One thing I’ve learned in the past few holiday seasons, buy your matching family holiday pajamas early as they always sell out so fast!
I rounded up the most popular brands and cutest styles so you can have a one stop guide to shop your favorite set for your family. Check it out below!
The Best Matching Family Holiday Pajamas in 2020
The best variety for family holiday pajamas
Hanna Andersson really was the first brand to carry matching holiday pj’s so I knew I had to share this! I love the cute deer print, but you really can’t go wrong with any print they offer! I also love this new Sno Happy in Black print, this Vintage Village print.
Burt’s Bees is known for their organic and soft materials, and I just love the look of these classic red and white stripes. They are super affordable and they have other cute styles like this Christmas Tree print!
Mickey Mouse Family Pajamas
I couldn’t resist these Mickey Mouse matching pajamas – so cute! Pajamagram has so many fun styles and they are even available on Amazon!
If you’re looking for cozy onesies for the family, look no further! These are so cute, look insanely soft and I love the mix and match of the solid red with the plaid.
I had to share these holiday elf style from the Wondershop at Target as well! I love how festive and fun they are, I know that kiddos would love this style.
Affordable Family Holiday Jammies
I love Carter’s for my girls pajamas and they have lots of cute trendy pieces. Everything is so affordable and so darn cute! Love that they have cute holiday jammies for the kids but mom and dad have some options to match them as well!

Traveling with young kids is never easy, but it’s always an adventure and worth the memories made! My kids are 1 and 6 and I try to pick destinations that are easy to get to, lots of activities for kids and good weather is always a bonus, which is why we recently went to Long Beach, CA for our winter vacation. They are so many fun things to do with kids in Long Beach, CA and wanted to share what we did while we were there.
From Seattle, a flight to Long Beach is only 2 and a half hours and when you are traveling with a baby or toddler, the short flight is a definite win! We flew directly into Long Beach airport which is a beautiful, open air airport. Layla was so excited to get off the airplane and directly be outside! It’s the little things like this that make me love traveling with my kids as it’s so fun to see what they get excited about.
This post is in partnership with Visit Long Beach. All opinions are my own.
From the moment we got in the car and started driving, I knew we were going to love our vacation there! We left a gray, rainy Seattle to a perfectly warm (to us) no jacket needed climate, which we all were so happy about. The warm weather allowed us to plan full days of activities outdoors.
Where to stay in Long Beach with kids
We stayed at Hotel Maya which is a gorgeous hotel overseeing the water. We rented a car and I loved how close everything was. We could get to everything, from the water to downtown, to all the restaurants and activities within a 15 minute drive. The hotel room was very spacious for the 4 of us and the food was amazing! They have a restaurant inside the hotel that looked great, but when traveling with kids, eating out at restaurants for every meal can be a bit tough. We ended up ordering room service and having a cozy little meal in our room but my husband and I agreed that it was the best room service meal we had ever gotten!
The hotel has a private beach right on their property! I can’t wait to come back and enjoy the beach when it’s warmer.
Fun things to do with kids in Long Beach, CA
Pow Wow Murals
Downtown Long Beach has a lot of fun things to do, but one of our favorites was to spot all the beautiful murals! These murals are part of Pow Wow Long Beach and you can go on their website to see all the murals and locations. All the murals are so unique and beautiful and of course, a great photo opp!
Aquarium of the Pacific
My oldest, just loves animals so I knew a trip to the aquarium was required. I had heard a lot of great things about the Aquarium of the Pacific, and I completely agree, it was one of the best aquariums we have ever been to! Not only did we get to see all sorts of beautiful fish, we also saw penguins, sea otters and even got to interact with these beautiful birds!
You can buy a little cup of nectar to feed them and it was the funniest thing to walk in and immediately get swarmed by birds. When I first walked in I had at least 10 on me! This little one stuck by and got to eat up until another one landed on my husband’s arm while he was taking my photo and then they both had to share! It was hilarious and so fun!
Lion Lighthouse
The Lion Lighthouse is a short walk from the aquarium and so worth it! The walk there is beautiful and spacious. And once you get to the lighthouse you have the most beautiful view of Long Beach! Layla loved running up and down the hills and along the boardwalk.
