I love the big cardigans like this that you can wrap around yourself and
cozy up in. It’s like the most acceptable way to wear a blanket out in public! I couldn’t resist wearing a dress without tights before temps dropped
too low (it’s totally too low now!) love how this is a bit summery but
also the colors work great for the fall.
New chain styles and colors in the store now! And for those of you that requested silver, we finally have them in. Everything is priced under $34, check it out! Plus for this week only, if you spend over $40, you get one of our Pop of Color chain bracelets for FREE! use code FREECHAIN at checkout.
What I’m Wearing OASAP floral wrinkled blouse (c/o) – Here in a different color scheme. It’s a lot more wrinkly in person than it is in their picture. I thought it was supposed to be wrinkly so I left it but I’ll steam it before I wear it next time to see if I can get it a little less wrinkly. Madewell Shorts – no longer available. Madewell is offering an additional 30% off all sale! My picks are these lace shorts, floral shorts, the market popover and the colorpop jeans. I have the jeans in red and purple and they are the softest, most comfortable jeans I own. You can see the market popover and the jeans on me in this post. Miss Dior Peeptoe Pumps – here in a higher platform and closed toe. You’ve probably heard me talk about these pumps a lot. They are a big time favorite of mine (I have them in 2 colors) and they are the kind of shoes that I will never get tired of. Classic and comfy! Alexander Wang Rocco Bag – why does my bag look like I have nothing in it? Oh, it’s because it has practically nothing in it! I can only carry a few things in there because the purse weighs a ton on it’s own! Just to let you know in case you are thinking about buying it. OMG have you seen his newest satchel? It is GORGEOUS. Definitely adding that to my wishlist. t+j Designs Star Studs (comes in a set with pink ones too). Gold and White Enamel Bangle Setand Pink Enamel Bracelet. New bow necklace – coming next week! It’s one of my favorites of our latest designs. It’s so simple and sweet and comes in 4 colors. Chloe cat eye sunglasses – similar, I love the scallop ones as well.
If you can believe it, I just steamed my shorts right before taking this picture. These are the wrinkliest shorts ever! I sat down for about 10 mins and it looked like this. But then since my shirt was so wrinkly, I thought I’d just wear a completely wrinkled outfit 🙂
I am really good at keeping my side of the closet organized and I’m the type of person that has a hanger for every piece of clothing. Well, my side of the closet is full so I keep some of my stuff onto my husband’s side and his side is usually a mess. Anyway, he’s been searching for a pair of corduroy pants that he just got at J Crew but couldn’t find them and I just assumed that it was just lost in his messy pile of clothes. He searched high and low for about a week and the whole time asking me to keep an eye out for them. One day we were in the closet talking and he asked me about it again and I said I hadn’t seen them and then as I reached in to get these pants that I’m wearing in this lookbook, lo and behold, guess what’s hanging on my pants hanger? HIS corduroys! OMG, I burst out laughing and I couldn’t stop laughing. I had been hiding them the whole time without knowing it. I had thought they were my cords that had fallen into his pile and just put them on my hanger without even looking at them. I still can’t stop laughing thinking about how he tore his side of the closet apart searching for them when they were just hanging there the whole time. LOL!
P.S. I looove accessorizing my gadgets, don’t you? 😉 Check out my picks here!
*Shorts: J Crew Chino Shorts (Buy here but out of my yellow color. The longer 9″ shorts still have my color and on sale for $19.99)
*Shoes: Dior – Miss Dior Pumps (Buy here in black. Did you see the gorgeous blue velvet versions?)
*Clutch: vintage Gucci – I am so into gray bags/clutches this season. Did you see the RM MAC clutch in gray? Love it! Also really liking this gray Melie Bianco clutch and it’s on sale!
*Sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Buy here – mine are the gold frames or similar – I like the black frame with the gray lens)
This week went by SO fast, I can hardly believe it’s Friday! Earlier this week I had a chance to meet up with the gorgeous Rachel of Vuesociety.com (which is her blog turned into online clothing boutique – check it out, she’s got some amazing stuff!) and it is so nice to meet up with other entreprenurial ladies that are going through the exact same things that I am in starting our own business. Everyone just sees the front end of things but the back end of things is truly the hardest part! It was nice sharing our stories and laughing about all the things we had to go through just to get through our store launches and how there are still so many things that we want to change. One of the things that I miss about the corporate world is just being around like-minded people and being able to share and bounce ideas off each other and get feedback about your work. I realize that now that I don’t work in a traditional office, I need that more than ever!
We met at Cake Envy a new cupcake shop in Greenlake. I’m a serious cupcake lover and have been to almost every cupcake place in the greater Seattle area and I can honestly say that Cake Envy was one of the best cupcakes I’ve ever had! I’m not one that loves frosting and I usually shave off at least half of the frosting that most cupcake bakeries put on but they had the lightest most yummiest – like whipped cream – frosting ever. I brought one home to my husband and he agreed. Definitely try it out if you are in the area!
I’ve mentioned before my love of daytime sparkle. I can’t get enough of it! I just think it’s so fun so when PB&J Boutique sent over this Flowers by Zoe top, I had to put it on right away. I think I’ll pair it with a slim skirt and black heels next time for a night on the town!
I forgot to take photos with the purse but wanted to show you guys the cute print on it. I borrowed it from my mom and it’s one of my favorites just because it’s the classic Chanel shape but the print is just so playful and cute. This bag is over 10 years old but you would never know! Chanel is kind of annoying me with their continual price increases but I guess if my mom can carry this for 10+ years and then I use it for many more years, I guess I can’t complain too much about the price. (although I do think it’s getting to ridiculous amounts). Vintage and resale is the way to go now 🙂
I bought my blazer ages ago and I like that this one is a little bit cropped as all the blazers I buy now are a longer length. The quality and the fit is fantastic so I’ll be holding onto this blazer for awhile. LaRok still makes lots of cute blazers, I like the subtleness of the lace on this jacket to give it some texture. The Starburst blazer has fun detailing on the lapels or this one with the shoulder embellishments is fab too and under $80!
