The top 5 Designer Sales you don’t want to miss!

I can’t resist a good sale, especially a designer handbag sale!

I shopped my heart out at the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale but still saved some money to get myself a new bag because I knew there would be some great sales.

Remember, designer sales only happen twice a year so if you don’t get a deal now, the next sale will be late fall in November! Head here for a quick overview of the best designer bags and shoes on sale. I will keep that page updated as I find more styles on sale. Otherwise read on for a round up of the best online shops to score a great deal on a designer bag!

SSENSE

SSENSE is one of my favorite online shops because they carry a lot of designer bags that no one else carries and their sales always have a great selection. Things also don’t sell out as quickly here so you don’t have to feel like you missed out in case you weren’t able to shop the sales right when they were released.

Another bonus: since they are based in Canada, I don’t get charged sales tax which is a huge plus when buying pricier items. (A caveat: you may be charged duties and taxes at customs, but it doesn’t always happen) . Shipping is free and always super fast – only 2-3 days!

NET-A-PORTER

Net-a-porter is another great site with a huge selection and a ton of designers that you don’t see in department stores. I love to shop their site and look for hidden treasures that I haven’t seen anywhere else.

I have been obsessed with the Chloe Faye backpack for such a long time. I really want to get this one now that it’s on sale!

SAKS FIFTH AVENUE

I’ve always been a fan of the Saks sale, however I will have to say that I usually score better deals in store than I do online. Most department stores will usually do 30-40% off for first round but it’s always good to follow up in a few weeks when they do 2nd markdowns. Sometimes you can find amazing deals for 50%-60% off the original price!

THE REAL REAL

I’m cheating a little as this isn’t technically a sale but The Real Real is one of my favorite places to score a designer bag at a great price. They sell pre-owned bags but they are very picky about what they take so you always know that you are getting the best pre-owned quality and authentic bag.

Chanel bag prices are getting insane so I love having a place like The Real Real to still be able to buy Chanel at a somewhat reasonable price. This reissue (which retails for $6400) is $2500 which honestly is a great price for a classic Chanel bag.

BARNEYS

I’ve found that Barneys definitely has their own style of clothing and shoes so although they carry a lot of designers that the bigger department stores do, their selection is more refined and curated so it’s also a bit easier to shop online and in stores.

Top 5 pieces to buy at the Nordstrom Sale

Back for round 2 of my Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale picks! Make sure to see my post on the must have tops at the Nordstrom spring sale too. I wanted to share some of items you may have seen on here previously that are now on sale as well as share some of the latest pieces I picked up this weekend.

5 MUST HAVE PIECES FROM THE NORDSTROM HALF YEARLY SALE

I just got this dress and wore it immediately! It’s cute, comfortable, fits great with the baby bump and only $40! It is a bit boxy and runs large so I would size down. Because I’m pregnant, I sized up because I wanted to be able to wear it throughout the summer. Hoping my bump will be able to continue fitting it!

My favorite wedges as you’ve seen me wear in a ton of outfit posts as well as on instagram. These are slight variations of the same shoe. I love these just because they are really comfortable (I can wear them shopping for hours) and they go with everything!

I’m not kidding when I say this tee is one of the most softest tees ever. I love the subtle cutouts as it’s the perfect jeans and a tee look, but a little more trendy.

There’s something about short sleeve sweatshirts that I love. Maybe because it’s a little unexpected and also because it’s so comfy, casual but trendy and cute at the same time. I absolutely love the puff sleeves on this one and at $35 I thought it was a great price for the quality.

Being pregnant can be tough on some days. I just feel so uncomfortable with my body at times and I don’t want anything tight on my belly. I’m usually on top of the Nordstrom sales but since I’ve been so busy I completely forgot that the half yearly sale was starting. For those of you who also love your designer items, this also means that designer sale is coming up too!

WHAT TO BUY FIRST AT THE NORDSTROM HALF YEARLY SALE

I went to Nordstrom last night real quick and bought a few pieces. I will do a try on for you in a later post but wanted to share some first picks of what I saw online that you may want to snag ASAP. If you know Nordstrom sales, things tend to get sold out pretty quickly!

I advise getting tops first as I find that since tops are the easiest to wear and for the most part fit true to size, the tops always sell out quickly. I ordered quite a few tops and then I’ll be perusing dresses and jeans next!

I also want to mention since I am currently pregnant, all these tops work great for a growing baby bump!

Nordstrom x Blogger Collaboration

Living in Yellow is a blogger who did a collaboration with Gibson, a brand that is carried by Nordstrom and here are a few of my favorite tops that are on sale for 33% off. In this line I love that they carry petite sizing and I stay true to size however I have heard from others to size down if you are in between sizing.

What to buy on Amazon Fashion for Spring

If you haven’t shopped Amazon recently, I have the list for you! Here are some of the best spring fashion to buy on Amazon right now. All these styles are so cute and under $100!