Christmas in Long Beach
I loved that we got to visit during the holidays as we got to do so many fun Christmas activities. Our favorite had to be the Queen Mary Christmas. The Queen Mary is worth a trip itself and I wish I had gotten a photo of the boat but trust me when I tell you that it’s something that can’t be captured on camera, you just have to see it for yourself! For Christmas they had a ton of fun activities including ice skating, a merry go round, making your own stockings and so many other activities that the kids loved. We did all of that and then even got to visit and take photos with Santa! We spent so much time there doing everything and really enjoyed it. This wrapping paper room was so fun to take photos in!
Shopping at Shoreline Village
You can’t do Christmas without some shopping right? We headed to Shoreline Village to pick up some presents for family and friends and we weren’t disappointed! All the shops there are so unique and fun to browse. We picked up some great souvenirs for ourselves too! There’s even a great arcade with lots of games and a merry go round to entertain the kids. It’s right by the water so it’s just fun to walk around and I love how brightly colored all the buildings are. We had lunch at Tequila Jack’s and I highly recommend it! The salad I got was fresh and so full of flavor and they had a great kid’s menu which I always appreciate for my picky little eater.
Pike Outlets – don’t miss Snowopolis!
We also took the kids to Pike Outlets one afternoon as it ended up raining for a little bit. It’s kind of funny as it rarely rains in Long Beach, but apparently we brought the Seattle rain with us! We never mind a little rain and it was the perfect spot to hang out for an hour.
We stumbled upon the most amazing milk shake and shave ice shop! Snowopolis did not disappoint with their unicorn milkshake. We don’t let Layla indulge in treats like this at home so having something like this on vacation, made her day! I loved just seeing her face when it came out!
One of my favorite things was seeing all the Christmas decorations but also palm trees everywhere! It’s just not something you see in Seattle, so I loved the change of scenery for us.
Family friendly restaurants in Long Beach
I have no photos of restaurants or food because if you are a parent of a toddler, you will know that meal times are impossible enough to just get them to sit down and eat much less take photos of food! LOL! But I did have to mention that we enjoyed all of our meals in Long Beach. I loved the diversity of cuisine we got to try, from Thai to Mexican to Greek. Every place we went to was very family friendly. Our very favorite of the trip was Michael’s Downtown Italian Kitchen. First of all, I loved the area, it was full of great looking restaurants and shops, this was the street right by the restaurant. Look how cute it is!
The food we had at Michael’s was so so good! From the charcuterie plate to the wood fired pizza, the food was high quality and the staff was so good to our girls. They had games for them to play and our waiter even treated Layla to ice cream! It was such a great dinner and something we still talk about!
I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sure what to expect of Long Beach being that I wasn’t very familiar with it. But it’s such a great spot to take your family, even the littlest ones will love it! One thing that I noticed was that even though we went to a lot of touristy areas, it never felt overcrowded. There was definitely a lot of people around but it was still spacious enough that my girls could run around and enjoy the area without having to worry about them getting in people’s way. If you are not a fan of long lines and crowds, especially during the holiday season, I highly recommend a trip here.
Long Beach is only a 3o minute drive to Disneyland which is where we headed to after and I was so glad that we started our trip in Long Beach as it was so much more relaxing then the craziness of Disneyland. If you are headed that way, make a stop at Long Beach for a few days as there’s so much to do but at the same time, it’s still relaxing and you can really enjoy your vacation! I can’t wait to head back during the summer and hit up some of the beaches my girls!

Babies need a lot of gear and not only that you need specific items for the different ages/stages they are in. Now that Edie is almost one I am able to share the items that we’ve used a ton and have really helped Edie with things like teething, eating solids, crawling, standing/walking and even singing songs and dancing!
For the month of October, Walmart will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of Parent’s Choice, their exclusive baby brand. The products from the Parent’s Choice brand are really great quality and available at a great price point. If you haven’t checked out this exclusive brand yet, you must! Some items from the brand have become essentials for Edie as well, so I wanted to share our top 5 picks from Parent’s Choice below:
This fresh food feeder is genius!! It has really helped with introducing foods to Edie. You can even put frozen fruit in this to help with teething too.

Headed to Las Vegas and bringing your baby and young kids? Read on for the best tips on traveling to Las Vegas with your little ones. I’m also sharing where to stay and what to do to make your trip enjoyable and relaxing!
