I posted this photo on instagram and everyone went crazy for it! It reached over 150,000 impressions which if you know instagram lately and the algorithm, that’s amazing these days as my impressions now are pretty much dismal on all my other photos. I also got a ton of DM’s and questions on these pieces so thought I’d post them on my blog and let you know how they fit, the quality, etc. Overall I LOVE these dresses and think that they make for the perfect dresses to wear to a summer wedding or any spring/summer time events and parties. The best part, none of these dresses cost more than $60!

Here they are on me! The pink pom pom dress is a fave mostly because it’s the most comfiest out of the 3. This dress fits true to size and is fully lined. See more photos and my full post HERE.
I adore this dress so much, it’s just so pretty. This one runs small so size up! The lace is very delicate and only the front is lined so you will need to go braless or wear a strapless, backless bra with it. See more photos and the full post HERE.
How cute is this top? It’s just the perfect little top to put on when you need something a little fancier but you don’t want to put on a dress. This one is also only lined in front and the lining in front is a big short so it kind of rides up so watch out for that. This one runs true to size.
I haven’t yet worn the blue one but it’s just as pretty in person. The lace is a bit tougher/thicker than the pink ones. This one runs extremely small so I sized up but even then it’s pretty tight in the rib cage so I probably could have sized up again but I decided just to keep it. It’s also a bit shorter than the others so if you are tall it might not work for you.
I just bought a few more dresses that I’m super excited about and they are all under $30!

Cold shoulder, ruffles, pom poms and cat eye sunnies. This look pretty much sums up all of my favorite things for spring and summer!
SUNGLASSESTOPJEANS SHOESCLUTCH I love Seattle summers. The spring is a bit tougher as we get these streaks of super rainy days and then occasionally it’s just crazy sunny! And it’s not even day by day that the weather changes, it can be by the hour! Like this day I took photos, it was so bright and sunny and by the time I got home a few hours later, it was pouring down rain! Such crazy weather. So I struggle with dressing for this weather but I am loving cold shoulder tops and jeans for days like this. I just bring a jacket and cover up when it gets cooler but when it’s so bright and sunny, the cold shoulder top is just what I need.
Something that I can always rely on though, are my sunglasses. I need sunglasses on me at all times because like I said, when I’m out, it will be dark and overcast but all of the sudden the clouds will part and suddenly my eyes are hurting! I am loving these Maui Jim sunglasses, not only are they cute but they have polarized lenses which basically helps adjust your eyes to the changing lights/brightness. The lenses are able to enhance the colors that you are seeing rather then just dimming them! I own a crazy amount of sunglasses and I can honestly say that these are some of the best sunglasses that I’ve owned. You don’t realize how much you need good quality sunglasses until you own a pair like this and realize just what you were missing out on!
I love the Seattle waterfront and being able to see all the gorgeous colors with my sunglasses is so cool! I don’t feel like I’m missing out on anything when I wear the sunglasses. I They also eliminate glare which if you’ve ever been driving behind a car on a sunny day you understand how hard and dangerous that can be!
I’m wearing the Sunshine style in Pink with Pink Tokyo. I love that it’s a tortoise shell with a pink hue as it goes with everything! The sunglasses are also really light and comfortable. I have a lot of trouble finding glasses that fit the bridge of my very flat Asian nose but these fit so well. If you have the same problem as me, I know how frustrating it is to find a cute pair of sunglasses and not be able to fit your face! I actually also own Moonbow and Summer Time styles and they all fit my face great!
I’m definitely looking forward to a lot more sunny days and getting lots of use out of all these items!

As mentioned on my mom’s hair makeover post, I also got my hair cut at Gene Juarez and I’m loving my new hair! I always go through the same phase with my hair where I want my hair to be really long and then the second it gets long I just want to cut it off. I’ve learned my lesson to not to cut too short (my round face can’t handle too short of a cut!) so I usually just take a few inches off but enough to make a difference. My stylist really listened to what I wanted and added in some layers but also left enough length to show off my balayage which I still love.
Before we did the cut, I also had a scalp treatment which I’ve never had before but highly recommend! It was the Phytodess Scalp Treatment which combines essential oils and natural clay to decongest and soothe your scalp. It was basically a mask but for your scalp. The scalp treatment was only about 15 minutes and then I had the Kérastase Rejuvenation treatment which targets the hair surface and core to help solidify and rejuvenate hair. I loved having these treatments before my hair cut to really help get my hair and scalp healthy again. I could really tell the difference a day after my cut how much more bouncy and shiny my hair was.
