Weekly Outfits: Hot and Cold

Seattle has these weird weather days where one day it’s so hot and sunny
and the next day it’s raining and cold and then hot again later in the
day, hence the reason why I’m wearing leggings one day and shorts the next!
A simple outfit for the office.  We do not have air conditioning at the office (most homes and businesses in Seattle do not!) so I have to make sure to stay cool there!

I wear this blazer a lot, but I can’t help it, it goes with everything!  And the scallop shorts are always a fave, I wish they came in other colors.

I got this at the beginning of the summer and silly me, didn’t realize that I bought a size too big until I wore it that day.  It’s Topshop so the sizing is always a little weird on me, but I love the print and the ruffle so I’m keeping it.  Think I will pair it with a blazer next time so it doesn’t look quite so boxy.  This Topshop ruffle tank is similar and really cute!

You can tell it was really hot that day as you’ll rarely find me in a tank top and shorts unless it’s really hot or I’m on a beach vacation!  I find that a tank top and shorts can veer on the too casual side so I dressed it up with this beautiful lace tank.  I just love the details of this lace but it’s super delicate so as one who loves to wear jewelry I can’t wear anything that may snag the material.  I stuck with some bangles and kept everything pretty neutral.

Weekly Outfits: Skirts and Dresses

Apparently it was a skirt week for me but most likely because I was too excited about our new skirts.  I have been wearing them non stop, they are the perfect summer skirt and I can’t wait to pair them with tights for the fall!

This was an easy outfit for the office and unlike how I wore it on my Monday post, I had to add my usual color.  I’ve had this pink blouse forever but forgot about it and recently re-discovered it in my closet.

I got these pumps at the last designer shoe sale and they are my current obsession.  I think I was in the mood for color this day as it’s not my typical outfit.  I love color but usually just let one color stand out.  I think that’s what summer does to me, I like to wear as many bright colors as possible!

These are practically like pajama shorts.  They aren’t, but they are so comfy that they should be!

Our new polka dot skirt that is my favorite out of our collection.  It’s just so feminine and fun, I love the polka dots!  I’ve been asked about sizing and yes, sizing runs a little weird.  We are working on our sizing to be consistent (and we promise that the next collection will have three size ranges) but this skirt in particular runs a bit small.  The small could fit an XS to small, just check our measurements in case you aren’t sure!

Another bright outfit but when I saw this dress on Shopbop, I couldn’t help but order it just to try it on.  Of course when I got it, I fell in love.

A new series! Weekly Outfits

Ever since I had my daughter, it’s been really hard to make time to take outfit photos.  I still wanted to share my outfits so I borrowed an idea from Cupcakes and Cashmere to take weekly outfit photos in my home office!  This way it’s easier for me to just take a snap with my tripod and remote.  Although I do have to admit that I may sometimes forget to take photos or I’m not in my home office that day but I’m just going to do it as I can but will try to make this a weekly series on the blog.  A note about the links: I’ve been doing less shopping these days and exploring my closet so a lot of these outfits are old pieces but the ones that I bought recently and are still in stores I marked with an “exact” in the link.  Other links are similar styles that I could find.

What I’m Wearing
Joa Lace Back tee – I got mine not too long ago but it’s sold out now, maybe you can still find it in the stores.  Here is a similar tee with a lace back.  I love the surprise in the back!
Rag and Bone Jeans – I have several pairs of Rag and Bone jeans as they are my favorite brand and fit.  They actually have a great sale right now and I grabbed this pair for 50% off!
Louboutin Simple Pumps –
Prada Crossbody – I love this crossbody bag, it’s the perfect little bag as it has lots of pockets and slots for credit cards so you never have to bring an additional wallet or anything.  And it comes with a mirror!  But, ohmygoodness, I love this new crossbody.  So cute!

Not the most exciting or creative of outfits but this is what I wear on most of the days that I’m home with my baby girl.  She’s crawling up a storm now so I’m always on the floor playing with her or trying to keep her away from everything she wants to touch but is not supposed to!  When I walk out the door to go somewhere I always grab a statement necklace to dress up the outfit and that’s one of the best parts of owning your own jewelry line, I have tons of options!

