Mother’s Day Picks

It’s hard to believe it’s already May, and Mother’s Day is less than a week away. Flowers, cards and of course time with your mom is always a good idea for Mother’s Day.  But, if you’re still looking for an extra gift, I wanted to share some of my favorite picks for moms and moms-to-be!

Monday Randoms

I’m headed back home today after spending time in Chicago with my family for my nephew’s first birthday.  It was so much fun to hang out with my family and especially to see my adorable nephew turn one and see him eat his first bite of cake! 

Just a few random bits from my instagram that I wanted to share with you.  I’ve been loving this crossbody bag from Target.  I just can’t get enough!  My husband laughed in my face when I bought it and he (sarcastically) said that was so sure that I was going to use this bag over all my designer bags but I really have been using it a lot!  It’s actually nice to have a bag that I don’t have to worry about it getting wet, dirty, scuffed, etc…  And it looks small but it carries a lot.

am thinking about getting another!  At $23, it’s totally worth the

In all honesty though, if I had the funds to buy another bag, it would probably be this Saint Laurent bag!  I’m so in love with it but… out of the budget for now.

At Barneys I spotted this gorgeous orange Celine Nano tote.  It’s so cute!  I’m so loving the mini bags these days.

Another OOTD.  I had thought that I could put away my boots but the rain came back with a vengeance.  When I was in Chicago it actually snowed so I was very glad that I packed boots!

Sale Shopping: J Crew, Sephora and Kate Spade

I went shopping yesterday and had to update you guys on the extra 30% off on sale items at J Crew!  It’s not online and not sure how long it’s going to last in store but make sure to check it out.  There is a ton of cute stuff!

I love the polka dot Blythe Blouse but unfortunately the smallest size they had was a 2.  I typically take a 00 and occasionally a 0 in the Blythe and the 2 was just a bit too baggy for me.  The little crinkle skirt is adorable and is $28 after the 30% discount! I tried on a few different sizes to see how my bump would grow with it.  The skirt on the left is a 0 and the skirt on the right is a 2.  I like the poofiness of the 2 better so if you want that look, size up!

I’ve been so into peter pan collars lately and love that this little sweater is short sleeve.  Perfect for the spring/summer when it finally warms up around here.  It’s not on sale online but I got it for $35!  And the cardigan is a nice staple that I don’t have so thought it would be great to have in my wardrobe. (The pants I’m wearing here are these ones from Madewell.  Shoes are Dior.)

LORAC TANtalizer Highlighter & Matte Bronzer Duo – I got this from a Glam Beauty Board box and I fell in love with it.  The regular size is pretty big and takes up a big part of my makeup bag so I love that it comes in a travel size now.
NARS Eyeliner Stylo – the best and easiest eyeliner pen that I’ve used.
Clarisonic Cleansing Brush Head – love my Clarisonic and always can use new brush heads.  Definitely good time to get these on discount!

Make Up For Ever Duo Mat Powder Foundation – I’ve been a loyal user of this powder foundation for years.  It’s hands down my favorite, provides great coverage without being cakey and matches my skin tone well.
Make Up For Ever Lift Concealer – the best under eye concealer.
YSL Rouge Volupte Shine – part of me buys it because the packaging is so pretty but I do love the lipstick formula as well.  It goes on smoothly and never dries out my lips. 
Alterna Bamboo Smooth Kendi Oil Dry Oil Mist – my favorite hair product.  It not only smells good but a spritz of this helps keep my hair healthy and makes it shiny.

Chicwish Haul

The super sweet ladies over at Chicwish sent over a package of some cute stuff.  When I opened the package and saw this dress, I fell heads over heels in love!  It’s so darling I had to share it immediately on instagram.  I don’t even need a special occasion to wear it I’m just going to bust it out during a normal day just so I can do twirls in it 🙂

It’s really cute on, I love the addition of the tulle underneath the skirt to make it a bit more poofy.  I got the size small but my chest/ribcage is on the bigger side and it zips up in the chest area but just barely.  So just be aware of that for the sizing!  They have it in black too!

I also got this maxi dress and I love it as well.  The open back is a cute detail.  Best part?  It’s actually short enough for us shorties so we don’t have to hem it!

I’ve been into sequins lately so when I spotted this sweater it was on my “just ugly enough to be cute” list if you know what I mean.  But when I got it I actually liked it on!  It’s pretty comfy and love the sequin details!

I had the same thoughts with this sweater but wanted to try it out since it’s so different than anything I have in my closet.  I don’t love it as much as the sweater above but still cute!  It actually looks really cute paired with my slouchy boyfriend jeans.

I’ve ordered from Chicwish a couple of times now and have always been pleased with my purchases.  You can see my last haul from them here.  Quality wise, their clothes are still in the “junior clothing” for quality and fit however it’s probably a step above Forever 21 in that the materials they use are a bit thicker and the attention to detail is better.  The things that I’ve washed haven’t shrunk instantly or became misshapen or pilly.  I highly recommend them, plus they just have a lot of cute styles that I don’t find anywhere else.  Sizing wise their smalls fit more like an XS and their “one size” items fits more like a Medium.  Hope that helps if you guys decide to order from them!

Rockstud Tote Look for Less

I’ve been eyeing this Valentino Rockstud Tote FOREVER but the price has made me stay away.

I spotted the Freya Tote which is oh just about $1,900 cheaper!  I actually really like the color options of this.  Am seriously contemplating on getting it.  I’ve never owned a Juicy Couture bag so not sure about the leather quality.  Might have to see if Nordstrom carries it to test it out!

Shopping Haul and Sales Alert!

Just wanted to share my latest purchases as they are still available online and wanted to make sure you guys were able to snag them if you are interested!
I am a little too obsessed with polka dots and when I saw this shirt and these jeans pop up on J Crew I had to get them as I knew I would wear them a lot.  The polka dot boy shirt is such a perfect everyday casual top.  I love pairing it with a sweater over it or just wearing it with my favorite pink jeans.  I already have a pair of polka dot jeans but the wash is much lighter and a little too casual.  I liked the dark wash of these as it makes it a bit more dressy and it pairs so well with a bright sweater or one of my favorite Blythe blouses.  The Liberty of London jeans were an impulse buy but they were on sale and I don’t actually own any other floral print jeans.  You can see them on me here on my instagram.  I’m glad I got them as they are such a great transition to spring jean and I’ve worn them quite a few times already.  They are currently on sale and take an extra 30% off with the code GOODNEWS.  I stayed true to size with these but in my experience J Crew jeans do stretch a bit so if you are in between sizes or worried about stretching I’d go down a size.

sheinside sent over some cute tops and haven’t had a chance to wear them in a lookbook but wanted to share the sequin sweater which is just the perfect amount of subtle sparkle and it’s really comfy!  I have a thing for cute dog print shirts, I think they are adorable.  (Have you seen the dachshund print shirt at Anthropologie?  So cute!)  And love that this one is a bit more dressy and can be just a subtle pattern when worn with a blazer.

Oh and I’ve mentioned that I like to spot for deals on Amazon Fashion and I’ve been eyeing this Amanda Uprichard Shirt for some time now and it finally went on sale.  The color is gorgeous in person.  I haven’t worn it out yet but am sure it will come out to play lots this spring.