How fun is this bell sleeve tie top? I’m loving top with fun sleeves these days. It’s the perfect spring transition top. The one thing about these giant sleeves is eating or washing hands is kind of annoying. But I guess small price to pay for a cute top 🙂
I just love my shorter ‘do. It’s still long enough for a ponytail and is easy for me to curl. I also really loved the whole experience at Gene Juarez. Everyone there is so sweet and I feel like everyone from the receptionist to your stylist, genuinely wants you to have the best experience there.

With summer right around the corner and vacations / weddings / reunions / BBQs coming up, it seems like everyone is on a quest to get healthy to look FAB at the next event! But why is it so hard to find healthy food that’s YUMMY too? I’ve found that with a little effort and lots of trial + error, it IS possible to enjoy your favorite foods but modified to make them easier on the waistline!
Cauliflower has been around forever but how many times have you gone through the produce department without even looking at the white flowery veggie? In the past few years, cauliflower has gained popularity by those that are looking for a low carb, high fiber diet (think Paleo, Keto, Atkins, etc.). The great thing about this unassuming veggie is that it is so versatile! It takes on the flavor of anything you cook it with and can be transformed to take on the look of some of my favorite bar foods (think Happy Hour). If you haven’t jumped on the cauliflower bandwagon yet, now’s your chance! I’ve rounded up my Top 5 Favorite Cauliflower Recipes for a Low Carb Diet!
Tater tots are one of those things that takes me back to my childhood. I didn’t buy school lunch very often but when I did, I LOVED these little bite sized snacks! I would always check the menu to see when they were serving them so I could ask to buy lunch that day! But as an adult, these starchy snacks are high in carbs + fat (especially if they’re fried) which means no bueno when working on your summer goals! These Cauliflower Tots are perfect! They are reminiscent of your childhood tater tot but high in fiber and WAY less fat! Try them at your next BBQ!
One of my FAVORITE Happy Hour foods…BUFFALO WINGS. I love spice and wings have just the right amount of kick to them! But being fried (I actually didn’t know that wings were fried!), they are not the healthiest choice on the HH menu. Enter Cauliflower Buffalo Wings. If you ever wondered how you’re supposed to host a football party (tailgating? Superbowl?) while trying to stick to your nutrition plan, try making these for your next get together. No, they’re not chicken, but if you’re looking for that same spice and a Happy Hour regular, try out these Cauliflower Buffalo Wings!
How many times have you been to a restaurant and ordered your food, only to fill up on the free bread that comes beforehand and been too full (not that it stops me) for your actual entree? If you’re entertaining and looking for an appetizer that won’t make your guests too full for the main dish, try these cauliflower breadsticks! They’re buttery, cheesy and garlicky and your guests (and kids) won’t believe they’re made out of veggies!
I’m not gonna lie – this is not the deep dish crust from Pizza Hut but if you thought you had to give up pizza altogether, think again! I made this for my husband who’s a total skeptic but even he liked it! Top with whatever toppings you want to make a margherita, meat lovers or even a breakfast pizza (eggs + turkey bacon anyone?)! The possibilities are endless!
Being Korean, I grew up on rice. I’m sure for my mom, making fried rice was a way to get rid of leftover ingredients but for me, I loved it and it was definitely a treat from the normal plain rice we got. When I started a healthy eating plan, I cut out white rice and replaced it with brown rice or quinoa. But when I came across this cauliflower fried rice recipe, I did a little happy dance because that meant I could save my carbs for something else (like, ahem…red wine!). This recipe is SUPER easy to make and most grocery stores even sell riced cauliflower! Make it even easier by getting a rotisserie chicken to debone and use mixed frozen veggies and this is a quick dish to make when you’re in a pinch!
So there you have it! My Top 5 Favorite Cauliflower Recipes for a Low Carb Diet! Which one is your fave? I’d love to hear in the comments below!
We are an Amazon Echo family and we now have several units all over our house. We all LOVE the Echo and even my 3 year old daughter can be heard saying “Alexa, play kidz bop” quite often. 🙂 If you don’t know what the Amazon Echo is, it basically is a speaker that you can talk to and tell it to play any music, do certain tasks and answer questions! All you have to do is say “Alexa” and the unit turns on and does whatever you ask it to!
We actually got our hands on one of the very first Amazon Echo’s. I’m not sure how I got selected, but they emailed me asking if I would be interested in being one of the first to buy it. I had no idea what it was but I was intrigued, so I said yes! We’ve had it for over 2 years now and along the way added a Tap and a few Dots (other devices that are similar to the Echo but not as big.) I’ll get into those a little later.
We keep our Echo in the living room and we mainly just play music from it which if that was the only thing it did, would be good enough! We subscribe to Amazon Music Unlimited which basically gives you access to any song in the Amazon library which is basically every song ever made. I mean I don’t know that for sure but every song I’ve asked it to play, it plays it! It’s never not been able to find a song that I wanted to hear.