THE PERFECT SPRING & SUMMER DRESS – ON SALE!

One of my favorite dresses ever is on sale at Amazon for 50% off! It’s the perfect spring dress and comes in 6 colors.

I’ve worn the dress a few times already and the more I wear it, the more I love it. I had shared it on my instagram stories and had so many of you DM me to let me know that you bought it too! I’ve found that it’s such a great dress to wear to spring and summer weddings but also any other fun events you have going on. The shape of the dress makes it so flattering on everyone and gives you the appearance of a smaller waist. Size up, especially if you have a bigger bust. I am normally a size 0/2 in dresses however I got a size 4 in this and it fits perfect.

LOOK FOR LESS – UNDER $50

And even though the dress above is less than $100 I also own the very similar look for less that’s only $50! It comes in 3 colors and the only noticeable difference is the straps. They are not as nice as the one above and also the lace is also a bit more stiff, but for $50 it is well worth the price.

You can see the straps better on this photo. As you can see the straps are more like bra straps whereas the pink dress above is a nice sturdy strap. Not a huge deal breaker but I did want you to see the difference between the two dresses.

THE TOP YOU’LL WEAR ALL SUMMER LONG

I’m all about the white jeans for spring and summer so anytime I can find a cute top to go with them, I’m all over it. How darling is this top? I’m loving gingham for spring and of course the cold shoulder trend.

Wanted to show you how it looks both tucked in and out as it’s a good length to wear either way. I’m 5’2″ with a short torso so keep that in mind as it might be a bit shorter on you if you are taller.

WHAT TO WEAR ON THE FOURTH OF JULY

Another fun cold shoulder top that looks great with white jeans. I just love the cute ruffle detail and embroidery. I love celebrating the 4th with friends and I thought this would be such a cute outfit to wear to a BBQ!

I brought it on vacation with me and here’s a few things that I packed. On another note, this off the shoulder swimsuit is one of my favorite one piece suits ever! I wore the top on a shoot I did for Kacy Yom. She is a local Seattle handbag designer and I love all her bags! They are so luxe yet a very reasonable price point for the quality, craftmanship and the leather. This bag can be worn as a clutch, over the shoulder or cross body. I love versatile bags that can work with all my outfits!

THE MOST FLATTERING SPRING DRESS

It’s still a favorite dress as I adore the eyelet and scallop details. I’ve actually seen it on a few girls and it is such a cute dress on everyone! It comes in 3 colors, I’m actually thinking about getting it in white too! I’m wearing the size 4/6 and it fits like a size small.

SOFT AND COMFY CASUAL TEE

I recently got this tie front top and I’ve already worn it a ton as it’s just so darn soft and comfy. It’s the perfect top to pair with jeans on a casual day.

Not the best picture of it but you can see it on me here and here’s a glimpse of my new house! The kitchen is basically the only room that’s not currently cluttered with boxes. That’s why I’m showing it! Haha! But as soon as the other rooms are more finished, I will be sharing a house tour!

Amazon is a mecca of cute fashion buys, you just have to do a bit of digging. I’ve had a few questions about how I search and shop on Amazon to find all this cute stuff as I know it can be quite confusing and you can sometimes end up seeing things that don’t interest you at all. I’ll be sharing my tips soon!

Outfits under $20: The best thrift store finds

I love finding a good deal, and when I find an amazing deal, I get super excited and can’t wait to share my finds with my friends! Last week I headed to Value Village™ to stock up on some spring and summer styles and I found the cutest pieces. When I brought them home to show my husband, he was so impressed with my finds, especially considering all the pieces were under $11. Depending on where you are located, you might know them as Savers® or Unique®, they may be named differently but you’ll find great deals at all of their locations.

It didn’t take me too long to find pieces that I love. Here’s what I spotted!

And here’s how I styled the pieces at home! Most of these pieces are name brand clothing so I know the quality is great but the prices are way better when getting them at Value Village. This top was only $5.99!

I styled it two ways with my favorite white jeans and with this skirt that I also found at Value Village for only $10! Such a cute outfit for $15!

I’m always so happy to shop at Value Village as they get new items every day so it doesn’t matter how often you go, you will always find something new. It’s also not hard at all to find brand name items of things that you would find at any mall. I walked in and found all of these things in less than 20 minutes. It’s just fun to go in and see what you find and especially knowing that most of the items are less than $7!

I love a cute striped dress so when I spotted this dress, I had to have it. I love mixing patterns so matched it with my polka dot cardigan that I already own. It also looks great with a white blazer.

I really like camis as I can easily dress them up or down. I was happy to find this silky cami for only $5. It fit great and I can wear it with so many outfits.

I also had to mention the home section of Value Village because there are so many good finds! I fell in love with this trunk, it was under $20! I’m trying to figure out how to update it. I’m thinking about painting it, or maybe covering it with pretty contact paper. I can’t decide but would love any ideas you guys might have!

