Now that it’s officially spring, I’m super excited to pull out more brights but because we are still having quite a few rainy days, I’m still trying to keep it cold weather appropriate.
If you noticed, I’m wearing my blouse two ways, with the bow tied in the front or let loose and with a necklace. I like that you can go either way with it! I went on a bow blouse streak a few years ago and own quite a few. I just love the simple accent of a bow! If you don’t have one yet, I highly suggest you get one! They are so versatile and look cute dressed up for work or casual with a pair of skinny jeans. I love this one and it’s under $30!
A few more bow blouse picks:
I’ve found only two places where I’m able to get pants that fit me well which is ASOS and J Crew and that are reasonably priced. I love that they have quite a few cropped pants so that I don’t have to worry about getting anything hemmed. Here’s a few that I love and some that are on their way to me!
Oh yes, another sequin skirt. But I just love them! I mean, this sequin star skirt is just the cutest, I want to wear it all the time! I decided to try to make it a “work appropriate” look since most of the time I save my sequin skirts for night. I have an unconventional work environment so of course sequins may not be appropriate for all work places but it works for mine, especially since the skirt is our design 🙂
What I’m Wearing:
ASOS Sweater (old) – see below for similar sweater options!
I love graphic tees and sweaters and this cozy little sweater is a fave. I don’t usually stay with a black and white palette. I love my bright colors! But with the sequins I didn’t want it to be too much. I either work from home or my office (which is about a 45 min drive from my house) depending on what I need to get done. I needed a change of scenery that day so my assistant and I headed to one of my favorite coffee shops to work and grabbed some photos while we were there. It’s nice to have a change of scenery once in awhile, I felt like it inspired me and was able to come up with some new ideas!
On another note, watch out when working around coffee, jewelry and laptops, I totally spilled my latte all over my laptop! I had just picked it up from the barista and didn’t have the lid on just yet which of course means spills the entire thing all over the place. Luckily I had my laptop cover on so my actual laptop itself was spared from getting coffee on it, thank goodness!
It’s been a busy 2015 and my sister and I are working on so many fun new things this year! We added so many new designs to our clothing line and the sequin skirts are one of my top favorite things ever!
We also have this skirt in a midi pencil and maxi which looks amazing. I’ve always been a fan of short skirts being that I’m on the shorter side with short little legs, I can often pull of the shorter styles better than long styles, but I’m embracing the other lengths as well! This top is such the perfect shade to go with so many things. When it’s untucked it’s very flowy with pretty pleats on the back. It looks great with leggings as well.
On another note, clearly I need a tan 🙂 In the middle of winter I usually don’t care if I’m tan or not. I embrace my paleness but when I pull the skirts out, I realize that I’m probably blinding people! LOL. I am a fan of self tanners but honestly they are all put away for the winter and I didn’t even want to bother with them right now. It’s kind of crazy how Seattle is having the most mild winter. No snow, very little rain and actually on the warm side! Don’t get me wrong, I love it, but I think all of us here are so confused by this winter!
I’ve only recently warmed up to the midi skirt. I didn’t love the length on me but I loved the look on everyone else. When my sister and I decided to add skirts to our line I was still unsure but after playing around with them and trying them out, I can say I’m a big fan!
Hope you guys had a great weekend! I know we here in Seattle like to complain about the rain and the gray weather but thank goodness it’s been a mild winter. I’m really feeling for those of you on the east coast, stay warm and stay safe!
Some new and exciting things happening with my business and just wanted to share with you all! First of all, we’ve expanded our clothing line and have added some super cute stuff! One of my very favorites is this heart print dress. It is absolutely darling and very flattering on.
And the red on my sister. For reference, I’m 5’2″ wearing the size small. My sister is 5’5″ and is wearing the medium.
And a few coats that we are just dying over. The bows and the hearts are just so us! I have a bow coat that everyone always asks me about but I got it last winter so we thought we’d create our own bow coat for our line! It also comes in cobalt blue.
