The BEST pieces from the Nordstrom Winter Sale

This weekend was so busy! If you had a long weekend, I hope you enjoyed it! Ours was a bit crazy but we got to see friends and do a ton of things despite the cold front that Seattle got! Anyway, I love Nordstrom Winter Sale time. So many good things on sale! Probably because living in Seattle, I get so much more wear out of my winter pieces so I don’t mind stocking up late in the season since I get to wear it for many more months!

TWIST HEM TEE

I’ve already worn this twist hem tee a ton. It’s pretty much my mom uniform when I’m taking my daughter to all her classes and playdates to just grab a cute top and jeans and this one is perfect to layer with. I add a cardigan or vest and even alone it’s cute and flattering. It comes in 4 colors and is true to size.

METALLIC SMOCKED BLOUSE

How cute are the stripes and ruffles! I love the gold stripes and the smock detail. It’s super flattering and makes your waist look smaller which is always a win in my book!

RUFFLE METALLIC TOP \\ SKINNY JEANS

Another ruffle top but I love that this one is metallic. The material is nice and stretchy and pretty comfy. Looks so cute with black denim and heels. These jeans are on sale and are my favorite denim brand! I love that they are stretchy and they are “ankle” length which means normal length on shorty legs like mine. Always a win because that means no alterations needed!

This lace up camisole is the cutest! This one isn’t on sale but it’s on sale in gray for 40% off!

TIE SLEEVE TOP

I thought this top was a cute updated basic. Love the silky material and the tie sleeves.

You know I’m a fan of ruffle sweaters so I couldn’t resist this one with the ruffles on the sleeve!

I love long sleeve tees and thought this ruffle shoulder was a cute detail.

HIGH WAIST SKINNY JEANS

I’m obsessed with Frame Denim lately. Jeans are so hard to shop for but I find that if I stick to a few of the same brands, I tend to have better luck when ordering online or trying them on in store. I don’t know why but I hate trying on jeans so the least amount of time that I have to try on jeans, the happier I am. Anyway, I’ve found Frame denim to fit my body type really well and love the quality of the jeans as well. They can be pricey which is why I’m always excited when I can find them on sale! I feel like I never own enough striped tops. Of course I had to grab this one just because I love these kinds of tops and wear them all the time.

How could I resist this hot pink ruffle top? So fun! And only $17!

Another striped top! I know I can’t stop. I adore this top though and will wear it a ton this spring. I didn’t realize until I got home that I grabbed this in a size Small and I’m normally an XS so it is slightly big on me in the photo below but it does run true to size.

I also love a lace blouse, they are always what I pick when I want to feel a bit dressy but not too dressy. I love the color of this one!

I went to Nordstrom Rack the other day and found some SUPER cute things. I don’t shop there as often as I like because I don’t have one close to me but I’ve always been a fan of the rack. I also had no idea that they had so much good stuff online until I came home to try to find the stuff I tried online and ended up doing some more shopping! Anyway, I tried on a bunch of things that I love and that came home with me so wanted to share before it sold out online.

Pleated Bell Sleeve Blouse

If you remember from my last Nordstrom Dressing Room reviews, I tried on this Vince Camuto blouse in a plaid print so imagine how excited I was to spot it in black at Nordstrom Rack for even cheaper! It’s just such an easy top to wear from day to night and would even be great for work.

Striped Poplin Dress

Just a cute and easy to wear dress. I will be wearing this with tights, over the knee boots and a cozy cardigan.

LACE RUFFLE SHOULDER SWEATER

SO cute right? I love tops like this with cute details. The eyelet lace, the ruffle and the color. I’m all over it!

Another cute detail top with the eyelet bell sleeves. So cute I had to have it in both colors!

It may just be the holidays, but I’m loving red lately. The material of this top is a nice thick knit so it doesn’t get wrinkled easily.

