I truly can’t believe halloween is less than 2 weeks away! We LOVE making costumes for halloween and I get so excited figuring out what we will be. I am still taking advantage of Layla and now Edie wanting to dress up with me, so I wanted to share some cute and easy mommy and me halloween costumes as well as share the costumes we ended up going with for this year!

#1 CAT AND MOUSE COSTUMES

Layla really wanted matching mommy and me costumes. I found these black cats that were perfect for us as Layla LOVES to dress up and anything with a tutu is totally up her alley! So I decided to make Edie into a cute mouse! You can shop my black cat dress costume, and Layla’s kids cat tutu costume. I bought the ears from a craft store but I found some similar on Amazon below!

This costume would be so easy to DIY as the simple face paint and ears really complete the whole costume! Any cute dress or tutu makes the perfect addition and you’re ready for trick-or-treating.

#2 DOROTHY AND GLINDA COSTUME

I thought this mother and daughter Dorothy and Glinda costume was just adorable! This iconic duo is a great match for a mother and daughter pair but you could get the whole family involved as there are so many recognizable characters from the Wizard of Oz!

I can’t handle how cute this little sheep costume is! Perfect for your mini, and the Bo Peep costume would be another easy DIY if you were in a time crunch. Just a midi skirt, gingham top and braids and you’re good to go!

We are big Disney fans so when I saw this idea to dress up as Cruella De Ville and a Dalmatian I just loved it! The Dalmatian costume is perfect for infants to older kids, and again it would be so easy to DIY the Cruella costume as all you need is a black dress and temporary hair paint or a wig!

I’m so happy it’s spring and have been looking forward to getting some new clothes for me and the girls. I’m loving the spring fashion collections from Walmart and found so many cute things for everyone in our family!

You know me and my love for mommy and daughter matching outfits. I found so many options at Walmart! I’m not as much a fan of twinning as much as matching so I like to stick with similar colors and styles. My off the shoulder dress is super comfy and lightweight and Layla’s cold shoulder dress is a bit like mommy’s but age appropriate for her.

Layla does not go anywhere without at least 3 toys by her side. In an effort so that mommy does not have to end up carrying everything or something gets lost, I started having her carry a bag or backpack wherever we go. How cute is this mini backpack that is perfect for her size and the best part, it holds everything she needs!

There were so many great option for shoes for Layla, but knowing how much she loves bows and glitter, I had to get her these adorable sparkly bow sneakers. She adores them and has been wearing them to school every day!

Being that I’m still breastfeeding and trying to lose the baby weight, I’m always looking out for clothes that I’ll be comfortable in. This dress is perfect for both those needs, and I feel great in it. For chillier days, I’ll be adding a denim jacket over it and it will be a great dress to pack and take on our vacation to Hawaii!

Isn’t this hat so fun? I’m a huge fan of hats for the summer and love all the cute options I found at Walmart. I’m a sucker for pom poms! The wedges are also a great buy, I love how comfy they are, and they go with everything! For a shorty like me, nude wedges are always a win in my book. They make me taller and help elongate the legs which is definitely something I need!

I love being able to find such cute and trendy pieces at Walmart, you can’t beat the prices and the quality is great! I’ve been doing lots of browsing and adding some more pieces to my cart.

A casual Spring outfit for myself and my daughter typically looks something like this. A good pair of skinny jeans, a cute off shoulder/cold shoulder top and sandals. I found these great pieces that I know I will be able to mix and match to create more Spring looks for both of us.

Spring is officially here and I can’t believe that Easter is coming up! I love any excuse for mommy and me outfits so here are some cute mommy and me Easter dresses and outfit ideas!

My oldest daughter loves to get dressed up just as much as I do, and she gets so excited to match outfits with me. I am embracing this phase as long as I can!

Mommy and Me Easter Outfit Ideas

A pretty dress or skirt paired with a denim jacket is a simple and cute outfit for Spring and perfect for the holiday.

Keep the colors similar so that you can match your mini! Pastels are of course the perfect color palette for easter outfits. I love matching jean jackets but you could even do a matching cardigan for both of you!