The best Las Vegas Hotel for Kids and Babies
I’ve been to Las Vegas numerous times due to how close the flight is from Seattle. I’ve done multiple girls trips, my bachelorette party and lots of work trips as well. And as much as I love Vegas, I didn’t consider taking my kids, especially since they are so young.
My oldest just turned 6 and needs to be entertained at all times and my youngest is 10 months and is a typical baby with lots of needs! I was afraid that Las Vegas would not be a great place for kids or babies but, being that I am always up for an adventure, I booked a last minute vacation and decided to just go for it!
Four Seasons Las Vegas Hotel Review
My sister recently stayed at the Four Seasons Las Vegas and highly recommended it. Because of her, I looked into it and saw that it was one of the few no casino hotels on the Las Vegas strip and it was a non-smoking hotel. With those two factors, I knew I had to book it for my family.
The hotel is actually connected to Mandalay Bay which meant my husband and I had easy access to the casinos and other entertainment, as well as all of us being able to use the Mandalay Bay pools.
One Bedroom Suite with lots of amenities for kids
I needed to book a larger suite as we were also bringing our nanny. The 1 bedroom suite provided us with two beds, a crib, 2 bathrooms and a separate living space with a sofa bed. We could close the door to the rooms, so that our nanny could have her privacy as well. It was perfect for us but I will say that even if we did not have our nanny with us, I would still book this room. If you know kids, they take up a lot of space and being able to have the space to spread our things around was much appreciated!
Personalized touches for kids
From the moment we walked in, I could already tell that they were well versed in making kids feel welcome to the hotel. We had bath and body products specifically for the kids, the crib was already set up and there were even teddy bears on our beds! My daughter was truly delighted by all of these!
Necessities for the baby
For my baby, they even had a small basket full of extra diapers and wipes and other things that she may need. I had a requested a kettle in our room to warm the baby’s bottles and it was already in our room waiting for us as well!
Even though it’s a short flight, traveling is still tough with little ones, so to arrive to all of these things in our room was just so nice for all of us.
The bathroom had a large bath, we were able to bathe both girls in it at once. There was also a large shower and vanity/sink area. I never felt cramped in the bathroom even when we had 4 of us in it! The other bathroom was a powder room but still a good size!
We spent a lot of time in our room in between pool time and activities and of course at night but not once did I feel crowded or uncomfortable having 3 adults and 2 kids in one room.
(Note on the blankets: Edie usually sleeps in a sleep sack but my husband couldn’t find it that day so covered her in a swaddle blanket. It was nap time so all the adults were in the room and able to watch her while she slept.)
In room dining at the Four Seasons Las Vegas
One of my favorite parts about staying in a hotel is room service. Breakfast in bed? Yes please! The food was delicious and it always came within about 1/2 hour of ordering which I was impressed by! I loved that they had a lot of great options beyond just the regular breakfast dishes and even a kids menu. Layla was excited to get chocolate chip pancakes!
We didn’t end up eating at the restaurants in the hotel but they have two in the hotel that were easy to get to. I peeked at the menus and they looked delicious, but because we stayed at the hotel most of the day, we decided to venture out for dinner.
The Best Las Vegas Pool for Kids
I knew we would be spending a lot of time at the pool but to be honest, I was a bit worried. Every other time I’ve been to Las Vegas, the pools were always so crowded with lots of people, both in and out of the pool with loud music. That’s fine if you are there without kids but with kids, it’s a different story. Well, I was excited to find that the Four Seasons pool was absolutely perfect for us and I didn’t need to worry at all.
The pool was a nice size and just the right depth so that we could walk around the pool comfortably. I’m only 5’2″ and even though I can swim, I don’t like being in pools where I can’t reach the bottom! We took turns holding the baby or we stayed by the steps and we were at the pool for hours!
Towels were easy to get to and the service was amazing. They stopped by often enough to check if we needed drinks or anything else. We ordered lunch there two days in a row and the food was so good! I loved how versatile the menu was. I got the ceviche that I was still raving about days later!
They also had fresh water and handed out ice cold fruit skewers for free! It was such a nice touch. Both my daughters loved the frozen pineapples that they kept on asking for more. The server was so nice and just brought us a bowl of them!
There were plenty of lounge chairs both in and out of the shade. What was even better were the larger circular loungers that had a large canopy that provided plenty of shade.
Edie took a nap there every day while big sis got to stay in the pool and play! It was the perfect set up for us.
