Sale alert! J Crew and t+j Designs!

J Crew has 30% off sale items right now.  (It’s not a lot but ebates has it at 1.5% cashback,
so don’t forget to use it to get a little bit extra savings.)  On
Friday I went shopping and tried on a few items including the Honeycomb Cable Sweater.  It was $39.99 in stores and 40% off.  Online it’s $54.99 and 30% off so not as good as a deal but still a great price.  See the sweater on Jean in a few different colors and her review as well.

I’m
wearing the XXS and is a good overall fit as I like that it’s slim
fitting on the sides (my apple shape does not fare well with chunky
knits + baggy sides.) and the sleeves are not too long.  The length is a
little on the short side for me as I have a short torso and I tend to like my sweaters a little
farther below my waistband to elongate it.  I passed on this but regretted it the next
day (as some of you know from my facebook).  Although looking at the pictures now, I do think I look a little chunky in it so probably a good thing that I passed.  One plus was the color and it looked fantastic with my Luxe Chain Crystal Necklace!
Two other things I tried on were this Paisley Blouse (not online but same print in a button up) which was $79.99 and 40% off (Style # 60333 if you want to call stores to see if they have it.) and the Glimmer Long Sleeve Tee that you’ve seen on me in bronze.  Now marked down to $59.99 and 40% off in stores and 30% off online.
I’m
wearing a size 0 in the Paisley Blouse.  Fit is a little loose and I
could have sized down if they had it but still doable and I fell in love
with the print so I took this one home with me.  In the Glimmer Tee I’m
wearing an XS here which I decided was just a bit too baggy on me and
since I already own the bronze in an XXS which fits a lot better, I
passed on this one as well.
My phone case is this Kate Spade Resin Case
that my brother and his girlfriend got me for Christmas.  So cute
right?  I have quite the collection of iPhone cases now, I love changing
them up!
Anyone else pick up great stuff at the J Crew sale?  I’m actually on the hunt for the silk Lucinda blouse in stores, I hope I can find it!
Also, my sister and I went a little
crazy marking stuff down on our jewelry line.  Check it out now before
we change our minds about the prices 🙂

About:
If a dress has an interesting or low-cut back I like to take a page out
of Holly Golightly’s book and use jewelry to also adorn the backside. A
longer necklace can be great for adding sparkle to both the front and
back of an outfit. Also, hats can be a great enhancer to an outfit while
holding up the hair to show off gorgeous statement earrings.

What I’m wearing:
dress: urban outfitters
necklace: stella and dot
earrings: ten thousand villages (old)
bowler hat: borrowed from boyfriend
jacket: gap (old)

The theme for this look is called Playful Fall. I wanted to wear
something that would feel breezy but still fashionable and stand out.
Fall is such a chilly season. I love how the leaves turn into different
colors. I enjoy watching they fall and always want to catch the leaves
with a picture as they are falling down.  Fall is one of my favorite
seasons, so that was how I came up with this look.

What I’m wearing:
1. Skirt: Ann Taylor size 4.
2. Peachy Pink Top size medium
3. Fioni Black platform pump
4. Brown Vintage hands free bag
5. White flower over red stone ring
6. Pink pearl necklace and pink pearl bracelet
7. Curly crystal earrings
8. White flower with white feather pin

Doesn’t everyone look fabulous?!  I am working with my “judging panel” of Jen, Jean, Khatu and Kelly and will let everyone know who the winners are hopefully by Friday, if not, it will be early next week.  I promise! 🙂

Style Challenge: Blogger Inspiration and Lookbook!

Last Friday I announced our first ever Style Challenge and I have recruited a few of my favorite ladies to style our jewelry and to give you guys some inspiration for your outfits!

We would love to see how you style your favorite statement jewelry piece and to make the Style Challenge even more fun, everyone that participates in the challenge is entered to win 1 of 2 awesome prizes!  Kelly, Jean and Khatu will help us in choosing one of the winners!

Prize 1 will contain the Layered Statement Necklace, Glam Leatherette Ring and the Gold Double Braided Cuff.

The 2nd prize will be the Glam Leatherette Ring, Gold Large Braided Cuff and the Satin and Pearl Rhinestone necklace.

