What I’m Wearing

I’m currently reading The Art of Racing in the Rain, which I didn’t even read the description or Goodreads it which I usually do before I read a book, because it came so highly recommended from so many people. I didn’t know what to expect except that it was written from the perspective of a dog which I thought I’d really enjoy. Well turns out, I love the book but I can barely get through a few chapters without crying! I have to put the book down and walk away even though I love reading it but I’m continuously crying! I really try hard not to but next thing I know I’m bawling. Hubs can hear me sniffling away and he doesn’t even have to look, he knows I’m reading the book. haha! On another note, I found out that I could borrow e-books from the library to read on my iPad which has saved me tons of money! I never was one to borrow actual books from the library and I switched to e-books when I got my Nook 2 years ago (which I still love) so I never looked into borrowing from the library until a few months ago when I stumbled upon the fact that my library had tons of e-books to lend out. They don’t have as much as a selection as Barnes and Noble and you do have to get on a waiting list for more popular books, I think I had to be waitlisted for a month for The Art of Racing, but it doesn’t bother me to wait. I love it and the best part is, it’s free, even the app! My library uses the Overdrive app to read books on iPad and Nook. I’m not sure how other libraries do it, but if you have an iPad/e-reader, it’s worth checking out how your library lends out e-books!

*Clutch: vintage Gucci – I am so into gray bags/clutches this season. Did you see the RM MAC clutch in gray? Love it! Also really liking this gray Melie Bianco clutch and it’s on sale!

*Sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Buy here – mine are the gold frames or similar – I like the black frame with the gray lens)

This week went by SO fast, I can hardly believe it’s Friday! Earlier this week I had a chance to meet up with the gorgeous Rachel of Vuesociety.com (which is her blog turned into online clothing boutique – check it out, she’s got some amazing stuff!) and it is so nice to meet up with other entreprenurial ladies that are going through the exact same things that I am in starting our own business. Everyone just sees the front end of things but the back end of things is truly the hardest part! It was nice sharing our stories and laughing about all the things we had to go through just to get through our store launches and how there are still so many things that we want to change. One of the things that I miss about the corporate world is just being around like-minded people and being able to share and bounce ideas off each other and get feedback about your work. I realize that now that I don’t work in a traditional office, I need that more than ever!

We met at Cake Envy a new cupcake shop in Greenlake. I’m a serious cupcake lover and have been to almost every cupcake place in the greater Seattle area and I can honestly say that Cake Envy was one of the best cupcakes I’ve ever had! I’m not one that loves frosting and I usually shave off at least half of the frosting that most cupcake bakeries put on but they had the lightest most yummiest – like whipped cream – frosting ever. I brought one home to my husband and he agreed. Definitely try it out if you are in the area!

Lookbook: a little Macho

What I’m Wearing

I’ve had to invest in some nice sweaters this year since the weather does not seem to want to warm up. (Although this weekend was fantastic, I’m hoping it will stay! We took these photos last month when it was not so nice.) Vince is my go to brand for basic yet stylish sweaters and since I’m all about stripes, this one definitely became one of my favorites to slip on whenever it was cold out and I didn’t feel like getting all dressed up.

Savvy gets more face time on the blog than Macho so wanted to take him out for a little walk and have him in the photos. (Some of you don’t know but yes, I have 2 dachshunds!) 🙂 He looks so little here but when he walks, it’s more like him walking me, he’s a strong little guy! It was beautiful this weekend and we took our pups outside for some nice long walks. Hubs and I love living in the city and even though we don’t have a back yard to let them run around in, we love that we live in an area when we can walk our dogs around the city and hang out at the many parks around here and then walk down to the waterfront on beautiful sunny days. I see the traffic coming into the Seattle and really appreciate that we don’t ever have to sit in that just to enjoy this weather. It also really helps us enjoy our city a lot more on foot than driving around in the car!

Oh! I had mentioned previously that I got to meet up with Lisa from Cocobella Ballerina while I was in San Francisco and she just posted our lovely dinner on her blog! Thanks to Lisa and her hubs for a fabulous night out and can’t wait to see you guys again!

I love the Gucci Hollywood pumps, considering I have 3 pairs in all different colors/patterns. My favorites, are of course my wedding shoes 🙂 The New Hollywood pumps are even better, with the slightly higher heel and the platform in front. You can’t really go wrong with peep toe pumps, I think they are so classy looking and everyone can wear them well. These Nine West Escher Pumps are cute and come in so many different colors. Plus, their on sale for $60 and 2% cashback from ebates!

Madewell Dewdrop Tassel Necklace

I also really like this Multiple Chain Necklace and for only $7, you can get both gold and silver! I absolutely love J Crew and Madewell jewelry. I have many of their pieces and their all great quality. Especially loving this J.Crew Knotted mesh necklace, so pretty and perfect for so many outfits.

Lookbook: Just a girl

A big bow, ruffles and mary janes, ah, I couldn’t make this outfit more girly unless it was pink! I very rarely shop at H&M – I hate the layout of the downtown Seattle store even if there’s only 4 people in the store, the layout makes it so crowded that it seems like everyone in the store is all up in my personal space or I’m walking into racks of clothing – not how I like to shop, but I always see bloggers with such cute stuff from H&M so I decided to stop in and see if I had any luck. Didn’t end up finding any clothing but I spotted this headband and just couldn’t resist the size of the bow and the Miu Miu-ish bird print!

ASOS Pussybow Blouse

I love ASOS blouses, the usually fit well and the quality is pretty good for the price. I only wish that I got a size smaller as it’s slightly baggy for my liking but it’s so hard with sizing for ASOS stuff. I’m also loving this military blouse and the detail on this blouse is really cute too, I think I may have to add these to my next order.

I bought this blazer I think over a year ago and finally got around to wearing it just now! I can’t believe it’s taken me so long, I love it! As I always say, fit is everything especially in a blazer and this one fits me so well in the shoulders and in the body. I just rolled up the sleeves as I always do for a more casual look.

I found this lovely bag while antique shopping. I have quite a few Gucci bags from the past few years but I think this vintage one is my favorite! I just love the colors and the structure of the bag. What a great find right? If you are wondering I found it at Pacific Galleries which is my favorite antique mall in Seattle. The place is huge and the vendors do such amazing things to their spaces. It’s not just an antique mall it’s more like a showroom! It’s so much fun going there but I usually have to commit to spending a few hours in there as I can never leave without looking at every single stall.