If you’ve been reading my past few posts, you can tell I’m quite excited for my upcoming vacation. I’ve been shopping for items to bring with me and went on a sandals hunt! I found so many cute styles and I’m rounding up my top sandals picks for spring.

When you’re on vacation, you just want some cute shoes that are easy to slip on and off and I’m not much of a flip flops person so I’m loving mules and slides.

My husband and I never have a vacation where we don’t do at least one nice dinner. Along with all my flats and comfy shoes I also bring some cute heels so I can dress up! The pom poms are adorable and perfect for the summer!

Block heels have become my best friends lately. As a mom and just getting older in general, my feet are not as happy in thin stiletto heels as they were before. I’ve found with block heels I can wear them comfortably all day. I love the braided straps and think these will be so cute with jeans and dresses.

Just a few clothing pieces I had to share including this dress. I adore the pattern and the fit. Ignore the boots, the day I went shopping it was so cold and rainy! I plan on wearing this with cute sandals. I find that wrap dresses are pretty flattering on everyone and this one is actually a faux wrap (it’s all stitched together) so it keeps it’s shape.

What to bring on your next beach vacation

I’m so excited to get some time in the sun and on the beach so here’s what I’ll be bringing with me and the essentials items to pack on your next beach vacation. The best part? What to pack on your next beach vacation

ONE PIECE SWIMSUITS

This mom bod is all about the one piece swimsuits. They make such cute ones now that are so stylish and cute! Both of these picks are under $30.

Flamingo Swimsuit – How cute are the striped accents?

Striped Cut out swimsuit – I’m loving these styles that show just a bit of skin but still keeps your belly tucked in!

Scalloped One Piece Swimsuit – I bought this last year and it’s a fave, so cute and very slimming.

ESPADRILLES & SANDALS

You can’t go on vacation without cute shoes! At least not in my book 🙂 Espadrilles will never go out of style and I love that you can go with flats, to heels to wedges. I’ve already covered the 20 espadrilles that you need this spring but of course found a few more that I can’t live without.

Floral Espadrille Wedge – If you follow fashion bloggers on instagram, I’m sure you’ve seen these on several of them! It’s where I first spotted them and then had to run out and buy them! They are surprisingly lightweight (the bottom is foam) and very comfortable to wear all day.

Bow Slides – On vacation, you’ll need shoes that are easy to take on and off. Flip flops are always good for casual but sometimes you just want a cute pair so these bow slides are perfect for that. A big plus, they’re less than $20!

Striped Tie Espadrille – These are just a great basic espadrille that would look great with jeans, shorts and dresses. It also comes in a chambray that is so cute!

BAGS & SUN HATS

I am all about bags and hats for any beach vacation. They just add the cutest touch to any of your vacation outfits, especially when you want to be lazy and just wear a tank and shorts or a simple dress. Adding these two elements, easily make your outfit so fun and stylish.

Pink Ark Bag – How pretty is this bag? I love the pink! A lot of people have the bamboo version which is super cute as well! My one caveat is that I would advise to carry an additional beach bag or tote bag to carry your practical items as I don’t know how much this can fit!

Round Bamboo Bag – This is a great alternative to the ark bag and I think I like it slightly better because it has a strap that you can wear over your shoulder.

Beach Please Tote Bag – Every beach vacation needs a beach please tote bag! 🙂 I love tote bags as they are sturdy, easy to carry, easy to clean and when you find one as cute as this one, you have to get it! It’s such a great gift too for bridesmaids or friends that are headed on their honeymoon or babymoon!

Bow Straw Hat – As much as I love the sun, I don’t love the damage that the sun can do to your skin. When I’m out in the sun, I’m usually hidden underneath a big straw hat. I love hats with big wide brims and of course, I love the bow.

BEACH BEAUTY ESSENTIALS

Of course you need your SPF but there are a few other beauty essentials that you need for the beach.

Self Tanning Lotion – I have fair skin and even though I do tan fairly easily, I don’t want to rely on sitting outside in the sun to get tan (see above, my dislike of sun damage). I rely on self tanners even when I’m not going to the beach but I really need it when I head to the beach so I don’t blind people with my pale legs! 🙂 I am always reading ratings and reviews on Amazon and was impressed with the overall 4.5 star rating with 2,400+ reviews. I ordered it and I have to agree with the reviews, it is simply the best! Don’t forget to order a self tanning mitt while you are it so you don’t end up with orange palms!

Hydrating Mist – It always feels so good to get some time out in the sun but it can also be drying for your skin. I love this hydrating mist! It not only feels great to spritz on your face when your hot but it also has Vitamins B,C and E which helps your skin! You can always carry a small spray bottle of water to help cool you down but this hydrating mist just gives your skin a little extra boost to give your skin the much needed vitamins and hydration it needs.

Highlighter and Bronzer Duo – I’ve used this bronzer for years and years and it’s still my go to. It’s the perfect shade to contour/highlight for your face but also great to dust over your shoulders and arms to give the perfect glow.