Click here for the details on the Style Challenge.  We will accept submissions from now until December 9th so you have some time to put together an outfit!  You can use any jewelry you already own!  And after you post your outfit on your blog remember to link it up here. (or if you are not a blogger email me your pics!)  And yes, we’ll accept video submissions too, submit your youtube link here! 🙂

In my style challenge outfit I’m wearing the Satin and Pearl Rhinestone necklace.  While I love
necklaces, this one was a challenge for me because it’s a lot busier
than what I usually wear and I tend to pair it with a sweater and jeans kind of outfit.  I wanted to challenge myself by dressing it up and pairing it with patterns.  I tried it out for an outfit that I wore out to a nice dinner and ended up loving the mix of the patterns with the texture of the chain, pearls and rhinestones.

*Lace Cardigan: Target – Great options here in lots of colors, here and here at Forever 21 all under $20.
*Top: Shop Sosie – It’s actually this dress that I tucked into my skirt to make a top.  I’m wearing a Small and is overall a bit big, especially the sleeves but works well with a belt or tucked in like I’m wearing.
*Skirt: T by Alexander Wang – Buy here on sale (sizing is true to size, mine is a XS) or also similar and on sale, and here for 60% off.
*Bag: Marc Jacobs
*Shoes: YSL Tribute Mary Jane- See them in better detail in this lookbook.  Mine are from last year but you can still get the YSL Tribute Sandals, these gorgeous purple ones are on sale!  And, a great Look for Less option.
*Jewelry: t+j Designs Satin and Pearl Rhinestone necklace, Glam Leatherette Ring, Bamboo Crystal Bracelet, Rhinestone Bow Bracelet, and Medium Gold Bangle with Etchings.  Take 25% off your order with code THANKS.  Code expires 11/30.

Also, if you love Mary Jane pumps (like I do!) I just pre-saled these super cute Miu Miu ones at Nordstrom and they will be going on sale December 1st for 40% off!  Don’t quote me on the date, but I know it’s somewhere around there, but if you like them call up your Nordstrom Sales Associate and let them know that you want to pre-sale them.  The blue ones are the YSL Tributes in the shorter heel.  My SA said those were sold out everywhere but maybe check other department stores or YSL.com! And if you haven’t checked yet, Net-a-porter has put a bunch of designer shoes on sale!

I hope you join the challenge!  I’m super excited to see everyone’s looks!  Submit your links here.

I’m currently reading The Art of Racing in the Rain, which I didn’t even read the description or Goodreads it which I usually do before I read a book, because it came so highly recommended from so many people.  I didn’t know what to expect except that it was written from the perspective of a dog which I thought I’d really enjoy.  Well turns out, I love the book but I can barely get through a few chapters without crying!  I have to put the book down and walk away even though I love reading it but I’m continuously crying!  I really try hard not to but next thing I know I’m bawling.  Hubs can hear me sniffling away and he doesn’t even have to look, he knows I’m reading the book.  haha!  On another note, I found out that I could borrow e-books from the library to read on my iPad which has saved me tons of money!  I never was one to borrow actual books from the library and I switched to e-books when I got my Nook 2 years ago (which I still love) so I never looked into borrowing from the library until a few months ago when I stumbled upon the fact that my library had tons of e-books to lend out.  They don’t have as much as a selection as Barnes and Noble and you do have to get on a waiting list for more popular books, I think I had to be waitlisted for a month for The Art of Racing, but it doesn’t bother me to wait.  I love it and the best part is, it’s free, even the app!  My library uses the Overdrive app to read books on iPad and Nook.  I’m not sure how other libraries do it, but if you have an iPad/e-reader, it’s worth checking out how your library lends out e-books!

t+j Designs new arrivals!

I’m so excited about our new collection and have to share our latest designs that launched on our site today! We concentrated on bracelets and rings this time and I’m so happy to finally be able to show them to you guys!  Our newest bracelets are so great for stacking.  Check out the new arrivals here!  In the above picture I’m wearing Dashes of Purple Crystal Ring, Luxe Mesh Bangle, Medium Gold Bangle with Etchings and Rhinestone Bow Bangle.

We also launched a limited edition clutch which we produced in a small quantity (but if you guys love our clutches as much as you love our jewelry, we may produce more!).  I love love this clutch and am very proud of the quality we were able to produce and still keep a great price point.  If you are looking for a nice quality, classy clutch, this is it!  And, we even included a detachable shoulder strap so you can wear it on your shoulder or even cross body.  On my wrist: Medium Gold Bangle with Etchings, Gold Chain Bracelet, Hammered Bangle, DIY friendship bracelet and Glam Bracelet.