Lookbook: Change of Scenery

What I’m Wearing
Alice and Olivia Coat – Similar here but in plaid.  I LOVE this coat and have been wearing it to death since I got it at the beginning of the winter.  I love the contrast of the leather sleeves with the wool body and the gold buttons.
J Crew Plaid Shirt – on sale and now take 40% off sale with code YAYSALE.  I also own this plaid and this bow shirt that I love!
Madewell Skinny Jeans – I’ve also been love these J Crew Toothpick Jeans.
Prada Booties – Mine are old but I’m loving these Prada booties from this season and these are really cute look for less!

Oh man, it’s been a long time since I took a lookbook photo in a different location.  I admit most of these days when the camera is out it’s aimed at my little one (how could we not, look at those cheeks!) or I’m in the picture with her so lookbook photos are now the last thing on my mind.  But we went to eat at Marination Ma Kai (it’s a must go if you visit Seattle! The food is fabulous and the views are amazing! As you can see by the engagement photo session that I photobombed in the first photo.  LOL!) It wasn’t very nice out but I do love capturing the gray Seattle days so decided to take advantage of it for a lookbook.

Lookbook: Champagne Gems

What I’m Wearing
Halogen Sweater – happy to have grabbed this on sale, it’s the perfect fit and love the zipper in the back.  I just added this sweater to my cart, I’m loving the baggier fit and the colors it comes in.
SheInside Blouse – I know, I own way too many printed blouses, I can’t help it, I just love them.  I also recently got this feather print and this heart print.
Henry & Belle skinny jeans – I was introduced to this brand when I was in Chicago at an event I was at for my jewelry line as they are a Chicago based brand and picked up a couple pairs while I was there.  I’m now totally obsessed and wanting more!  The fit and stretch of these jeans are perfection.  I got these coated jeans as well and they are awesome.  They have a leather like look but they are super soft unlike other coated denim that I own that’s stiff.  Just a note to size down on these, they run big.
Over the knee boots –  I got mine ages ago but these are similar.  I don’t know what I’d do without my over the knee boots, they are such a necessity during this season!  If you’re wanting flat OTK boots, I love these and they’re under $100!
Prada Saffiano Tote – I’m still loving my new bag and I might be crazy but I kinda want to get another in a different color!  I do love it in the smaller size too.
Champagne Gems Necklace – also comes in a gift set with earrings!
Watch and Bracelet set – If you are still looking for gifts, we’ve got a lot of gift sets that people are loving!
I’m desperately wanting to do something new with my hair.  Thinking about going back in for a digital perm.  I loved it before, although I didn’t love how dry and brittle my hair became afterwards but right now, I’m willing to risk it for the look!  Oh and yes, the postpartum shedding has finally started for me.  My hair is falling out like nobody’s business.  It is getting so annoying!

Lookbook: Green

What I’m Wearing
SheInside Coat – I love wearing bright coats in the winter, this yellow one with a bow is on my list!  It comes in blue too.
Oasap Blouse – I’m always a sucker for polka dots.  It’s almost a neutral for me, I pair it with everything!  This one is super similar (love that it comes in black with white dots) and it’s on sale for $22!
J Crew Pixie Pant – A favorite!  I just got them in the tuxedo leather stripe too.  The perfect dressed up pant but extremely comfy to wear all day.  (Just a note: they run big, I wear a 00 in these and I’m typically a size 25 in jeans.)
Stuart Weitzman Booties –  Stuart Weitzman does make some comfortable shoes, I can wear these booties all day!  I typically go for the booties that are cut lower on the ankle so they don’t chop off my legs (my already short legs don’t like looking any shorter) so I’m loving these as well.

I just got back from Chicago for a holiday party that my sister and I held for t+j Designs.  It was such an amazing time and thank you to everyone that came out to support us!  We loved it and hope to do one every year!  I also got to experience my first plane ride with the baby but happy to report she did wonderful.  She’s funny, she’s just like me and gets super fussy when we stay at home too long (I hate being stuck at home, I love being out and about but when you work from home it’s easy to not leave the house for a couple of days.)  When I take her out, she’s so happy to be see the world that she is the most calm and easy baby.  We’ve taken advantage of that and take her out to restaurants and shopping all the time and she just loves it!