I told you I love my dressy sweatshirts! Ha! I always seem to find them at every store. Love the pearl details but I’m a little worried that they might fall off. I’m wearing a M here since they didn’t have my size so it looks big on me so size up if you want a baggier fit!

Another fave of mine. Like I said, I love the bell sleeves and love the contrast pattern/fabric with this top.

TIE SLEEVE CARDIGAN SWEATER

A bell sleeve cardigan? Yes, please! Love the length and that it’s lightweight, so easy to layer with thin sweaters or tees.

I posted on insta-stories of these booties that I just bought and had tons of people DM me about them if they were comfortable, how they ran, etc… They are currently on sale under $90. They run true to size however if you prefer to wear thick socks I would go up half size. (I’m not a fan of thick socks and stick to these think socks for all my boots) The chunky heel makes them pretty comfortable. I wore them to work and then took my daughter to see Santa’s reindeer afterwards so I was on my feet a ton but I lasted all day in them. I didn’t have a chance to take a cute pic of them on, will try to post one soon! But grab them now while they are on sale and have most sizes.

FALL UNIFORM (SWEATERS AND JEANS) ON SALE

I always look for unique details in sweaters and thisone shoulder slouchy sweater (1) has just the right details. I also love the pleated hem sweater (3). Both of these would go great with my great with my fave skinny jeans (2) that are now marked down too! These high waisted jeans are also a fave. They’re on sale and great for those of us with short legs, no hemming required! And don’t miss out on this tie front sweater, it comes in so many cute colors and it’s under $50! Not jeans, but faux leather leggings (9) are a lifesaver some days. On some of the coldest days, I’ll just pull on a long sweater, these leggings and over the knee boots and call it good. It’s such a comfy outfit!

3 BOOTIES NOT TO BE MISSED

I’m all about the cute ankle booties in the fall and especially love the cut out detail. The lower ankle booties (5) tend to be more flattering when wearing skinny jeans and these slightly taller booties (7) are really cute when you cuff your jeans slightly higher than the boot. I got these cutaway booties at the anniversary sale and they are back on sale for 40% off! These ones are harder to wear in the winter because you can’t wear socks but if it’s not raining by all means, pull them out because they are so cute!

FAB BAGS AND ACCESSORIES

There’s just so much cute stuff on sale, beyond just the clothes. I’m loving all the accessories at such good prices right now! I’ll all about the backpack these days. I can’t even believe how long it took me to get back into backpacks but now I remember why I used to love them! Load them up and so easy to carry around, it’s the best. The quilted backpack (6 above) is so cute and under $30! I love bright colored bags during the winter when I tend to wear a lot more grays and blacks. It’s just an easy way to bring color and personality to your outfit so I adore this pink bag (7 below) that’s now 40% off!

I go on and off with watches but I’ve found that during the winter, when I’ve got gloves and layers on, I don’t want to have to deal with continuing to pull out my phone out of my bag just to see the time so I’ve been wearing watches a lot more and love the classic black and gold watch (6 below). Tory Burch makes such great quality pieces and it’s always nice to be able to get classic styles like these on sale.

PIECES THAT STAND OUT

It’s so easy to get in a style rut during the winter when it’s so cold out, so I like to buy pieces that can help make my outfit stand out, just even a little. The cold shoulder trend isn’t going anywhere soon and even though it seems impractical during the winter, I’ve found that it’s actually a very smart piece to wear! You tend to layer up in cute winter coats and scarves, mittens, etc… but by the time you get indoors where the heat is blasting, suddenly you are sweating! This cold shoulder ruffle top (2) would definitely help you out in that situation, plus it’s just so cute so you can wear it for so many seasons. I had to include the embroidered dress (8) because it was such a popular dress during the summer that I didn’t want you to miss out on the sale (it’s 40% off and comes in 4 colors!) but also because you can still totally wear it in the fall/winter if you don’t mind layering it with tights, over the knee boots (5) and a cozy long cardigan (1) You don’t have to wear it off the shoulder so it still can totally work for the winter!

