Glad to finally reveal my new (to me) Chanel bag! It’s vintage and I love that it’s a style that not many people have or that you see very often.
Clockwise from top:
Miu Miu Wallet
Envirosax resuable bag (gifted from Envirosax)
Chanel card holder
Chanel eyeglasses – as seen in this post
iPhone
Louis Vuitton Wapity case Gucci Cosmetics Bag
Gloves – as seen in my “Winter Accessories” video
Rebecca Minkoff “Allowance” Pouch
I’m not going to go into more detail about the contents, I hope you guys will watch the video! Oh and at the end I also did a quick review of the as many of you had questions about it and was wondering if I liked it.
What’s in YOUR bag? I’d love to see!

I just noticed that my hair is a bit ruffled like my vest! I used a new curling iron, one without a clamp (this one) and it gave me these fun curls! I like the different type of curl that it produces. I’m trying hard not to use the curling iron everyday as I don’t want my hair to be further damaged but I’m kind of failing at it as I do love having curly hair.
This vest has become so versatile in my wardrobe. I love that it adds such a cute accent without being overbearing and it’s not like I’m wearing that much of an extra layer since it’s just a vest. I hate it when I layer too many shirts and then my arms get all bunched up with the extra fabric. A ruffle vest is a perfect solution to layering! Also, quite a few of you were surprised to see me wearing a while blazer during the winter in this lookbook but I love wearing white in the winter! I wanted to show you this outfit to show you the contrast of a different way you can wear a white blazer in the winter and still look “winter appropriate”. If it had been colder (and if I had been forced to be outside more) I would’ve worn boots but the layering of the vest helped keeped me plenty warm that day.
What I’m Wearing
Blazer: Eryn Brinie
Vest: Madewell
Top: Martin + Osa
Jeggings: Vince
Shoes: Christian Louboutin “Bianca”
Bracelet: gift from Ice.com
Ring: Wendy Brandes
Those little bows on my lapel you see up there? They are earrings! Thought they looked better on my blazer than on my ears. Cute right?
I’m not a huge yellow person but it’s a nice color to mix in every once in awhile.
Really though with this outfit you could just do a tee underneath in practically any color. These are my favorite long sleeve tees.
I think I’ve gotten requests from readers to do a hair curling video every week over the past year and I keep on making excuses as to why I couldn’t do one. Well! I finally decided to suck it up and do one. Not gonna lie, I’m a bit afraid to do tutorials because I’m no expert at make up or hair, I just know how to do my own. I’m not pretending to be a hair stylist or nothing, it’s just what I’ve learned is the best way to style my hair. But I made the video because I love you guys. 🙂 Anyway, hope you like it and helps out in some way for your own hair! I do apologize it’s kind of a long video, I actually edited so much out of it but there’s just no way to curl my hair in 5 minutes!
Thank you to Hazuki from Yuko for sending me this! It really has helped my split ends and I really like that it helps protect my hair from the heat of the blow dryer and curling iron.
It’s not cheap but I’ve justified the cost by using it almost every day for a year and a half! It slides through my hair really smoothly, especially with the way I curl my hair. The ones I’ve used previously kind of would stick to my hair and tug at it when I slid it through my hair.
Also check out my All About Hair post for some of the other products that I use.
In the video I’m wearing the Yumi Kim Kalie Top in Ebony Rose. (It’s on sale for $50 now! Go get it!) Loves this print, I bought it in the Cissy dress as well and wore it to our company holiday dinner party. Oh and since I get a lot of questions about Yumi Kim sizing, I wear an XS and it fits TTS except for some of their flowy tops which are a bit on the big side (but I guess since it’s flowy, it’s fine.) The necklace is the Tiffany & Co. Lock Charm (it comes in every letter of the alphabet). Bracelet is from Madewell and ring is the double finger ring by Erica Anenberg.
I love all the requests you guys have sent me for my videos so please keep them coming! My most requested is a video for my shoes so I decided to show you a few pairs that are in my collection but don’t get worn as often so you may not have noticed them on my blog. We all have shoes like that right? The ones that we love but just don’t get any play. Sometimes I think “oh I should sell those” but really, it’s so hard to part with pretty shoes! Anyway, enjoy the vlog and the pictures!
One more thing… Ebates is doing a 2nd Cyber Monday and they’ve increased their cashback percentages on over 400+ stores! It’s the perfect time to do your holiday shopping and get some extra money into your account. It really is like getting paid to shop! Some of the ones I plan to shop are beauty.com at 12% cashback, Nordstrom at 6%, Sephora at 8%, and Shopbop at 9% cashback! So go check it out and feel free to sign up with my referral link (as a bonus, you’ll be entered for my $100 + iPod shuffle giveaway!) if you haven’t yet. For full disclosure, you’ll get $5 if you sign up through my referral link and so will I, after you’ve made a purchase.
My first video lookbook! And I think I’ve figured out the focusing issues so my next vlog will be much better than the last one. But I do really appreciate you guys still watching that one as I know the quality was terribly lacking. If you are wondering, I’m using my Canon 5D mark II which is a dSLR camera with video capabilities meaning it’s not a true video camera. There’s no handy auto focus like on regular video cameras so everything has to be done manually and when you are self shooting, it’s pretty much impossible! A lot of people do use the 5d mark II as a video camera (I think it’s the camera of choice for many wedding videographers) but they also have to buy a lot of additional equipment to make proper videos (which I don’t have). My husband shot today’s lookbook so he was able to control all the focusing so it’s a much better video to watch. Hope you like it! I thought it was a fun way to do a lookbook and will try to do more in the future. Let me know what you think!
You know I love everything Madewell. I’ve got my eye on the Fireworks Tank and the Silk Symbol Tank as well. Right now Madewell is doing 25% off all orders over $125! use code SPARKLE – and of course remember to shop through ebates to get 1% cashback!
Guess what guys? I finally put together my first Video Blog!! (or Vlog as I think the kids call it these days. 😉 )
I’m still learning how to use the video function of my camera so I’m out of focus for the first minute or so but I get in focus later on. I still need to figure out a few other things as well. BTW if you are wondering, this was shot on my Canon 5D Mark II so using a dslr camera as a video camera is a bit different than a regular video camera. I’m pleased with my first video but hope that I can get better in later videos. I hope you guys enjoy it!
And I know for those of you that are at work or don’t have time to watch it right now, below are pictures of the products I talked about in the video. (but I hope that you come back later to watch my video!) For all my future videos I plan on doing the same, having a video and a corresponding post so don’t worry, I’m not jumping into the video blogging thing just yet. I still enjoy writing my blog but now will have some videos mixed in!
Oh and if you guys want to know when I put new videos up (you will most likely get a sneak peek of the videos before the blog post since I have to upload them first) then please subscribe to my channel! (And let me know if you have a channel, I’m new to the whole youtube thing and would love to subscribe to some channels!)
Would love to get your comments/feedback about the video and if there are any topics you’d like me to cover in my future videos!
Oh! I have new buttons on the side of my blog. They link to my videos, blog shop and reviews blog so if you are reading through your reader, click on over to check them out, they are soooo cute! (thanks to my hubs) 🙂
P.S. It’s going to be a light posting week as I, like many of you, are going to take a little Thanksgiving break! I will also be slow (err slower than usual) to answer emails but will get back to you as soon as I can. XOXO