They also have cabanas that you can rent. They looked so nice (I snuck this picture by one) but we didn’t end up renting one this trip. I think if we go back during a busier time I would definitely get a cabana!
Even though we could have used the pools at Mandalay Bay, I didn’t feel the need to as we just really enjoyed our time at the Four Seasons pool.
Mommy and Me Manicures at Four Seasons Las Vegas
While the baby napped, Layla and I headed down to the spa to get manicures! They have the Buttercup Manicure listed on their spa services just for kids which I thought was adorable!
Layla had so much fun picking out her colors. She brought her unicorn down with us to match the colors and found the perfect three colors to use. Both our manicurists were so nice and I loved listening to Layla chat with hers.
It was such a fun way to spend time together! The spa experience was just like everything else at our stay. Everyone was so kind and treated us so well. We’ve traveled a lot as a family this summer and this was the first trip that I actually could relax!
Top 5 tips to enjoying Las Vegas with babies and kids
Don’t rent a car: Every hotel in the area is so large with enough food and entertainment within the hotel (and walking distance) so a car is not necessary. We rode the free trams in between hotels and Layla loved that too!
Bring your stroller: Everywhere is stroller friendly and elevators are easy to find.
Plan shows/activities before your trip: Las Vegas shows and entertainment change often. Whether it’s just for the adults or for the entire family there is plenty to do but I found that by doing my research beforehand I could book the tickets that I wanted and was able to plan our trip better.
Book a babysitter so you can enjoy Las Vegas too: As a parent it’s tough to travel with kids and entertain them all day. You probably also don’t want to be sitting in the room when the kids are asleep and you know that there is so much to do like the casino, shows and shopping. Even if it’s for one night, I promise you it will be worth it!
Keep a loose schedule: Traveling with kids and babies is hard to keep a routine or schedule especially with naps and feedings. Don’t feel pressured to do everything while you are there. There is so much to do there that you literally will never get it done in one trip! Just pick the few must sees/dos and plan to do one a day.
I will be sharing another post about all the family friendly shows and activities that we did on our trip!
If you love traveling with my family like I do, don’t miss out on these posts!
The Nordstrom Sale is officially live for cardholders! Yesterday’s post was all about what I got and my favorite pieces for fall. This post is dedicated all to baby and kids items! From baby gear to clothing and shoes to older girls/boys, these are the best baby and kids items from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale that you don’t want to miss!
#1 BABY GEAR
The anniversary sale is such a great time to purchase baby gear such as strollers and carseats. You get a great discount on amazing products that are otherwise a bit of a splurge. Here are my favorites!
Thule City Stroller
We love this Thule City Stroller and we have the bassinet attached to it as you can see in the photo above. This stroller and bassinet is seriously the best for the newborn phase and I can’t recommend it enough! Get it while it’s on sale, it’s such a great price!
This is a great stroller for road trips. It’s super sturdy and comfortable for your baby. We also had the car seat adaptors to go with the Maxi Cosi infant car seat (also on sale!) and it attached to the stroller easily.
Nuna Car Seat and Stroller
Another stroller we love is this mixx stroller. Both the stroller and the car seat is now on sale! We have both and truly love them. They are so easy to use and great quality. This is probably the most popular stroller as quite a few of my friends also own it and everyone loves it. The Anniversary Sale version comes in a new color!
Above is how we used it when Edie was tiny, with the Nuna Carseat and below is how we use it now! We use this one for our nightly walks around the neighborhood.
Side note: Layla’s mini stroller is the perfect doll stroller and is so much like our real stroller! It’s great quality and can withstand all the bumps and cracks in the road.
Freshly Picked Diaper Bag
The new version of the Freshly Picked diaper bag is on sale and this is THE BEST diaper bag ever. This is the time to purchase this as the sale price comes to about $60 off.
I love shopping the sale for infant clothes and grabbing some good quality items that will work through the Fall and Winter. There are so many cute pieces on sale for both baby girls and boys. See my favorites below!
The little girls sale pieces are amazing and I found so many things I know my daughter will love that will be perfect for back to school and into the cooler months. I love grabbing items that can all mix and match together so she can create her own outfits easily!
The little boys selection is great as well! So many cute pieces at a killer price point. There are some great basics and essentials like jeans, tees and jackets perfect for layering.
