Fall outfit ideas from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Here it is! What I bought and tried on at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! I focused on sweaters and tops that would work from fall to winter and as always, stocked up on jeans.

These tops were so soft and cozy and I loved that I could dress up the red top but also looks great with jeans. The tie dye top is from one of my favorite tee shirt brands, the quality of their tees is so soft and doesn’t lose it’s shape. The tee is a bit cropped so it’s easy to tuck into jeans.

I love this cami to wear underneath cardigans and it comes in 8 patterns/colors! It’s a good basic to have that will really help elevate your basics.

This sweater tunic is so cozy and you’ll live in it all winter! The snaps on the side are such a cute detail. I’m wearing it with skinny jeans here but will look great and super comfy with leggings too.

This sweater is insanely soft and one of my favorite buys! It comes in 4 colors and I couldn’t decide what color to go with. I love the pink but I think I’ll get it in black and blue too.

How cozy is this pullover? I think I may never take it off in the winter! It’s so cute and comes in 3 colors. It’s a baggy fit so size down.

I’m a huge fan of Frame denim and was glad to see that they were a part of the sale. Love the raw hem and that I don’t have to get them hemmed!

I didn’t try on many dresses but I had to try on this little leopard dress and I just loved it! It comes in 3 colors.

I love that Nordstrom always has great basics like this long cardigan on sale. I buy one every year and love this lightweight one that can be added over jeans like this or even over a dress.

I’m obsessed with this outfit! I have been loving graphic tees lately. I admit, I thought that this tee was a bit pricey at regular price, but this brand makes the softest tees and it always fits so well so I do think it’s worth the price.

And how cute are these cardigans? They are so similar so I couldn’t decide which one to get! I ended up getting the one on the left as I liked the slightly bigger stripes but the longer one is cute as well.

There were so many great jeans on sale! I love the relaxed boyfriend jeans, they run big so size down and the jeans on the right have such different distressing so I had to try them on. I really liked the dark wash too.

I fell in love with these pants as they feel like you are wearing pajamas! I am wearing a size up here so they are cinched a bit tight but I recommend sticking true to your size as they should fit great!

What is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is not just any old sale! It’s an annual event where they bring us brand new items at great prices so that we can all be ready for fall and not have to wait until the end of the season to save!

Get ready for fall

I am sharing a few fall outfits that I think you’ll be living in this fall and everything here is going to be on sale!

I basically live in jeans and cardigans all fall and winter. I always stock up on cardigans during the Anniversary Sale and I can already predict this and this will be a new favorite!

There will be lots of cute boots and booties on sale, I’m eyeing the neutral booties, and a classic pair of over the knee boots. But there will also be a ton of cute mules like these that come in a ton of colors!

Fall Date Night Outfit Idea

It’s always nice to have a few options to dress up in and a leopard ruffle skirt is everything! I love the layers and it comes in pink too! I think it would also be cute with this lace top too.

I’ll be shopping the jewelry as well because I am in need of updating my collection. They have a lot of really great deals on fashion jewelry (check out these gorgeous earrings and necklace for a classic look but much better price!) but if you are in the market for fine jewelry, this is the time to stock up as you save so much on gold rings and diamond earrings.

Cozy comfy basics on sale

What is a fall sale without some cozy favorites? Nordstom is my go to for cozy cute loungewear and I love these tie dye joggers (that come in a ton of other colors/patterns). I am predicting that they will be best sellers at this price point so make sure to add these to your wishlist so you don’t forget to order them!

Nordstrom carries an insane assortment of comfy bras for every occasion. I am a fan of this crop cami. But if you are looking for a great everyday bra, my absolute favorite will be on sale and it’s a must buy during the sale (the 3,000 reviews on this bra alone also agree with me!)

Weekend casual outfits

I buy jackets and coats every year because we get so much wear out of them here in Seattle. I like to include different patterns and colors in my wardrobe and this plaid coat is so pretty. Plus, you’ll save $100 if you buy it during the sale!