If you ever need an excuse to wear pink, Easter is a great occasion! When I find a dress for my daughter like this bunny dress, I look in my closet for a similar color scheme to wear. Pink is always an easy go-to for me which is why it works so well for mommy and me outfits!

Textures are a fun detail when looking for dresses for yourself and your kids. For kids, I love to find sequins, tulle and sparkles. For moms, textures like lace and eyelet work really well!

Although I love to be matchy with my girls, I find that finding non-matching but coordinating outfits also are a lot of fun and look great in photos!

After what felt like such a long and cold winter, to say I am excited for Spring is an understatement. I love the warmer weather and being able to spend time outside with my daughters. With a new season always comes a little bit shopping :), and I have found some really great items for both myself and my daughters lately so today I wanted to share what I’ve found and some ideas for mom and daughter outfits for Spring!

I love tunics for Spring as they are are perfect to transition into the warmer weather and I love that I can pair them with both jeans or leggings and cute espadrilles for an effortless outfit that looks put together. This one I am wearing is on sale and comes in a few different print options.

Happy New Year friends! I can’t believe it is 2019 and I am so excited to see what is in store for this next year. One of the things I always look forward to at the beginning of the year is the Nordstrom Half-yearly Sale, so I wanted to do a quick round up for you of pieces I am eyeing/already own that are such a steal right now and that I think you’ll love. Check out my picks below!

1: Leith Ribbed Shawl Cocoon Sweater –

A wardrobe staple. So easy to wear and looks stylish!

2: Leith Ruched Long Sleeve Dress –

My favorite dress!! I own this in a few colors, it was so great during pregnancy and now after too. Comfy, cute and now under $25!

3: Halogen Relaxed V-neck Cashmere Sweater –

Cashmere for under $60?! Yes please! I have the striped version but it comes in a ton of different colors.

4: Caslon Peplum Tee –

I love the peplum detail that amps up this basic long sleeve and it’s now under $20! I wear it with everything! I paired it here with the Cocoon Sweater and the Open Front Cardigan!

5: Henley –

This top is so pretty and could be worn casually, to the office, for a night out and everything in between. Again, wearing the Cocoon Sweater as it goes with everything so I have it in two colors.

Can you believe it is almost Halloween? I always love dressing up for Halloween with my daughter and with the baby also coming so soon I am trying to plan ahead this year. We love to get creative and make our own costumes, so I wanted to share a couple of cute DIY options.

My best tips for DIY Costumes

My two biggest tips when it comes to DIY costumes is first to check what you have already, as often times you may have some items that will work already in your closet and in your craft supplies. And the second tip is that if you make the main part of costume fairly simple and really focus on fun accessories, it cuts the time and cost down a ton!

DIY Mommy & Me Unicorn Costume

My daughter is obsessed with unicorns so I knew I had to make our own unicorn costumes. Making the tutu myself took the longest out of the entire process and even that was very simple to do. The main requirement was lots of glitter and we found cute horn headbands to match which brought it all together. My daughter LOVED wearing this and I thought both looks turned out so pretty! DIY Snow White Costume

I am obsessed with Disney princesses and when I was looking through my closet this yellow midi skirt jumped out at me and I knew it’d be perfect for a Snow White costume. Since I already had the skirt, I went to the thrift store to find the rest of the items I needed and was able to create this costume for under $20! Thrift stores are a secret weapon for DIY halloween costumes and really make it easy to create something cute AND affordable. Head here to find directions to make this costume yourself!

DIY Mommy & Me Strawberry and Banana Costume

Another cute mommy and me idea! These strawberry and banana costumes were so easy to make (took under 30 minutes) and were so comfortable, which was a win win for us. My daughter loves Minnie Mouse so this costume was a no brainer for me. This is by far the easiest DIY costume I’ve done as I only needed to get the tutu, ears and some felt to complete it. The best tool to keep your eyebrows neat and pretty! Eyebrow Hair Remover

I microbladed my eyebrows a year ago which I still love. Check out my before and after! But I still get a ton of eyebrow hairs that grow all over the place and is so not cute. I discovered this handy little tool and I can’t live without it! It takes care of all those little hairs and combined with the microblading, I never have to worry about my brows again!