I also love that they have pre-made playlists and stations that you can listen to. All ad-free! So when I’m working or in the car (I use the Amazon Music app) I can play whatever music I want and never have to hear a commercial! And it’s so great when I’m working and a song pops up in my head, I never have to look at my computer or phone to switch the music, I just say “Alexa” and tell it to play whatever song or playlist I want to hear. It’s amazing!
If you are a prime member it’s only $7.99 a month. We actually subscribe to the family plan which allows up to 6 members to have their own accounts – which means that my husband can listen to his own music and saved playlists at work while I can listen to my music and it never interferes with each other! Since I didn’t need all 6 accounts I gifted my brother and his wife an Echo for Christmas and gave them their own music accounts as well! The family account is $14.99 a month which I think is well worth the price. Right now you get a 30-Day Free Trial for Amazon Music Unlimited. I highly recommend just giving it a try and seeing for yourself how useful it is. If you download the app and your car can pick up your phone by bluetooth, it’s SO worth it because I can’t stand the regular radio so being able to listen to any music and access all my own playlists is so nice when I’m sitting in traffic.
So, beyond being able to access and listen to all this music, I’ve realized that I use the Echo for so many other things that I’ve found so useful. I just think every mom would benefit from using the Amazon Echo!
Use it as a bluetooth speaker
I listen to a lot of podcasts and I love that I can easily connect my phone to the Echo as a speaker and have it play all my podcasts as I’m cleaning or doing my makeup. We keep a Tap in our master bathroom so I even play podcasts when I’m in the shower! Some days when I am so busy and get no time to myself, the shower and a podcast is the best 20 minutes of the day. The Tap is a mini version of the echo and it’s portable! So I can bring it from the bathroom to the bedroom to my closet so no matter where I am in my morning routine, I can bring the speaker with me.
Set a timer
So good for when I’m cooking! I use it almost every time I cook and it’s so helpful when your hands are full or dirty and you don’t have an extra hand to set the timer on the oven. I just tell Alexa to set a timer for however many minutes I need and it’s done!
I also use it to time my daughter when she cleans up. Not to make me sound like a mean mom (I promise I’m not!) it drives me crazy when I ask my daughter to clean up her area and it should only take 5 minutes but she ends up stopping and playing with every single toy that she picks up so really it takes 30 minutes or more. Lately, before bed I’ve been telling her that she gets 5 minutes to clean up and I set the timer. She never gets in trouble if she takes longer then 5 minutes but setting the timer helps keep her focused and when she makes it before the timer goes off, we give her lots and lots of praise which makes her so happy.
Check your Calendar
You can connect it to your google calendar! In the mornings I always ask her what’s on my calendar today and get a recap of all my meetings and to do’s. It helps me so much so I remember what time all my meetings are and any other important details. Of course I have to remember to put everything on my google calendar but it’s something that I use all the time, so I rarely forget.
Check the weather/traffic
I know you can also do both on your phone but in the mornings when I’m getting ready, getting my daughter dressed, preparing breakfast, feeding the dogs, etc… I really don’t have a lot of time to look at my phone. So I often just ask Alexa what the weather will be like and then I can dress my daughter and I appropriately for the day. For traffic, it’s not quite as advanced to tell you traffic for all locations but it remembers a specific location, for me, it’s my office/warehouse and it tells me information about the commute, if there is any traffic/accidents and how long it will take me to get there.
Put your child to bed with music or white noise
My daughter has always been a good sleeper. She was sleeping through the night, very early on. We didn’t have much sleep issues up until she was about 2. That’s when she decided she wasn’t so into sleeping. 🙂 Once she’s asleep, she rarely gets up, but she’s very much a night owl and has so much energy at night! It can be so hard to put her to bed sometimes. When we put her to bed at her regular bed time, she would either stay up and play in her room until late or if we made her lay down and stay in bed she always wanted someone to stay in there with her. Even then she wouldn’t go to sleep quickly. It was just so difficult and often times I’d be in her room until 11pm before she finally fell asleep. We’ve always used a white noise machine in her room and I do think that helped her sleep well as a baby.
Once she got older it just didn’t have the same affect but I got her a Dot to play music (there’s tons of lullaby playlists that you can have it play) and it really helped her settle down and fall asleep. Truly, it was amazing the affect it had on her! I think it also helps with part of the sleep routine that we turn on the lullabies as we read her a book so she knows that it’s time to go to sleep. There are also white noise options that you can use which I’ve turned on for her before and I think just changing it up and having a different sound to listen to, helped her sleep as well. And you don’t even need to go back into their room to turn off their music! Just tell Alexa to “sleep in 30 minutes” or however long you want it to play and she will turn off my herself.