WEAR IT TO WORK

A few pieces that you can wear to work are this pretty satin shirtdress (10) It’s under $30 and comes in 4 colors! I love shirtdresses and would pair this with tights, the over the knee boots (5) and if you want to stay a little warmer, just add a long cardigan over that. Add the watch (6) and the pink bag (7) and you’ve got yourself a great work to happy hour outfit!

The bow flats (4) are so cute and they were also one of the items that were super popular for the anniversary sale. They are now on sale for 40% off and come in 8 colors/patterns. I sometimes hated spending the day in an office building in boots as I would get so hot and sometimes tall boots can be uncomfortable so I would keep a pair of flats in my office. These would be perfect for that and I just love the bow detail.

Nordstrom Fall Sale: What you need to buy right now (dressing room reviews)

It’s fall sale time! I went to Nordstrom and scoured the sale racks and found some great pieces. It’s such a weird time right now weather wise, it has been extremely hot but then we had a few days of non stop rain too so I went in just wanting to find comfy cute tops that I can wear during this season with or without a jacket. Luckily, the sale didn’t disapoint and I found quite a few cute tops and they were all on sale for under $50.

TIE SLEEVE SWEATSHIRT

This tie sleeve top is so cute and really, really soft. Like it’s so cozy I want to wear it every day. It comes in 3 colors and I’m wearing the XS, it runs true to size.

Had to share you both untucked and tucked as it’s such a versatile top and really cute both ways.

FLEECE CARDIGAN (SIMILAR)

This cardigan is not online but I found this one that’s very similar. I love bell sleeves and cardigans so it was a good match for me! It’s a bit oversized and odd looking with my shorts but I think it will be really cute once I pair it with skinny jeans and boots.

RUFFLE HEM SWEATSHIRT

I guess I was just really in the mood for red, which is unusal as it’s not usually my first choice. I loved this cute ruffle hem sweatshirt and it’s so easy to wear and pairs well with everything.

I actually already own this top in another color but had to get the black as well as it’s just one of those super easy to wear tops. I get so lazy some days when I need to head out for a busy day with my daughter so I always look for tops that are cute but super easy to wear. I just wear it with jeans, add some jewelry and I’m set!

I don’t have a pic of this ruffled hem blouse on but trust me I wear it ALL the time and I was so excited to see it finally go on sale! I actually have it in a few colors but this pink is my favorite and this color is now 30% off!

The best of Beauty and Home at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale + $500 Giveaway!

I hope your not all shopped out yet as I still have more deals to share with you! My first thing is to always shop for clothes and shoes at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, but they also have amazing deals in the beauty and home departments!

For the beauty items, it’s such a great time to get these products now as a lot of the sets and deals are exclusive for the sale and they won’t go on sale again.

1. T3 Flat Iron & 2. Hairdryer: My favorite flat iron and hairdryer by T3 is on sale! I admit it seems like a lot to spend on hair tools but after using them for awhile now, I understand why expensive tools are worth it. They just last longer and they do the job much better!

3. Aveda Hair Essentials: I’m such a fan of Aveda hair products and just saw that they have this essentials kit as part of the sale! It’s only $39 and you get shampoo, conditioner, thickening tonic (great to give your hair fullness and volume) and the best hair spray.

4. Revitalash: I haven’t started using this yet but I’ve heard amazing things! It’s basically buy one get one free right now! I’ve used other lash growers before and had great results, it’s just that you have to keep on buying it but for now I’m happy to get this deal!

5. Erno Laszlo Cleansing Duo: The Sea Mud Deep Cleansing Bar alone is already worth this set! This is one of the best cleansers I’ve used. I’m not usually one to use a bar but I tried this out on recommendation from an estethician friend and I am a cleansing bar convert! My skin feels so clean after I use it and it has helped keep breakouts away.