With all of the craziness going on in the world, a little bit of online shopping is keeping me somewhat sane. Nordstrom does not do big sales (they are famous for their Anniversary Sales!) so 25% off is pretty rare and I had to share my favorite buys this past season that is all on sale now!

What to buy at the Nordstrom 25% off sitewide sale

This top is actually a bodysuit which I love for high waisted jeans. No worrying about tucking and untucking and everything stays in place. These jeans are so flattering for everyone.

Lace Dresses on sale

A pretty lace dress is a staple in my closet. They always come in handy when I need something for a dressy occasion and don’t want to buy something new. You can find mine here and here, for less than $70 right now!

This maxi dress was one of my top sellers when I shared it the first time. It’s so comfy and a perfect dress to dress up or down. It can go from casual beach to dinner party easily!

I’m such a fan of this dress I have it in the short dress version as well as the bralette!

Stock up on shoes and boots

I have worn these wedges for years and they still look great! They go with everything and basically all what I wear on vacation or during the summer. They come in so many colors and are really comfy to wear for hours.

Even though winter is over soon, now is the time to stock up on boots since the prices are so good! I’ve been wearing these all winter and have found all of them to be so comfortable and keep my feet warm.

Lots of great Nike sneakers are on sale! These are my favorite and highly recommend them, especially if you have a little one to chase after!

Whenenver I see a sale on leggings, I stock up! I have “home leggings” and “workout leggings”, so I actually wear leggings a lot! LOL! I work from home so I spend most of my time in something comfortable and then I can head to after school pick up in them too.

It’s so hard to find a good stroller that is lightweight, easy to fold/unfold and easy to maneuver but this is it! This stroller is our absolute favorite. It’s a great everyday stroller but also small enough to travel with.

Where to buy petite swimwear (and what to look for)

Looking for swimwear is always tough and being petite, I am always trying to find suits that will fit a shorter/smaller frame which can often be hard. I have a shorter torso and have trouble finding swimsuits that fit and look good on me.

If you have a tough time finding swimsuits that fit a smaller frame, here are a few go-to spots to find swimsuits that fit petite women and what to look for when shopping online.

Stylish One-Piece petite swimsuits

I find that one piece swimsuits can either go really matronly or really sexy.

It’s funny how it’s hard to find an in-between but now that one piece swimsuits are on-trend it’s easier to find options that will work for us petite ladies.

This suit is by far one of my favorites as it’s very flattering on, the torso fits great and it’s a bit low cut but not super revealing.

And the most important part it hugs your body in all the right places and you never feel like you’ll fall out of it in the pool.

You can buy mine here but there are also a few different varieties, one shoulder, scallop and high waist bikini.

What to look for in one piece swimsuits for Petite women

Always look for the cut of the leg. A higher cut is more flattering and will elongate the leg.

Find the right torso length for you and alter if needed.

The torso length is super important as you don’t want it to be too baggy.

If you do find that to be the case, you can get the straps altered to fit so that the torso fits better.

LOOK FOR ADJUSTABLE STRAPS

The easiest and best way is to find swimsuits like these that can be tied and adjusted to your body.

Different patterns, texture or cut outs along the waist always or chest help to make you look taller and slimmer too.

It helps break it up and gives the illusion of a longer waist.

There are a few stores that I can always rely on for great swimwear every year.

J Crew

J Crew always has great options and is one of my top spots to shop for petite swimsuits.

The quality is one of the best (I never feel like the material is see through or fits baggy/loose).

They often have sales so it’s easy to get one at a great price!

Nordstrom

Nordstrom is a go-to not just for selection but their generous return policy.

This allows you to purchase a few styles to try on at home and see what works best for you.

I find that their swimsuits are more higher end but it does make a difference if you are looking for a swimsuit that fits you well and has higher quality fabric.