Here it is with the shoulder strap!

As with some of our necklaces, we mixed metals on a few bracelets and I think it turned out beautiful.  Now you don’t have to be committed to wearing either gold or silver, you can wear both! Wearing: Hammered Bangle, Silver Clasp Bangle, Twisted Silver and Gold Bangle and Jewel Tone Crystal Ring.

And a few of our rings that I am sure many of you will love!  You know I love my giant rings so I had to design something BIG and sparkly!

Also, I’ve had quite a few requests for bracelets for small wrists so I specifically made this for us ladies with small wrists!  Now, I don’t have as much as a problem, as I still like to wear bigger bangles even if they do fall off, but I love this one as it fits perfectly and doesn’t slip off at all.  In fact, it’s so small that you don’t slip it on, it actually opens up and stays secure with a small clasp.  Our Hammered Bangle is also a great choice for small wrists since it’s adjustable.

Thank you again for all your support of our jewelry line.  My sister and I are so appreciative of all the great support and feedback we’ve been getting.  It’s been such a dream of mine to design my own jewelry line and I can hardly believe that it’s come true!

Don’t forget! If you order $50 or more take $10 off with the code NEW10 or if your order is $100 or more take $25 off with code NEW25.  Happy Shopping!

Lookbook: A Little Bit of Sunshine

F21_plaid_shirt2F21_plaid_shirtF21_plaid_shirt3F21_plaid_shirt4
What I’m Wearing
*Top: Forever 21 (similar in pink and with ruffles.  Love the fall colors of this top.)
*Shorts: J Crew Chino Shorts (Buy here but out of my yellow color.  The longer 9″ shorts still have my color and on sale for $19.99)
*Shoes: Dior – Miss Dior Pumps (Buy here in black.  Did you see the gorgeous blue velvet versions?)
*Clutch: vintage Gucci – I am so into gray bags/clutches this season.  Did you see the RM MAC clutch in gray?  Love it!  Also really liking this gray Melie Bianco clutch and it’s on sale!
*Sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Buy here – mine are the gold frames or similar – I like the black frame with the gray lens)
*Jewelry: t+j Designs Delicate Luxe Rhinestone Necklace, Rhinestone Ribbon Bracelet and earrings will be part of our new collection to be launched soon.
This week went by SO fast, I can hardly believe it’s Friday!  Earlier this week I had a chance to meet up with the gorgeous Rachel of Vuesociety.com (which is her blog turned into online clothing boutique – check it out, she’s got some amazing stuff!) and it is so nice to meet up with other entreprenurial ladies that are going through the exact same things that I am in starting our own business.  Everyone just sees the front end of things but the back end of things is truly the hardest part!  It was nice sharing our stories and laughing about all the things we had to go through just to get through our store launches and how there are still so many things that we want to change.  One of the things that I miss about the corporate world is just being around like-minded people and being able to share and bounce ideas off each other and get feedback about your work.  I realize that now that I don’t work in a traditional office, I need that more than ever!
We met at Cake Envy a new cupcake shop in Greenlake.  I’m a serious cupcake lover and have been to almost every cupcake place in the greater Seattle area and I can honestly say that Cake Envy was one of the best cupcakes I’ve ever had!  I’m not one that loves frosting and I usually shave off at least half of the frosting that most cupcake bakeries put on but they had the lightest most yummiest – like whipped cream – frosting ever.  I brought one home to my husband and he agreed.  Definitely try it out if you are in the area!

Only a few summer lookbooks left and I promise to have fall outfits to post soon! 🙂  Last week, I had drinks with a co-worker that I hadn’t seen since I left that company and it was so nice to catch up with him.  Did you ever see the episode of The King of Queens where Carrie has a “Work Husband” and Doug was so jealous that he made Deacon be his “Work Wife?”  haha!  Well, this co-worker was like my “work husband” and at one point we shared an office and shared many funny stories.  My favorite being when his partner sent him funny/cute balloons for his birthday and the biggest one happened to have a baby Mickey and Minnie Mouse on it (pretty much like this) and people would walk by our office and see the balloons and assume the balloons were for me and exclaim “Oh wow! I had no idea.  Congratulations Tiffany!” and at first I was confused and then I realized what they thought and all throughout the day I was saying “Oh no! I’m not having a baby, it’s his birthday today and those are birthday balloons!”  LOL!