We have a Dot in my daughter’s bedroom and use this adorable bluetooth speaker with it. She loves it and it goes well with her decor. It’s not just cute, it’s a great speaker as well! My daughter and I got a custom fashion sketch done at an event we went to, which is what’s behind the speaker. It’s one of my favorite things ever!
This is the Dot that I keep in my home office. I also have a bluetooth speaker that I have connected to it. The speaker on the dot is not great, so I highly recommend you connect a bluetooth speaker to it, although it’s totally not necessary. The dot works just like the Echo, it’s just more compact and needs the bluetooth speaker connected if you want to have better sound but otherwise, it does all the commands that the Echo does. They are always coming out with new things that Alexa can do so it’s been fun to get to see how the device continues to improve. They also do Alexa only deals which I have to say are pretty great! You just order directly by asking “Alexa, What are your deals” During the holidays they had some pretty great deals that I ordered from!
I don’t get the chance to post as many outfits on the blog but I’m always posting on instagram so I thought I’d just do a quick little instagram outfits round up! I know a lot of you that follow me on instagram want to shop the items that I’m wearing. The easiest way to do is to go to my instagram shop page and just click on the photo and all the shoppable links will be there! But in case you missed some of my looks, you can get all the deets here.
I love kimono cardigans for the spring and summer and this one is so cute and looks great with jeans and a tee which is basically my lazy day spring uniform.
I love this dress as I often want to buy maxi dresses but I hate having to always hem them to fit me. This dress works great for shorties like me. I also love that I can dress it up with heels but looks so cute with comfy sneakers!
Two things I’m loving lately, brightly colored bags and bell sleeves. Kind of obsessed with this top that combines the cold shoulder and bell sleeve trend.
This is one of my favorite tops of the season! I wore it when I spoke at the Seattle Style Summit and got so many compliments. I wear it a ton and I’m still not sick of it! It just one of those tops that I always reach for when I can’t figure out what else to wear.
Would love for you to follow me on instagram but I also post quite frequently on Facebook if you happen to be more on facebook more. Would love for you to follow me on facebook HERE!
I’ve always been a fan of shapewear. I mean how could you not when you can wear something that will make you look slimmer and hides your lumps and rolls?
I didn’t realize just how many types of shapewear there was until after I had my daughter and I was a bit more self conscious about my new post pregnancy body.
For petite ladies like me, I find that we have to find pieces that fit our shorter torsos and also where it fits us in the hips and waist can be quite different.
My advice is to try on or order a few types as well as sizes just to see what fits your body best as it’s not just a simple size fit (you may be a size small in clothes, but the XS fits best for shapewear).

Best for everyday wear: Shapewear tank
The shapewear tank top is a favorite because I get the most use out of it.
Anytime I’m wearing a slim fitting shirt, I always wear a shaping tank underneath.
These tanks aren’t super constricting so it’s comfortable to wear all day.
Wearing one of these keeps everything smooth so you great to wear with a more fitted sweater or top and jeans.
I like style like these as you can wear it two ways as a v-neck or scoopneck, so it can be worn with all your tops.
As you can see below, it’s perfect to layer under a knit sweater like this that tends to hug the body a bit tighter and there’s no pattern or print to distract away from it.
The waist cincher is AMAZING for dresses. I love wearing this under any of my fancier dresses where I want to keep my tummy in check and know that it will be comfortable to wear for the night.
This is definitely a bit more constricting and you don’t want to eat a huge dinner when you are wearing it but for events where I mainly just have nibbles and drinks, it’s perfect for that occasion.
It’s great for a dress like I’m wearing below because the dress won’t show the texture of the waist cincher underneath (unlike a more smoother/bodycon kind of dress) so it stays hidden.
These are different than the post partum belly wraps as those specifically target the postpartum belly.
The ones below, I recommend for both postpartum and non postpartum bodies. They are great for when you are wearing dresses and just want to slim the belly down a bit.
The shaping brief is something that I’m just trying out but I’m finding that it is so great to wear underneath slim trouser or jeans!
Of course you’ll want to wear a longer top so that you won’t be able to see the briefs.
I either wear this with tops that I can tuck into my pants and it helps keep the whole stomach area smooth with no lumps or bumps!
It’s also great for tops like I’m wearing below where it’s a thinner lightweight quality and picks up on your body shape when you move.
You know how sometimes you look fine standing still but then as you move, the top kind of clings to your midsection? Yeah, I think we all don’t love that.
So this is a great garment to wear underneath and it keeps everything looking smooth even when you are moving around.
I hope you found this helpful! I think shapewear is great for any body type and for petite women, it’s just about finding the right fit to make it work for us.
If you liked this post, don’t miss my other posts for petite style!