6. Clarisonic Mia Fit: I’ve been using this for about a year now and as much as I love the other clarisonic tools, this one was a clear winner once I started using it. I love the shape of the Mia Fit compared to the ones with the longer handles as I feel like I can really control where I’m cleaning my face. Oh and I just rub the cleansing bar on it to get the soap on it and the combo of the two has been fantastic for my skin.

I also wanted to mention that T3 also has the hair dryer and flat iron in compact sizes which makes it great for putting in your gym bag or for travel. Both work just as well as their regular size versions and are just so cute! Get the hair dryer here and the straightener here. I just got mine and they are coning with me on our weekend trip!

I’m kind of obsessed with little details for the home. I’m always buying little things to add to every corner of my house and I change things up every few months or so to make it feel new and fresh. Below are some of my favorites from the home sale that I use year round and happy to see that they are on sale!

1. Canvas Wall Art: How cute is this? I totally want it for my office but I currently don’t have any more wall space! I’m going to need to take something down to make room for it. It’s just too cute!
2. Stemless Wine Glasses: Even if you don’t get these for yourself, they make for great gifts! I just can’t resist drinkware with cute sayings on it.
3. Nap More Pillow: I have a few ghost chairs in my office and I always like to add pillows to them to not only make them more comfy but it’s also cuter. This pillow is perfect and it’s probably a motto that I should follow more often 🙂
4. Mini Candle Set: I actually love small candles more than big candles as I tend to get sick of scents really fast so I love having smaller candles to have more variety. These ones smell so good and are perfect to make your home smell fresh and clean.
5. Chic Happens Trinket Tray: I am all about having little dishes and trays all over my bedroom because I tend to take my jewelry off in every room so having a little spot for them ensures that I don’t lose anything.
6. Fragrance Diffuser: I tend to splurge on diffusers. I just love them so much and think that they do an amazing job of making your room smell so good. I keep one in our guest bathroom all the time and usually they are Archipelago as they make the best scents. Anytime I can get these on sale, I jump on it as they don’t go on sale often!

I just got this tulle sweatshirt top yesterday. When I pulled it out of the box, I immediately just put it on to wear to dinner! I love it! It comes in gray and both colors are still available in all sizes. I’m wearing an XS and it fits true to size.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017 – Best Buys and Dressing Room Diaries

It’s here! Now everyone can shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! I finally made it to downtown Nordstrom and tried on a bunch of stuff and bought a bunch of stuff! This is a huge long post, but keep reading so you can see all my finds! I think this year is one of Nordstrom’s best years yet! I love so many things. I was so happy with my buys I even had my sales person take a photo of me with my bags before I left. LOL I have no shame but isn’t the wall paper so cute?

What to buy at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017

Also just wanted to point out that everything except for one thing is under $50!! Yay for affordable picks from the Nordstrom Sale!

This dress was surprisingly one of my favorites. I’ve always been a fan of drop waist dresses – my wedding dress was a drop waist! I just loved the fit and the print of this dress.

Black Drop Waist Dress: Size XS $45.90

Another cute dress, love all the details, especially the fun sleeves! I also love that both were a good length on me and I think it would work fine for anyone taller or shorter than me.

Pink Floral Dress: Size XS $45.90

These shorts are one of my favorites ever! Funny story – I saw them on the wall hanging at the very top and I was jumping around trying to grab my size but it was so hard to read the tags (short people problems). I probably looked ridiculous, but I ended up finding my sales associate and she grabbed them for me. I’m so glad I did not give up on them though, they are SO cute. I love the pleats and how it looks like a skirt. They really dress up an outfit.

And I can never resist a cute button up so I grabbed this one and was not disappointed. I love that it kind of looks like a pajama top. I know I’ll be wearing this a lot!

I asked my sales associate to help me grab some more cute tops and she brought me the same top but in this satin/silk material and I fell in love! The color and the material is so pretty. And I know it may be hectic the first day of the sale, but if you can, have your sales associate help you find stuff that you may not have seen. I just told her the kind of tops I was interested in and she found a bunch. They are happy that they will probably get more commission and I’m more happy that I don’t have to leave the dressing room to hunt and can just get cute stuff to try on! It’s a win-win!

