my favorite enablers told me “You can wear them forever… You can be buried in them.” I laughed but had to agree. 🙂
I took these photos this weekend when we went out for a casual little breakfast/snack at Grand Central Bakery. Those delicious looking things are their seasonal danishes which essentially is a super flaky croissant like pastry covered in a maple glaze. It’s so yummy and I’ve never had anything like it before! (and no I didn’t eat both, hubs and I shared one and then we took one home) 🙂
You may have noticed the blog has been a little quiet lately and it’s
mainly due to our BRAND NEW website and the release of our Spring
Collection! I’m SO happy and excited to finally share them with you all
and I’m actually just relieved that I may be able to get more than 3
hours of sleep now. LOL! But really, I’m very proud of our new website
and my sister and I are even more excited for our fun spring pieces!
I’ve been wearing them tons lately and I think (hope) that you guys will love
them as much as we do. I’ve got a jam packed week ahead with several very fun events that I’m looking forward to, one being the Madewell shopping party that I mentioned in my last post. I will be bringing some of our new pieces to style with their clothing so you can try some on and see it in person! 🙂 I really hope you guys can make it. Thanks to those of you who’ve sent me messages letting me know that you are coming, I appreciate it and can’t wait to see you and hang out! pssst… I’ll also be giving out a little present + exclusive discount code for my readers that come! haha, a little incentive never hurt right?
Oh and our new site has the capability to create accounts so that you can login and won’t have to always put in your information every time you order and you can create a wishlist etc… If you create an account with us this week, we’ll give you a $10 credit to use on your next order!
This is an outfit from the fall, hence all the leaves around me but it never made it on the blog because I didn’t like it much. I mean, I think it’s a good outfit in concept but the pants didn’t fit me so it just looks bad. BUT… I get a lot of questions on ASOS sizing (I know, it’s a bit crazy!) so I thought I’d post these pants to give you guys an idea of the fit of their regular sizing pants as opposed to their Petite Sizing which you can see a pair on me in this lookbook. (Both are a size 2) They are much too big on me and throughout the day they seemed to stretch even more and by the end of the day were falling around my hips. I could belt it but then it bunched really weird so now these are relegated to the back of my closet and probably won’t be worn unless I can convince my tailor to slim them down for me for not too crazy of a cost. It’s a shame because I love the style and the color and I really wanted them to work. I didn’t think that petite sizing would make much of a difference (my usual take on petite sizing is slightly smaller fit and shorter inseam but not a crazy difference) but I’d say it’s at least a full size and a half bigger so be warned when ordering pants from ASOS. I got to meet up with Jean last night (more on that later!) who is the queen of petite sizing and fits and I was talking to her about how I don’t tend to buy petite sizing in pants because the inseams are always too short for me but for ASOS, petite sizing is definitely the way to go! Just thought I’d share the tip with those of you that always wonder what size to order and if you should get the regular or petite size. 🙂
P.S. I’m on a flats kick and am loving cap toe flats, check out my top picks over on the Smarter blog!
I am really good at keeping my side of the closet organized and I’m the type of person that has a hanger for every piece of clothing. Well, my side of the closet is full so I keep some of my stuff onto my husband’s side and his side is usually a mess. Anyway, he’s been searching for a pair of corduroy pants that he just got at J Crew but couldn’t find them and I just assumed that it was just lost in his messy pile of clothes. He searched high and low for about a week and the whole time asking me to keep an eye out for them. One day we were in the closet talking and he asked me about it again and I said I hadn’t seen them and then as I reached in to get these pants that I’m wearing in this lookbook, lo and behold, guess what’s hanging on my pants hanger? HIS corduroys! OMG, I burst out laughing and I couldn’t stop laughing. I had been hiding them the whole time without knowing it. I had thought they were my cords that had fallen into his pile and just put them on my hanger without even looking at them. I still can’t stop laughing thinking about how he tore his side of the closet apart searching for them when they were just hanging there the whole time. LOL!
P.S. I looove accessorizing my gadgets, don’t you? 😉 Check out my picks here!
What I’m Wearing
*Forever 21 Sweater – It’s only $12.50 but I’ll tell you, probably best to wash on delicate and line dry. I made the mistake of not doing that and it’s now completely shrunken and misshapen. A better alternative might be this cute textured knit from Anthrpologie. I’m also loving yellow striped sweaters like this one or this one with wider stripes from Gap. *Madewell Rail Straight Jeans – a bit baggier than their legging jeans that I usually wear. *Happy Scarf Polka Dot Scarf (gifted from Happy Scarf) – This scarf is super soft, I often just keep it on when I get home because I love how soft it is and how warm it keeps me.
*Vintage Chanel Bag – borrowed from my mom. She’s not the original owner as she bought it vintage about 10 years ago so we’re not sure exactly how old it is but it’s still in fantastic shape.
*Prada Booties – my favorite and they are from last year. I got super lucky last month and found them on the sale rack at Nordstrom in purple! Low cut booties definitely work better on my shorty legs so I love the Cole Haan booties or these Vince Camuto booties (on sale!) which are great alternatives to my Prada ones.
*t+j Designs bracelets – get FREE shipping on all orders!
Kimberlee from I have a degree on this did a post on “dog photo bombing” in fashion bloggers photos that I thought was so cute. And although mine is not a true photo bomb (mostly it’s a forcing my dog to be in my picture. lol) Macho’s been “photo bombing” mine lately, mostly out of necessity. The only time we brave it outdoors these days (it’s mainly too cold/windy/rainy) is when we walk the dogs so that’s also when we take outfit pics. I get so insanely jealous when I see the outfit photos of bloggers that live in Southern California because in every picture, they actually have sun. And they are wearing shorts. SHORTS! I can’t even imagine pulling out shorts right now. Sometimes, I get so cold that I have to wear leggings under my jeans! Nobody is jealous of that. Nobody. haha!
My husband and I have an annual tradition of where we treat ourselves (TREAT YO SELF – please tell me you watch Parks and Recreation) 🙂 to a nice dinner for the holidays before work, family and friend parties/dinners/get togethers jam pack our schedules. It’s nice to celebrate the holidays just the two of us. I love my family and spending the holidays with them but something about celebrating some moments with just my husband really makes it special. Anyway, it’s completely not necessary to dress up anywhere you go in Seattle, even at the fanciest of restaurants as it is a very casual city. And although the weather was crappity crap I felt like dressing up to feel a bit pretty that night, so put on a very girly ensemble. I adore bow tie blouses and this one from ShopSosie is perfect. I love the light material, the flowy sleeves and of course the bow tie.
I hope you all are enjoying the holiday season! I’m getting a bit caught up in the stress and excitement of everything so am looking forward to finish wrapping all the gifts and getting a nap or two in and snuggling with my puppies this weekend. 🙂 Happy Friday!
**Despite Monday’s post that I wrote last week, I wore this outfit this weekend so this actually is a recent lookbook! 🙂 Sometimes scheduling my posts ahead contradicts myself. haha!**