The heart wool coat was so popular it sold out the first day we posted it to our site! We now only have one size Medium left (I’m wearing the small here)
And I’m in love with our heart print top! So easy to wear and goes with everything. The fabric is a thicker knit that holds its shape and it slightly cinches at the waist band so it’s a very slimming top to wear. It comes in white too.
As you probably know, the Seahawks are going to the Super Bowl again! How very exciting, it’s so fun to see all the Seahawks fans where ever I go. Last year was a bit different for me as they played against the Denver Broncos and my husband and his family are HUGE broncos fans (they are originally from Colorado) so I couldn’t share in the Seahawks excitement with everyone else. But this year is just so exciting with them going back again. SO… we put together some limited edition Seahawks tees! These are going so fast but we made sure to have a good amount on hand for all you stylish Seahawks fans out there.
Personally, I like this one the best and what you’ll see me in on Sunday 🙂
Coloring is off on my photos but the blue ink in all the tees do match the Seahawks blue, we made sure of it!
If you are in WA state and you order soon, you will get it within a day or two as we ship from our offices in Kent. If you are out of state and want it by the game, make sure to order by Wednesday!
It’s been SO crazy for me the past few weeks. Holiday season is crazy just in general but as a retailer, we are insanely busy, which is a good problem to have of course! I haven’t been able to put together all the posts that I’ve been wanting to. I’ve been in Chicago all last week to prep and attend the holiday event for my jewelry/clothing line which went amazing. It’s nice when people are able to touch and feel our items as it really makes a difference. Being an online retailer is tough because most of our interactions with our customers are done over the computer or sometimes over the phone so to be able to actually talk to people who have shopped with us before or even to people who are just introduced to our line is so exciting for me! Of course, traveling during this season is not great and I came home with the flu. I’ve been in bed for the past few days unable to do anything which is an awful feeling when you have a to-do list a mile long! Anyway, just getting back into things and wanted to get a post up as I have missed blogging!
A few months ago I was in Chicago to shoot the holiday lookbook for t+j Designs and I wanted to share a few photos here as I’m so proud of how they turned out!
My sister and I put together a holiday lookbook that featured some of our favorite
entrepreneurial and successful business women that we admire. Helen Berkun, who is a stylist and photographer, Christina Monley, who owns her own label Christina Karin, Jenn Lake who is the VP at Zapwater PR and Corri McFadden who owns EDrop Off. The shoot was photographed by Kirsten Miccoli at her studio, who shot my sister and I a few months back. We absolutely adore her work and she is wonderful to work with!
Our
clutches which have been great sellers, I think everyone loves a bit of
bling during the holidays and not just for their jewelry!
Check out the rest of our lookbook and shop everything featured here!
We also shot a Blogger Lookbook with a few of our favorite Chicago bloggers, Mary of Sportsanista, Megan of Stylish and Scatterbrained and Johanna of 101 things I love. I shot the majority of our photos and for the group photo our assistant shot them after I set everything up.
Me, Mary, Jen, Megan, Johanna
The girls looking so cute in our tees! Mary is also wearing our sequin
maxi which has sold out multiple times since we launched it! All of our
skirts are custom made for our line so it takes a little bit longer for
them production wise but so worth it. The sequin fabric we use is
stretchy and comfortable and the sequins go from black to silver
depending on how the sequins lay.
My sister and I wearing our new jackets. If you notice we love everything that’s jeweled and sparkly so of course we had to add some of that to our clothing!
I am so thankful for so much and especially this year as I’ve seen my daughter grow from a little baby to a very sweet little toddler, I truly can not believe how lucky I am.
I wanted to say thank you to all of you who spend a little bit of time of your day or week to read my blog. It really means a lot to me. And also for those of you who support my business, wether it be purchasing something, following us on instagram or facebook, or even just mentioning it to your friends/family, it means so much to me.
I hope, for those of you that are celebrating, that you all have a very happy thanksgiving!