They have a lot of cute stuff for the summer like this tank with the shoulder embellishments and this lace tank (you know I love lace!) that I’m thinking about ordering.
Also get an exclusive discount for I am Style-ish readers! 15% off your order at PB&J boutique with the code “style”! Not applicable on sale items.
You probably already know I’m obsessed with Madewell denim and these leggings are so cute and a great price! I also just got these Rag & Bone The Zipper Jean and I love them! They fit really well but size up because they have no stretch to them.
I don’t mention this necklace a lot but a lot of you sharp eyed readers have noticed me wearing it quite a bit and asked about it so just wanted to point it out here. It’s such a simple delicate piece that I tend to wear it when I want to leave my accessories unfussy. It’s one of my favorites!
The bracelet I’m wearing is from Jewelmint. Have you joined yet? It’s like a jewelry of the month club and the picks are always so cute and unique. I’m kind of addicted to it! I love getting my monthly picks and I always take forever deciding which one I want to buy. I decided to make it a bit more colorful by braiding some embroidery floss to the sides. Here’s my invite to join if you need one!
I decided after this lookbook that the big football shoulder pads on this blazer make me look bigger than I really am. Need to think about taking those out… Other than that, I’m a fan of this blazer. Funny story… we stopped by this building and the windows were mirrored, like true mirrored windows, not those kinds that you can see your reflection but also see inside. So I think “Perfect! I can check on my outfit before we shoot this lookbook.” I mean I realized that they are windows but I’m thinking that since I’m on the side of the building, I should be okay. I’m all checking myself out when some guy walks out of the door (which is a few feet away from the mirror I’m looking at) and is like “um, even though these are mirrored, we can see what you’re doing.” and all I could do was laugh because they probably were sitting in their conference room or something watching me check my teeth. LOL! I didn’t care though and we still shot the lookbooks around the building. I’ll just know for next time not to use the mirrors! I get asked about shooting my lookbooks in public and with people watching me but I really don’t care who watches. I mean I’ve had cars slow down just to watch me get my picture taken. I just ignore it or sometimes I’ll smile at them and usually they just smile back and move on. It’s really nothing to be self conscious about! Sometimes we get stopped by nice people who ask if husband wants to join in the picture and they’ll help us take it. haha! People don’t know that you are taking an outfit photo for a blog, they’ll just assume that you are taking a picture because you like the area so if you take yourself out of the mindset that it’s a “lookbook” photo instead of just a regular photo then you won’t be so self conscious.
Oooh, I love the look of this ASOS Lace Jacket. It would be so pretty over a floral dress or with the skirt I’m wearing. The Cropped Lace Blazer from Forever 21 is super cute too.
Downtown Seattle just got their first Forever 21 store and it’s massive! I stopped in the day before the grand opening on accident as I was just in downtown shopping and saw that it was open. The sales associate told me that they didn’t even know it would be open but they got it ready fast enough so they were letting people shop a day early. It was nice since not many people knew so it wasn’t the usual madhouse AND it was all clean and neat! Two things that I never expect a Forever 21 to be 🙂
Anyway, the top I’m wearing is one that I picked up while I was there. I just got it a few weeks ago so it may be at the stores but I can’t find it online. However they have a lot of cute blouses now. Adore this top with the texture of the lace and the floral print and the Chiffon Floral Print Top is pretty too and would look great underneath a blazer.
They don’t have mine anymore but I love this one in the vibrant blue. Or check out the Petal Skirt which is similar and on sale. This skirt from Lucky Brand is super similar to mine and on sale!
I love the Miss Dior pumps. I’m thinking about getting them in black too. But you know how I like my fun color shoes so I always like to see if they bring out different colors for every season. There are a lot of cute blue pumps. I really like the shape of these Ivanka Trump pumps – on sale. Or these bow pumps in the dark blue are really cute too (and on sale.)
I love this clutch but it’s really hard to find the bright colors anymore! I’m glad I got the blue one and the pink one when I could. Seems like I can only find the neutrals now. Let’s hope she brings back some of her fun colors! Also, if you are wondering, I totally gave those tassels a “hair cut”. haha! I didn’t like the look of the long tassels but then I didn’t like the look of the shorter tassels too so now I just took them completely off.
It felt like a bow kind of day so I went for it with my accessories! I heart this bow belt. I’ve worn it much more than I actually thought I would. I’ve never used a belt as an accessory as much as this one. I only wish that I had bought it in the other colors! The building that I’m standing in front of is really really old. It used to be stable housing for the delivery horses for a department store way back in the day! I love these kinds of buildings with so much history around it. It’s now a new building but they kept the old bricks and built around it which is pretty neat!
I dressed Savvy up to join me in a lookbook picture but she wasn’t having it. You’d think being dogs of photographers they’d be used to pictures by now but they like to rebel and turn the noses away from the camera. We were lucky to get this shot! 🙂
J.Crew Factory indigo skirt
They brought my skirt back but it’s only on the J. Crew Factory site which I think you can only get to during the weekends. Click on the link above, but if you can’t get to it, maybe check the factory stores! I love the little bit of poof on this skirt!
J.Crew Cotton pimm skirt
Or you could go for this adorable skirt that’s on sale on the regular site for $19.99!
OPI Suede Russian Navy
Have you tried the OPI Suede line? It’s their matte polish and I really like it. This is a nice shade of blue for the fall and it’s got a hint of sparkle!