Ooooh this top… man I told you so many cute things this year. I love this color, the material (it’s lightweight and stays tucked in) and those sleeves! Seriously one of my faves!

Red Bell Sleeve Top: Size XS $38.90

This is a great basic sweater with a twist with those bell sleeves. Oh and it’s SO soft. I hate buying sweaters only to find out later that it’s so itchy. This one is not itchy at all and so comfy. The jeans are by Topshop and I although I have so many pairs of distressed jeans, I had to get another. These fit so well but I did size up on them.

This was a top that my sales associate found for me. I loved it but it was too similar to the silky button down top (it was basically the same color) so I passed on this one but I had to show you guys as I still think it’s a cute top.

Another top I didn’t get but I love the details! It’s an asymmetrical hem and has split sleeves as well. I did buy those skinny jeans (they were only $40!). I love dark skinny jeans and I can always use another pair.

This top is so cute, but I also left this one behind. I love it but I know that once the weather turns here I will not be wanting to wear anything off the shoulder and I liked the other tops better.

6 Can’t Miss Pieces From the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

I just got back from Vegas and had a blast! Will be putting together a post of my trip soon, but first… the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! I was so busy the last few days I finally just got a chance to sit down and look more thoroughly through the sale online. I did place an order before I left so I have a few things on it’s way to me, but I have found so many more things!

In case you missed it, here’s my picks for the best things under $100 at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. And in this post I found 6 more can’t miss pieces from the Anniversary Sale and what to pair with them (everything linked on this post is included in the sale).

So #1 and #2 on the list are is this gorgeous Embroidered Faux Leather Jacket and the Cutout Choker Tee (under $20!). You will wear both all season long. I love the added embroidery detail on the jacket and the price is SO good as it just looks so much more expensive. Pair it with these olive jeans (I’m kind of obsessed with olive lately!) and these edgy ankle boots.

#3 is this simple and pretty Knit Midi Dress. I’m kind of hoarding midi dresses right now as they are super comfy and stylish. Love the color (comes in 2 other colors) and it has pockets! I will be pairing it with a long cardigan which will be perfect to wear with everything all fall and winter. I love initial necklaces as I love to have anything with my daughter’s name or initial on it, but I always find that they are either kind of cheap looking or really really expensive. This necklace is actually perfect and under $50. Also, just had to mention those block heels with the stud details. They are the perfect heel height so that you can wear them for long periods of time and the color/style really elongates the legs as well.

#4 – you really don’t want to miss this peplum sweatshirt. I mean, I love sweatshirts for casual weekend days in the fall and I’ve always loved a “dressed up”sweatshirt so this peplum one is right up my alley. I’m loving velvet accessories for the fall and winter and had to get this cute clutch/crossbody for under $40. Also how cute are those slides. I love the look of loafer slides and have yet to try them out so I’m excited to get these.

#5 and #6 – The Suede Waterfall Jacket and a Tie Front Tee. I think I buy a waterfall jacket almost every anniversary sale. It’s one of my fall must have’s as they are so easy to add on over jeans and a tee and look pulled together. I don’t have this color and think it’s so pretty. The tie front tee might be a bit much with the jacket if you have the tie right in front but if you hide it off to the side it’s less noticeable but when you take off your jacket, you’ll be wearing more than just a plain tee and jeans which is the look as I was going for. Also on my must have’s list is a good pair of high waisted skinny jeans. For someone who is always worried about looking short, high waisted jeans are amazing for making your legs look a lot longer.

I linked to a bunch of great makeup deals as well. I’m loving all the lipcolor sets and the Anniversary Sale is the only time to get most of these makeup sets. I’m not putting another order just yet as I’m hoping to make it to the store sometime this week. Hopefully I will have some time and can take you guys a long from some Dressing Room Diairies!