ASOS

It’s not common to find swimsuits specially for petite body types which is why I was excited to see that ASOS has a line of petite swimsuits.

I’ve ordered a lot from their petite clothing line and find that fit tends to run small so I always size up. However, I do love that they cater this line to petite girls and found that it fits great.

Styles are always so cute and trendy and priced right around $50 but often times I can even find them on sale for less than $20!

High waist swimsuits for short girls

High waist swimsuits are great for petite girls, especially those of us with a short torso.

And as a mom, it’s something that I’m more comfortable in than a regular bikini.

I need a suit that I can play in the pool, chase my kids, hold the baby and be comfortable!

Look for bottoms that fit right above the belly button. I find that to be the most flattering rather than too close to the bust.

Mix and match can be fun but I find it to be most flattering to stick with the same pattern on top and bottom.

Fun details like scallops or a small tie/bow are a good way to add some interest without adding too much bulk to the waist area.

Where to find affordable swimwear

I can completely understand not wanting to spend a lot of money on swimsuits.

I live in Seattle and don’t get much use out of my swimsuits unless I go on vacation so I do like having some more affordable choices that I won’t feel so bad about spending money on.

I love shopping Aerie for their bras and panties but their swimsuits have quickly become my favorites as well. They are mostly under $50 and they have some great sales. Most of the time I can get them for under $30!

Best Swimsuits for last minute shopping

If you are like me and always seem to wait until last minute to shop for your beach vacation, Amazon is always a great spot for cute swimsuits and free 2-day shipping! (If you are not a Prime member yet, that’s just another reason why you should sign up!)

One thing I will say about Amazon is that pictures can be deceiving.

I look at the images to see if I like the style but I read the reviews to make sure that when it arrives it looks like the swimsuit and also to get fit advice.

Most of these suits are under $40 and I own a few of them and have been happy with the quality!

This smocked high waist bikini is one of my favorites that I own. I’ve worn it to every beach/sunny vacation that we’ve traveled to. It holds up well and is comfy and so cute!

I’m a bit on an animal print kick, it’s a fun way to mix things up in the winter. How cute are these pieces that we found? Even though we love to match, I try to find pieces that are similar but not exactly the same.

I’m always a fan of faux fur and although I already own a few, I love the neutral camel color that you can wear with everything. I also mixed it up with some animal prints which I think looks great when you are wearing a simple outfit underneath.

Baby Must Haves | Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

The Nordstrom Sale is officially live for cardholders! Yesterday’s post was all about what I got and my favorite pieces for fall. This post is dedicated all to baby and kids items! From baby gear to clothing and shoes to older girls/boys, these are the best baby and kids items from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale that you don’t want to miss!

#1 BABY GEAR

The anniversary sale is such a great time to purchase baby gear such as strollers and carseats. You get a great discount on amazing products that are otherwise a bit of a splurge. Here are my favorites!

Thule City Stroller

We love this Thule City Stroller and we have the bassinet attached to it as you can see in the photo above. This stroller and bassinet is seriously the best for the newborn phase and I can’t recommend it enough! Get it while it’s on sale, it’s such a great price!

This is a great stroller for road trips. It’s super sturdy and comfortable for your baby. We also had the car seat adaptors to go with the Maxi Cosi infant car seat (also on sale!) and it attached to the stroller easily.

Nuna Car Seat and Stroller

Another stroller we love is this mixx stroller. Both the stroller and the car seat is now on sale! We have both and truly love them. They are so easy to use and great quality. This is probably the most popular stroller as quite a few of my friends also own it and everyone loves it. The Anniversary Sale version comes in a new color!

Above is how we used it when Edie was tiny, with the Nuna Carseat and below is how we use it now! We use this one for our nightly walks around the neighborhood.

Side note: Layla’s mini stroller is the perfect doll stroller and is so much like our real stroller! It’s great quality and can withstand all the bumps and cracks in the road.
